Word Art Wednesday Challenge - Stamp Simply!

Hello Delightful Friends!

Word Art Wednesday is blessed to have Stamp Simply as our sponsor this week!  Hope you will join us for a chance to win a prize.  Our challenge is Anything Goes - Family Friendly and runs for two weeks.  Each week you can share up to 5 new creations for a chance to win!!
I've used the very versatile stamp set called Seasonal Wreaths: Spring & Summer (Stamp Simply line).  This has a lot of useful sentiments that I use frequently and a matching die (purchased separately).  I love the two part wreath and need to get more creative with it, there are some fun possibilities.  Stamp Simply has a great product line and some great ideas on their blog, so be sure and check it out and make a wish list!! You never know who will win...

Here's my card:

I've used watercolor paper to stamp on. First I used the vine image and stamped with Versamark Ink, then heat embossed with  Ranger Gold embossing powder, then I stamped the "Spring" floral swag onto the wreath, again I heat embossed it in gold.  Then I used the Karin Brushmarkers (Plum 197, Cerise 375 and Olive Green 281) and a small brush and water to blend the colors.
I used the the Versamark Ink pad and heat embossed with the gold, along the edge of the white card base to create the strip of gold.  I cut my water color paper to 4.25 x 5".  I popped up the Scripture Art and placed it at the bottom of the water color paper. I love the gold, it makes the card have an elegant yet simple look.  Hope you like it!

This weeks Scripture Art from Hosea 2:19:

Word Art Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello Delightful Friends! Time for another Word Art Wednesday challenge! Here is my card:
I've kept it pretty simple with water coloring. I've used a couple of greens and a blue water color and used the wet on wet technique. One of the greens was an olive green from the Karin Brush Marker set I have, just did a little scribbling and added water to blend. The blue paint was from my Koi Creative paint set. After it dried, I added Liquid Pearls in gold for a little bling. The stamp set is from Taylored Expressions called Just Vine Background and I stamped using TE Sweet Basil ink. I printed the Scripture art onto white vellum and attached it to the front of the card so that it would be the focal point of my card. Hope you enjoy it and will join us at Word Art Wednesday for the challenge of Anything Goes (family friendly). Our prize this challenge will be from Trinity Stamps ($40 value) Be sure and head over to WAW and see the details, join the fun by adding your art to have a chance to win! Thanks for visiting!! God bless you and God bless America - please pray for us! Photobucket

Hello Sweet Friend - Word Art Wednesday

Hello Delightful Friends!

Here we are already in April and most of our communities are under the stay home - stay safe order.  Even though this is a difficult time it is also a great opportunity to be praying for our nation and president, our neighbors and family and drawing close to the Lord.  I hope revival and a spiritual renewal will come out of this time of testing. It's almost Resurrection Sunday and although this will be a strange way to celebrate it, I hope we will use it as an opportunity to be reaching out to our unsaved friends and families through social media, emails and telephoning.  Be bold and be brave, share about the wonderful work and good news of our Savior Jesus Christ! He is Risen!

Here is my card for the Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes (Family Friendly) Challenge!  Our sponsor this week is the wonderful Gina K Designs!! Be sure and check out the blog and store.  So much inspiration!  Thank you Gina K.!

I've used the Friendship Blooms stamp set that was a collaboration with Gina K & Hero Arts for their anniversary.  I love the large blossom and all the beautiful sentiments included in this large stamp set. I've water colored the image with Prima watercolors (Classic and Decadent Pies) and outlined with Zig clean color brushes.  The Word Art (digital) is from 1 Corinthians 6:14. "And God hath both raised up the Lord and will also raise up us by His own power." Love this wonderful promise from God our Father!

Thanks so much for visiting!  May your day be filled with all the blessings that come from trusting the Lord Jesus Christ.

Word Art Wednesday Challenge - Taylored Expressions

Hello Delightful friends!

Here is my card for this weeks challenge at Word Art Wednesday.  Our Scripture Art is Psalm 91:11.  Psalm 91 is a beautiful reminder for us to live in the safety of God's power and His protection, He will even give His angels charge to guard us and keep us in safety as we abide in Him.  Pretty incredible promise!  So many wonderful benefits when we abide in Christ.

