It's Official Autumn is Here

It's officially Autumn! I know this because my husband turned on the heater this morning!! If he turns the heater on you know that the mornings are cold!! Brrr! It is a cool one it says 39 degrees outside so I guess I will have to resign to the fact that summer is over. It was a quick two weeks, let me tell you (ha!) I actually love the beginning of fall, the leaves turning color, the cool mornings and evenings, the days stay comfortably warm until the middle of October, I can live with that! Driving thru the redwoods is beautiful and although they don't turn color the others around them do and it's a beautiful sight! Definitely a photo opportunity waiting to happen! Marcelle has a wonderful devotional that she's written over at Christian Paper Crafts concerning the leaves turning and being fruitful. She lives on the east coast so she is particularly blessed with changing seasons. Here we are surrounded by the majestic redwoods and although there is a beauty about them they are evergreens so we don't see them change color, however I'd like to share an analogy about them as well. This giants grow in groves, clustered together for a reason. Their root system is very shallow and it goes out rather than down and they intertwine with one another. I find this fascinating because when the wind storms come they gain strength from one another so that they won't topple over. I love that this is how the body of Christ should work as well. We get our source of strength from Jesus through His Word then in turn reach out to others to interwine our lives with them and get strength through those wind storms of life. An isolated life is not only lonely but is not healthy (spiritually speaking) either. The Word of God says, "that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another." (1 Corinthians 12:25) The apostle Paul writes a lot about this in chapter 12 of 1 Corinthians, I encourage you to read it today. Well, the grandbabies are arriving for the day so I'll close for now be sure to check out the card Chelsea has made to give away for WAIT ON THE LORD WEDNESDAY at Christian Paper Crafts, she is so talented and has such a giving spirit!

It's SKETCH TUESDAY!!

Hello it's Tuesday and...

Alisa has done it again with a great sketch!! Thanks Alisa! These are so helpful, especially if you are in a creative "slump!" It helps to have a pattern to follow and before you know it you are adding your own personal touches on it and voila! How do you put the French accent mark on the word: voila? Oh well, as if anyone really cares but I did take four years of French in high school! As a matter of fact, Madame (my teacher) was in the lss this week while I was working, that was a treat. She hasn't changed a bit! She must have been very, very, very young when she taught me!

Sorry, I always manage to get off track... back to this fabulous sketch! Here it is so have fun and make it your own!

Don't forget to load to our gallery at CHRISTIAN PAPER CRAFTS and tag it St25! If you post it at any other gallery or blog be sure to tag it CPC - ST25! Let me know if you play along, I'd love to see your creation! I hope to have something to share on Friday... I hope, I hope!! I have my "blood-letting" thingy on Thursday and it kind of wipes me out for a day afterwards so I'm hoping (and praying) that I'll be full of energy!

Pumpkins and Prismacolor! Stampin Sisters in Christ

CPC FOF23 AND SSC05

Here's my Fun on Friday card from CHRISTIAN PAPER CRAFTS and Friday isn't over yet on the west coast!! But it is late and I've got to work tomorrow at Scrapper's Edge. It's Crop Pink weekend! So quick, here are the ingredients to my card:
The Prisma pencil colors I used on my card: goldenrod, light green, dark green, sienna brown. The kraft paper is Paper Accents, the pattern paper is Pink Paislee, the stamps are Great Impressions (pumpkins) and I'm not sure what company the sentiment is from, no markings on the wood block, the ribbon is American Crafts. It's pretty clean and simple! Enjoyed working with the pencils this was a first for me! Okay my bed is calling me! Goodnight and pleasant dreams!

I've also found a great new site called STAMPIN' SISTERS IN CHRIST it is a weekly challenge and this is my first week to participate! Here is what the gals over their shared with us:

Today's scripture was chosen by Kathy Winter: Ecclesiastes 3:1, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven." (NIV) I'm sure this verse and the rest of this chapter are very familiar to most of you. I encourage you to read the entire chapter. This passage is a particular blessing to me: "I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink and find satisfaction in his toil... this is the gift of God." Ecclesiastes 3:12-13. Now that's some serious food for thought (and prayer)!

HERE IS THE CHALLENGE:

The seasons are changing as we speak! For those of us on this side of the equator, that means autumn is around the corner (while our Australian friends are feeling the sweet breath of spring). So Kathy's challenge is to make a card/project using the colors of fall. This opens up so many possibilities. What are the colors of fall to you?

Be sure and check out this Christ-centered site and be blessed!

Meeting the Challenge!

I did it!! Three challenges in one week!! Whoo-hoo!! Can you tell I'm excited about that! Of course you can I said "whoo-hoo!" (ha!)
My next big goal is to combine more than two challenges into one project!!

Welcome to Delightful Details! If this is your first visit I just want to thank you and warn you! I'm a relatively new cardmaker and am blown away by all the talent I've been exposed to! Can I just say that I'm just in awe of all the talent out there! I'm hoping as I continue to learn that my ability will improve drastically. I'm hoping that I'll at least see a difference in my skill level. I enjoy learning so it's actually a lot of fun, but humbling that's for sure!

I'm late in posting but my family has to come first and I had a sick grandbaby yesterday to take care of and it was an overnighter so I was really lacking in the sleep department on Wednesday, I even missed our morning Ladies Ministry. But I'm feeling much more rested tonight, thank you Lord!! And Jakob is on the mend, too!!

If you follow weekly here is a reminder to check out Chelsea's WAIT ON THE LORD WEDNESDAY card ministry and you can go to CHRISTIAN PAPER CRAFTS to read all about it. You don't want to miss out on her card and the opportunity for her to send it to someone you know who is in need.

Thursday had a pretty nice challenge for our BIBLE VERSE THURSDAY. Angella had something a little different in mind and here is what she said: Use your favorite hymn or song lyrics as inspiration for your card, layout, altered item, etc. You may twist this however you like. Scan your hymnal book to make your own designer paper, hand-write your lyrics, or simply base your project on a musical theme. When uploading to the gallery, use the Keywords BVT24....when uploading to any other on-line galleries, please use the Keywords CPC-BVT24.There are no time limits and NO challenge police!! Just have fun and show us what you've got!!! And here is what I've done:

CPC-BVT-24

This is my "Favorite Hymns" tag! Of course there are too many favs to put on a small tag but these are certainly in the top 10! I reduced the size of the hymn pages and copied it then aged it with Distress inks (frayed burlap, mustard seed) and after adhering them to the tag I stamped (Unity Stamp Co., & Inkadinkadoo with the Distressed Ink:aged mahogany). To age it a little further I sprayed the tag with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, pink taffy.

Here is another creation for the challenges this week.
CPC-CM23 (Color Monday and CPC-ST24 Sketch Tuesday)
Both challenges are from CHRISTIAN PAPER CRAFTS! I was determined to use only scraps I had and nothing new! And I did it! Yippee! That was another challenge but of my making :-) Here are the ingredients: My Minds Eye (pattern paper) Bazzill: cardstock; Paper Accents: cardstock -card base. The buckle is actually paper from a diecut that I had in my stash for about 3 years! I used an Inkadinkadoo stamp from a Harvest set, Stamping Up! stamp (leaves) I've had for at least 7 years! Stazon Ink, jet black (sentiment) I made the background paper by using 3 Distress Inks (Dried marigold, frayed burlap, mustard seed) to create a "fallish" background then stamped the leaves in the Frayed burlap ink color. To finish it off, I used Smooch, pearlized accent ink in a pumpkin/rust color to bring out more of the autumn colors. Just as a reminder the color challenge was: pumpkin pie, tempting teal and cocoa.
Well, thanks for visiting and looking forward to my next post. Tomorrow is FUN ON FRIDAY if I haven't posted by the evening be sure and check out CHRISTIAN PAPER CRAFTS to see what fun Cindy has challenged us with!!