Here is my card for this week and I've used our sponsor Taylored Expression's stamp set called Simply Stamped Zinnia to create the background.  This is a layering stamp and I've used it on watercolor paper.  Be sure and visit TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS, they are celebrating their 11th birthday!! Congrats to Taylor and company!!  I bought my first online stamp set from Taylor (CreativiTEA) and was a Key Ingredient member for quite a while as well.  Their stamps and dies are wonderful and you will be inspired (I PROMISE!!) so be sure to visit the blog and store! Thanks Taylor for being our sponsor this challenge!!

Card Details:
I've used 3 different Distress Inks (all Oxide) Squeezed Lemon, Fossilized Amber and Vintage Photo, I chose those colors to give it an Autumn color scheme. I've also added white acrylic paint, in addition to a bit of "dots of color" in the center of the flowers using my Koi Watercolors; those colors were added after I stamped the layers and misted with water and let it blend, then air dried.  I was going for the "loose" watercolor look!  I die cut the sentiment with the Spellbinders Nestabilities Deckled Rectangle and then added the yellow and brown layers of card stock. I die cut Desert Storm card stock with the Stitched Rectangle (Lawn Fawn) and then adhered the layers to a cream card stock base after adding the hemp cording and bow.

Thanks for visiting and don't forget to visit Word Art Wednesday and play along, the challenge is for two weeks and you can share 5 new projects each week for a chance to win.

Here is a card I did a few weeks ago using a fun die and stamp set from Taylored Expressions (I am pretty sure it's been retired 😢), not sure if I shared it or not but it was a fun one!

Have a great week!

Thanks Paper Smooches! Word Art Wednesday Challenge

Hello Delightful Friends!  (sorry for being a bit late posting this)
So glad you are here and I hope you will be able to join our challenge this week at Word Art Wednesday featuring our sponsor Paper Smooches!!!  I've used the Paper Smooches "Best Buds" stamp and attempted to do a no-line watercoloring technique.  As always, the Anything Goes, Family Friendly Challenge runs for two weeks and Paper Smooches is sponsoring the prize of a $25 gift code for a random drawn winner.  Thank you, Kim!!

The Scripture Art is from Philippians 2:16 and isn't required to play along but it is free to use if you choose to!

Are you holding on to God's Word as the plumb line for truth in this day we are living?  My goodness things are certainly in an uproar in the earthly sense. (in the spiritual sense, I know God is in control!)  I am so glad I can keep my eyes and heart focused on the Lord Jesus and knowing Him, keeps me steady and strong in this crazy world.  In our Scripture today, the apostle Paul was troubled about the believers there in the Philippian church, so much that he had to write to them about his concerns.  He was hoping that the work he had done there was fruitful and that they were standing strong in the Lord against the external conflicts going on around them. If you read the entire letter, you will be encouraged, especially if you are going through a difficult season!  Knowing that you can have joy and peace in the midst of difficult circumstances is truly based on a life that is completely committed to Jesus Christ. God stands ready, willing, and able to help you in every facet of your life if you ask Him.

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!

Put on Love - Word Art Wednesday

Thanks for visiting!! I trust you are having a great week.

Today I am sharing a card for our Word Art Wednesday Challenge (Anything Goes - Family Friendly). We have a fantastic sponsor this week : Waffle Flower Stamps and Dies!  Be sure and check out their blog for some fun inspiration.  Thanks so much to Waffle Flower for sponsoring our prize this week.  Don't forget you can link up 5 new projects per week of the 2 week challenge.

I've used the Bouquet Builders 1 stamp set on my card.

I used my Zig Clean Color brushes to color after stamping the individual images with Archival Watering Can ink.  I did a little tiny bit of masking but that work is hidden under the Scripture art strip! I've used Strathmore 140# cold press watercolor paper and kept this pretty simple, the card base is A2 and I cut the watercolor paper that size too.  I do love the vibrant colors of the Zig real brushes.  I used a waterbrush with the Light Blue for the background.  I may make another one and add a bit of texture/dimension with some Liquid Pearls or Nuvo Jewel Drops or perhaps a few sequins.  I'm pretty CAS when it comes to the watercolored cards.