Good Morning!

It's Tuesday!! And we have a fabulous sketch for you to work with, I can see so many variations with this!! Can't wait to see what you post over at Christian Paper Crafts. Please label it with ST24 so we can know you've joined the fun challenge and if you upload in any other blog or gallery don't forget to label it CPC - ST24.

CPC - ST24

I'm working on combining a couple of different challenges to this so I'll be back! I'm on my way to work and then when I get home I'll have two little munchkins at my house (aka Jakob and Addie) so don't know how much I'll get done this evening!! Have a great day everyone!!

Love the Colors of Fall

A very warm welcome to you!! Thanks for stopping by.

This week officially ends summer with the first day of autumn on Tuesday. You wouldn't know it here! You would think summer was just at it's peak! We had a very comfortable 80 degrees in my backyard, it was perfect! That's Humboldt County for you, September is always a beautiful month and for a couple of weeks in October it should be crisp in the morning but very warm in the afternoon and early evening. Traditionally around here we've called it Indian Summer (I suppose that is politically incorrect... oh well...I hate politics!) All I know is that we had a gorgeous day, thank you LORD!! And the Forty-niners won, wow that's two games in a row! Football season, leaves are turning, yup...fall is in the air!! Which brings me to our fabulous Color Monday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts. Heather has chosen some great colors to start the week off and this is what she has said:
"I am feeling in the mood for fall and I wanted to share with you typical fall colors mixed with a little tempting turquoise for a twist. So your colors this week are:
Tempting Turquoise
Pumpkin Pie
Close to Cocoa
Hope you all play and I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Don't forget to upload using the keyword CM23 and when uploading to your blog or other online galleries, please use keyword CPC-CM23."
Those are going to be some great colors to work with! If you have a minute you should hop on over to the Stampin' Sisters for Christ blog, their challenge this week is a fall themed card so you could upload at both sites! They are giving away a stamp set from Korin Sutherland who owns Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. Korin has an incredible Design Team be sure and check out her blog HERE. You'll find lots of wonderful inspiration!
Speaking of inspiration, we watched a Louis Giglio DVD this evening called "Fruitcake and Ice Cream" if you have a chance be sure and watch it! It will definitely minister to you as you see the hand of God working in lives that you wouldn't expect. Fruitcake and ice cream may have to be a title on one of my future scrapbook pages! I've heard of being a Jesus Freak but how about a Fruitcake for Christ!! You have to watch the DVD... Fruitcake was the nickname of a person in a journal. It's not being a looney tune weirdo for Christ, I promise!! Watch the DVD!

CASE ARTIST SATURDAY!

Hello,

I promise, no creepy crawly talk, I keep feeling like something is in my hair since I wrote my last post! (yes, that will teach me...)

Well today is CASE ARTIST SATURDAY and it is also SCRIPTURE SATURDAY for all you SCRAPBOOKERS. Mary has chosen 1 Peter 4:10 for today's Scripture. Have fun creating and when you finish don't forget to post it with SS009 in the gallery at CHRISTIAN PAPER CRAFTS. When you upload anywhere else be sure to add CPC-SS009. Well, today's featured artist is Frankie Conar so be sure and head over to CPC and check out her creations in the gallery. Remember to label it CPC-CAS22 Here is my attempt to copy:

CPC-CAS22

inside (obviously!!)

Here are the ingredients: Patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye their Wild Asparagus line called "Brave Boy" the cardstock is Bazzill. The ink is Stazon Jet Black and the ribbon (rick rack) is from American Crafts. I paper pieced the smaller owl and popped it out with a foam square from Scotch 3M. The stamp set is from Unity Stamp Co. called Owl Always Love You. Frankie's card had a very cute frog and said Hoppy Birthday! What I copied was the color scheme of green and blue and the design itself. Very clean and simple!! Hope you like it and thanks for looking!!

Today's verse:

As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 1 Peter 4:10

I HATE SPIDERS!

Hel-lo!

"I don't like spiders and snakes and that ain't what it takes to love me you fool, you fool..." (Jim Stafford and Dolly Parton song) Remember that one?? Of course, I don't expect my friend Andresa to remember, the song was popular in 1974!

Yes it is true, I hate spiders! I really hate big spiders! This time of the year I always find them all over my bushes in the backyard. I'll tell you right now, I'm not going to be doing any yardwork or trimming! I'm not afraid, mind you or I'd not be looking at them, it's just that they creep me out! Yucky, as Jakob would say. He also says, "Grammie come look!" So of course, I being the brave grammie that I am, arm myself with a stick and show him all the wonders of the spider and it's web. (blaaaah!) I do this so he won't bring one in the house to show ME. When I worked at the elementary school library I had some upper grade boys bring in a tarantula to show me expecting me to freak out. Freak out (on the inside, I did) on the outside cool as a cucumber. That took every bit of brave fiber in me! ("I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" was the promise in the Word that I was claiming as my own!). So, I can't close without posting some pictures of the new neighbors that have camped out in our backyard, so I'm giving you fair warning: Below my signature are some gnarly looking spiders and you may not want to go there but if you do, don't mind them, they are taking a break from their spinning class and eating some choice morsel of something.....protein I'm sure... yucky!

Bible Verse Thursday (sorry I'm late!); Altered Notebook

Hey Everyone so sorry I'm late with this post. I had Jakob and Addy today and then Bible Study this evening so I've been on the go since 6a.m. It's almost midnight now and I can't believe I'm still awake! But I've got clothes in the dryer... I'm sure you can relate!!

3 months old

Little Miss Addy in the carseat getting ready to go home!

Jakob being very goofy saying "cheese!"

Here is our Bible Verse Thursday Challenge from Angella: She thought a good theme for this week's challenge would be WATER. Either choose an image with water and a verse to go along with it, OR choose a verse about water and plan your creation around that. We want to see you flex your creative muscle with this one! And (imaginary) "bonus points" if you incorporate Alisa's sketch and Heather's color challenges this week!!!Once again, there is no time limit or challenge police! When uploading to our gallery at Christian Paper Crafts, use Keywords BVT23. If uploading to any additional galleries, please use keywords CPC-BVT23.

This is a notebook I altered for fun today during the kiddies naps!
I used both the Color Monday & Sketch Tuesday for inspiration. CPC-CM22 and CPC-ST23
I'll edit my post tomorrow to add the details! It's late and I'm hoping the dryer is done! I'm getting very sleepy...

(Edited on Friday : 9/18) Incredients for the notebook:
Ranger Distress Ink : Tattered Rose for the blending ink and Stazon, Jet black for the flower/sentiment stamp from Kaiser; American Crafts ribbon, Bazzill cardstock, olive; Paper Accents cardstock (smooth white then distressed) Ek Success scallop corner punch; Making Memories, buttons, Pink Paislee Alpha Stickers, 2 strips of pattern paper: Cloud 9 Designs by Fiskar, Peach Grove (close to pumpkin pie!). I did add some pearls (Creative Charms brand) to an updated version of this notebook at the Christian Paper Crafts gallery to bring in more of the olive color and to eliminate some of the peach color.

Wait on the Lord Wednesday and the Dreaded Wednesday Workout

Can you believe Wednesday is here and almost gone!! Speaking of gone, I'm running into a creative brick wall! Ugh!! I'm having a hard time staying focused. Although I am just about done with the 20 altered notebooks for our Ladies Retreat! But I want to do more in the way of creativity!! Ahh... can't force it! I'll just keep doing the rounds of my favorite creative blogs to get inspiration! And choose a few challenges to incorporate into a card or layout! I'm still trying to do my own notebook with this weeks wonderful Sketch Tuesday! Alisa has a very cool sketch posted, I just need to buckle down and do it!! Can't wait to get my package from Cindy at Christian Paper Crafts so I can do my share of designing with the team!!