Our Scripture Art this week is from Colossians 3:14
"And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness."

Love is truly the summary of all the things mentioned in the previous verses in this chapter in Colossians.  It is the righteous requirement of God to "put on charity aka love (agape). It's what shows that we are His and that bond of perfectness is the manifestation of the life of Christ Jesus in us, to which we were called.  Jesus said that others would know we belong to Him by our love for one another.  Chapter 3 of Colossians has a great checklist to examine our lives to see if we are walking in a way that is pleasing to the Lord, especially in our relationships with others.  I know I sure fall short, I'm so grateful for God's love and forgiveness.  I'm truly loved and feel so blessed because of His goodness to me!  To God be all the glory.

Have a wonderful week and thanks again for visiting!  I will be busy this afternoon making the grandkids their Valentine cards after our Ladies Bible Study in the morning.  Hopefully I will be able to post them here tomorrow.  I really want to make some peek a boo cards I saw on Jennifer McGuire's blog.  They sure were cute!

Forever Faithful - Word Art Wednesday

Hello Delightful friends and family!
You know what time it is! Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge day!  It's challenge #336 & #337 and hope you can take some time to join us for our twice a month challenge.  We have 2 sponsors this challenge, $15 from the Project Bin and an adhesive package from Stix to Anything.  Thanks so much to our generous sponsors! We had over 300 entries last challenge!!  Thanks so much for sharing your projects with us.

Here is my card for the challenge:

I have to be honest, this card was a total flop, I was trying to freehand some flowers, specifically a loose rose design.  I had gotten a pretty new watercolor tube called Quinacridone Magenta by Daniel Smith and I was excited to try it out. So I was trying a different technique I had seen an artist use but my outcome was an epic failure.  However, as I tell the ladies in my classes at Scrapper's Edge, let's make this a "flop-ortunity" and so that's what I endeavored to do!  I added some doodles with a Micron Pen and added the Scripture art to the center and voila! A card is made. Just as a sidenote, I'm not giving up on learning these different techniques, I know they take practice, lots of practice and patience on my part! So, I am willing to be patient, to practice and then practice some more to perfect these techniques.
Our Scripture this week is from Psalm 48:14, it reminds us that God is who He says He is and will continually guide us forever. I'm so glad I can trust Him to lead me and guide me along this life.  I love His faithfulness, even when I don't deserve it.  After all, His grace is sufficient and I know His Word stands firm.  I am so blessed and confident that nothing can separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

That's it for me today! It's been a crazy few days, please keep my 80 year old mother in your prayers.  She had knee replacement surgery on Friday and is recovering and it's been very painful.  Physical therapy will be starting in a few days and that's pretty hard on her but we know she will benefit from all of it very soon!

Giving Thanks - Word Art Wednesday Challenge

Hello Delightful friends and family!

I have so much to be thankful for and that is exactly what the Scripture Art for this weeks Word Art Wednesday expresses!  Give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good; For His mercy endures forever! Living out a life of thankfulness must start with the Lord, He is our Creator! He gives us our breath so that we can praise and thank Him! Thank You Lord for Your steadfast love and faithfulness.

Hope you play along this week with us and share your thankfulness with us too at the Anything Goes/Family Friendly Challenge at Word Art Wednesday! The new challenge starts today November 8th.

Here is my card:

I've been trying to use some of my watercolor backgrounds that I've made then set aside for a "rainy day".  This one was using a technique I learned in an Online Card Class I took last year. The colors were perfect for an Autumn card, I matted it in dark brown (the picture looks like a black mat but its a rich brown) and added a brown ribbon (American Crafts) and a die cut leaf (Lawn Fawn - small Stitched leaves), I used paper for the leaf from Doodlebug Design Flea Market (6x6 pad), I've added Oxide Distress ink to the edges (Vintage Photo). The watercolor paper is made by Ranger and is 118-lb; I'm not sure what watercolors I used, they probably were the Reeves brand that comes in a tube. I used a flat brush #1/2 also from Ranger. I've added a few drops of Nuvo Jewel Drops (Limoncello) to the leaf, just 'cause I could 😁 it didn't really add much to the final look so if I was to do it again I probably would have left it off.
Don't forget to play along with us at Word Art Wednesday, link up and perhaps you may win one of our prizes!! This challenge our sponsor is Simon Says Stamp! Most of the items I've used in my card you can get at Simon Says Stamp online store. You have 2 weeks to play and you can link up to 5 projects!  We had 290 entries last challenge!