Can't let the day get away without posting about WAIT ON THE LORD WEDNESDAY be sure and check out the cards that Chelsea's made. You can find one at CPC and one at her blog here. Please read about this wonderful card ministry and then leave a comment at Christian Paper Crafts or on Chelsea's blog. You have until next Tuesday 11:59p.m. to get your comment in to qualify for this weeks card. Just a reminder for you to leave a prayer request so that we can lift that need up to the Lord!

Well, I can't end this blog without sharing that I'm still staying on track with the weight loss and exercise plan. Today is applicably named "Kill-Her" Wednesday Workout, it's the day I get together with my oldest daughter to workout. (and I'm not sure if she's trying to kill me, or I'm going to kill her.... of course I'm joking!) But I think she intensified the workout tonight and told me (as I was leaving) she wants me to do 10 pushups or did she say 20 daily? Do I dare ask her... if I don't do the 20 then next week it will show in my workout, I just know it! So, the good thing she said is I can start out trying to do just one regular and the rest "girl" style from my knees but do them in increments of 5 throughout the day and then increase the number of regular ones. That sounds easy enough, right? right? come on now... right? I guess I'm needing some convincing! I will share the good news: I've gone down a size! Whoo-hoo!!

Are You the Salt in the Shaker?

Hi and welcome back!! If this happens to be your first visit a big welcome to Delightful Details my little corner in this massive cyberworld! I love crafting so a big part of this blog is about paper crafting, I LOVE my family so you'll find pics and amusing little family tidbits, but my PASSION and LOVE is the Lord Jesus Christ so from time to time I may share a thought from the Word that I think will help each of us to fall deeper in love with Him and encourage us to be fruitful in our work for the Lord, whether you are raising your babies, working outside the home or enjoying retirement! That's pretty much it in a nutshell!! So welcome again and I'm so grateful that you've stopped by for a visit!

I just wanted to share with you what I have been thinking about lately... salt! You may think, that's weird, salt? Of all things to be thinking about! But to be honest this probably has to do with my husband. I'll stop right there because I should share that my dear sweet hubby is a pastor and while he is preparing his sermons, he'll share with me from time to time (actually all the time!!) what he is studying. Often it is a Scripture or a thought that he believes the Lord has put on his heart to share with the congregation. (I get a double portion!!) He is teaching from the Gospel of Matthew (expositionally or line by line) and has come to the portion where Jesus is talking about being the salt of the world. I'll quote it correctly from Matthew 5:13 "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men."

Here are some things we've been learning about salt:

1. It preserves 2. it cleanses 3. it seasons (the obvious one!) 4. it creates a thirst 5. it's an abrasive I can think of more but I don't want to lose you here!!

Now think about these in the spiritual sense, just how are we to be if we are the salt of the earth. That is what Jesus said in Matthew 5:13 right??? Hmmm. Has this gotten you thinking? I'm sure you are able to come up with more uses for salt that I could use in this analogy, too!

Now for the application: I need to ask these questions about my conduct. Are my words and actions (my life!) living up to being a preservative, a cleansing agent, a seasoning, am I causing a thirst for Christ? Now you may be thinking, what about #5? Are we to be abrasive?? No not really, we are to share the Word in love and the Word can be abrasive to those who reject it. Here is what the Bible says "Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one." 2 Corinthians 4:6.
That's a great scripture! First grace, then the salt!!

I like to think of Jesus as the shaker and we are the salt, His salt. His special brand of Agape Salt!! Hopefully right now I'm creating a thirst in you and the salt in my shaker is pouring out freely! Let Jesus shake you so that you can be seasoning those around you for His glory!!

I so glad you came today and I hope you'll be back for a visit soon!!

FYI: I have kosher salt in my cupboard, just thought I'd share that!! I thought it ties in well with the Agape Salt!

Two Chances to win!!