Thanks so much for visiting and have a blessed week!

Word Art Wednesday - Remembering without Ceasing

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Autumn is in full swing here! I'm not sure I'm ready to let go of the nice weather though.  Especially when having to get up early and the house is cold. Brrr! Well, I'm not here to talk  about the cooling weather but share a card for Word Art Wednesday 😇.  This is a Family Friendly/Anything Goes challenge #304 and #305, and our sponsor this challenge is Simon Says Stamp!!  Yay!!
Here is my card:

I've use a couple of items that are Simon Says exclusive and they are the "Thanks on a Line" Die and the teeny tiny heart is a stamp from Wild About You set. I ordered this die last year and hadn't used it yet but it is the perfect embellishment.  I've used a piece of pattern paper to cut it out that was from a fall-themed 6x6 pad with fall colors and I love how it has turned out. The colors on the yellow gingham work perfectly. The leaf stamp is from Stampendous and I've stamped it on watercolor paper (Strathford 140lb cold press) that was diecut using the Lawn Fawn Simple Stitched Hillside die and then using Distress Inks and my MISTI, stamping it multiple times with different fall colored inks.  Once I got a nice combination of inks outlining the image, I began to add water and dropped in color.  After it was dry I stamped the heart, colored it red and added Glossy Accents. The Scripture Art is from 1 Thessalonians 1:3 and I've printed it on vellum.
I already have a family that I will be sending this card to this week.  They shared their home with me over the weekend as I went to the Beth Moore Living Proof Event in Sacramento this past weekend.  To see their faith in action, their labor of love (hospitality) and the love and hope they have in our Lord Jesus Christ was a real blessing to me.  I will remember their sweet devotion to one another as well.  Thanks to: Jeff, Brandy and children (Katelyn, Hannah, Cody, Caleb, Zach, Grace, Levi, Aaron, Eliza & Maddie) those are the kids still home, the four oldest are either married or living away from home.  Yes, fourteen in all! Each of them exemplify this verse and seeing what God is doing in their family is truly amazing.  To God be all the glory!

Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father.  1 Thessalonians 1:3

That's it for me today! Thanks for visiting.  Have a blessed week and please remember northern California in your prayers, we are being ravaged by fires.

Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge

Hello Delightful friends and family!
A belated Happy 4th of July! Hope everyone had a safe and fun day. We are just getting back from a quick trip to Oregon for my nephews wedding reception and we stayed a couple extra days for some R&R and a jet boat trip to Hellsgate on the Rogue River from Grants Pass.  It was a blast.😁

I have to start out my blog by apologizing that I have the wrong Scripture Art on my card for this weeks challenge.  I didn't realize I hadn't printed out the July word art and when I searched for it in my email the 2016 July art came up because I hadn't received the 2017 word art, so I used it without realizing the error. But I do have a card, that's the good news and the scripture is a good one to use anyway! So really there is no loss here in my opinion 😊 and I'm excited because I was able to use my new Koi watercolors on the flowers on this card.
So without further ado here is my card for Word Art Wednesday Challenge 290 & 291:

My background was made with Distress Inks Fired Brick and Peeled Paint and a mini mister and a wet-on-wet technique on 140lb cold press Strathmore watercolor paper. I did some very loose watercoloring of the flowers and leaves from this stamp set called Doodlebuds from WPlus9. They are one of my all time favorite stamps sets! After loosely coloring them, I let them dry naturally then fussy cut them out and arranged them and adhered them after I positioned the Scripture that had been diecut using the Cottage Cutz Cross stitched square die.

Here below is the Scripture art that should have been used today and you are more than welcome to use it and play along with us at Word Art Wednesday!! You can link up to 5 new projects and have a chance to win a prize from our sponsors this week!! This challenge is a family friendly Anything Goes challenge.

Hope you have a great week and are enjoying your summer!!
Thanks for visiting!