Happy Labor Day!!
Guess what? That's exactly what I'm getting ready to do: LABOR!! My craft room is in need of desperate overhaul and I'm ready to start the task! I might even take a picture of it!

But before I do anything, I've got to share some exciting stuff that's is going on over at CHRISTIAN PAPER CRAFTS!! Two exciting opportunities to win some awesome stamps!! Don't you love to win stuff? I remember about two years ago I did a survey over at the EK Success site and I won $100 in merchandise, I was in crafter heaven!! It was totally unexpected! Let me tell you I had happy feet when I got the news of that one!! Whoo-hoo!
Now here is your chance! So the first is a prize connected to our COLOR MONDAY CHALLENGE. Here is the color challenge: Use Elegant Eggplant, Taken With Teal, and Old Olive. If you don't have those exact colors, it's okay to use something close to them. These colors can be used on any project, layout or altered item. Have some fun with this! Here are the details from Cindy: This surprise contest is open until midnight Sunday (9/13) and our design team will pick a winner. We'll announce the winner with next week's Color Monday challenge. The prize is the Breathe stamp set from our September vendor of smARTworks. This stamp set includes 4 butterflies and 1 sentiment stamp, perfect for 2-step stamping.
When you're project is complete, please upload it to our gallery using keyword CM21 and when uploading to your blog or other online galleries, please use keyword CPC-CM21.

Here is the second opportunity to win a stamp: Christian Paper Crafts is having another Posting Challenge! Our sponsor is Our Daily Bread Designs who has generously donated one of their newly released stamp sets for the winner of either Happy Birthday or Jesus. Okay, here are the rules.

The challenge starts on Monday, September 7, at midnight and ends Saturday, September 12, at midnight.

CHELSEA, YOU'VE BEEN CASED!!

Hi and welcome to Delightful Details!
I'm very excited to share our challenge today from CHRISTIAN PAPER CRAFTS! Today is CASE Artist Saturday and today's featured artist is Chelsea Cook, one of our Design Team members at CPC. I'm so excited for you Chelsea! Congratulations! I love your work and you have such a tender heart towards God, it is such a blessing!! I'm really hoping to have time this weekend to CASE (copy and share everything) something of Chelsea's, of course I won't do it justice but I'll give it a try! If you want to play along, be sure to check out her gallery at CPC or be sure to head over to her blog at "All things through Christ..." Chelsea is starting to design items for home decor so be sure and check out her Etsy store when you go to her blog. I've been following Chelsea's blog for quite awhile and you'll find some of her creations over at the Triple the Sketch blog, too. Lots of inspiration!!!
When you upload your creation be sure to label it CPC-CAS20 if it is in any gallery than Christian Paper Crafts, hope you'll play along. I'm excited because I just finished the Bible study to post on Monday (hooray!) we are studying John Chapter 3 so be sure and check it out at CPC!
Well, got to run, lots to do to get ready for tomorrows services! I have so much to do still! Many people will be gone for the weekend I know of at least 4 families that will be out of town, so that's going to leave a big section of empty seats tomorrow. (sad face) That's kind of frustrating for my husband because he puts so much into getting ready for the services, so please pray for him that he will be encouraged rather than discouraged! Puts more pressure on me as well, cause I have to fill in where there are missing persons that usually help out on Sunday. Oh well, I'm blessed to be able and healthy to do it! Maybe we will have lots of visitors! But this also means my Sunday School class is going to be teeny tiny! (sad face, again!) Summer is ending so perhaps things will settle down for a bit and people will be attending more regularly, until the holidays anyway! Have a wonderful evening and enjoy!

Color Monday (CPC-CM20) "Hope Does Not Disappoint"

Hi friends!!
Are you excited about the 3 day weekend ahead. I'm praying that you have a fun and safe "end of the summer" holiday! Enjoy your time with family and friends.

I'm hoping to have more "creations" posted later but for now I just wanted to get my COLOR MONDAY CHALLENGE from CHRISTIAN PAPER CRAFTS posted! If you remember the color challenge was: old olive, ruby red, and more mustard (all fun color titles but I don't have a single one of those so I improvised!)

Here is my card and the list of "ingredients will follow!

CPC-CM20

I like this little stamp "Hope" it's just the right size and I really like the font used. It's from the Paper Company Studios and it's from the set called "Faith Greetings" (clear stamp set)
The Flower Stamp is from Hero Arts, I wasn't able to find it on their website (probably retired and it's a wood block stamp) but I just love it and it has so many possibilites! The Distress Inks from Ranger are Frayed Burlap, Mustard Seed and Dried Marigold, they were used to make the background on the focal point section by using a blending tool and a little water on a non-stick Craft Sheet from Inkessentials also a Ranger product. I stamped the images with Perfect Medium from Ranger and then used the following Perfect Pearls: Forever Red, Forever Green, and Forever Violet. The accent green pearls are from Queen & Co. Two pieces of mulberry paper was used from my stash and the base of the card is from Paper Accents: Recycled Paper Bag. The "ruby" red and "mustard" yellow cardstock is Bazzill. Thank you for looking and my prayer is that you will keep "HOPE" in your heart!

Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:5

It's Thursday, Already?? No denying it...

Hey there!!
Can you believe it's Thursday already? Wasn't yesterday just Monday? Where has my week gone?? Questions, questions! I've heard "older" people say that the older you get the quicker the years fly by and I would like to say I can't relate to that, but I'd be lying, so I guess I'm now in that "older" category! Drats!! I've tried to deny it but there is just no getting around it! HOWEVER, I am deciding to not let that steal my joy! I want to enjoy each day as it comes with no regrets! So, I'm keeping my eyes on the Lord and I'm not going to worry about tomorrow. (that is Biblical, you know!!) How about them apples?! (oh my... this is scary... I'm sounding like my mother...again! ok, I'm not going to freak out, my mom is the youngest 71 year old I know!). And if my dear friend Andresa is reading this she better leave me a nice comment about age! (lol)

I don't know where all that came from I was wanting to post about BIBLE VERSE THURSDAY and I got carried away!! Again!!
You've got to go over to the CHRISTIAN PAPER CRAFTS site and check out Angella's card!! It is so neat. I just love the butterfly stamp and the sentiment she used. It's perfect and the card is so cool! Or go to her blog and check it out there but definitely leave a comment, she really did such a nice job combining some challenges. Way to go Angella!! You rock in the card world, that's for sure!!
Here is our CHALLENGE from Angella: This week's Challenge is to use a verse about friends or friendship, plus incorporate butterflies (or dragonflies) on your card, layout, or altered item. There is no time limit or challenge police.....just have fun!!! When uploading your project at CPC, use the Keyword BVT21. If uploading to another gallery, use Keyword CPC-BVT21

Please don't forget about the contest going on at CPC. I know if you're a crafter, you'd love to win some incredible stamps!! So head over there and check it out and register, then tell a friend! I think you'll be glad you did!!

I Might Have Car Lag...

Hello!
I'm so late in posting this weeks challenges from Christian Paper Crafts, I guess I have "car" lag! Can I use that as an excuse? You all have heard of jet lag, right? We returned late Sunday evening after being gone for a few days up in Oregon. Here it is Wednesday and I'm still trying get my "crafty" side back in the creative flow! I think it will hit me on Friday! I've got two grand babies all day on Thursday (today as well) so I probably won't get too much done in the way of creating unless it's getting down on the floor and playing cars and making roads out of miscellaneous objects! And that is okay by me :-) I do that a lot!!! So in the meantime let me get you caught up on the fabulous challenges going on!! I hope you will venture out of your comfort zone and play along with us and when you do be sure to upload your creation in the gallery for all of us to see over at CPC! Don't forget the membership drive that's going on too! This is an opportunity to win some fabulous stamps from Our Daily Bread Designs.
