Word Art Wednesday - God is More Than Enough

Hello Delightful friends,

I have an encouraging card to share today for the Word Art Wednesday Challenge (Anything Goes / Family Friendly).  I like to find different ways to use my stamps and dies and so that was my mindset when I started planning this one.  I knew I was going to incorporate the Starry Background (DRS Designs, our sponsor this week).   So, I had been thinking on this for a few days.  I also changed my mind a few times!! I've used 5 different dies from different companies too. But I really like how it turned out!

Here is my card (ingredients and steps follow):

First I picked out some pieces of card stock from my stash and stamped the Starry Background using Versamark Ink.  I used the Ranger White Embossing powder, then heat set it.  Then I die cut the balloons, I diecut a bunch of them but only used three on my card.  The die was from the Party Time set from Taylored Expressions (I think it's retired though...). The strings for the balloons are part of the set and so is the tiny bow.  I glued the strings to the back of the balloons and set them aside.  Next I used the Stitched Scallop Rectangle die (Pink Fresh Studios) and choose one of the cute plaids from the Doodlebug Designs 6x6 pad (Made With Love set).  It's double sided and the yellow polk-a-dot paper hillside is the backside of the plaid. I die cut it using the Simple Stitched Hillside die from Lawn Fawn.
Now to put it together:  On the card base, adhere the yellow hillside (make sure it's just a tad bit smaller than the card base so that it fits beneath the plaid "rectangle frame" After those two are glued down stamp the sentiment, I've used Earl Grey ink (Taylored Expressions) and the sentiment is from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps called God is for You.  Then start arranging the balloons, I've popped up the light green and yellow balloons with dimensional tape after I glued down the teal balloon.  Lastly I added the teeny tiny bow and a clear Bits & Pieces Drip Drop (T.E.) to the balloon strings.
Seems like a lot of steps but once I knew what I wanted to do, the card came together quickly.

Hope you like it and I do appreciate you visiting.  Don't forget to play along with us at Word Art Wednesday, the challenge lasts for two weeks and you can link up 5 new projects a week!

Remember, no matter what you are facing in this crazy life, the Lord will be with you and He is more than enough to see you through.  Jesus will never leave you, nor will He forsake you.

Blessings!

Share His Wondrous Works - Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes

Hello and Happy Wednesday to you all!
Hope you are having a wonderful November day.  I'm blessed to share a card I made for Word Art Wednesdays Challenge.  We have awesome sponsors this challenge too: Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and Stamp Simply Ribbon Store (Sa-weet!!) Link up to 10 new projects (5 a week) and be entered into the drawing.
Here is my card, I used an old and a new stamp set to create this card using Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, who just happen to be celebrating their 11th birthday!  Congratulations to Korin and her talented design team.

Stamps sets used: (September release) Winter Birds and (older) Cocoa's Latte both from Sweet 'n Sassy.  Cocoa has a new release for the celebration this month, definitely check it out here!
I stamped the images with Archival Watering Can ink on 140# cold press watercolor paper.  All the images of the holly and assorted leaves and berries are from the stamps set called Winter Birds (LOVE all the little extra images!).  I've also stamped one of the holly sprigs onto the cup.  I've colored everything with Prima Classics and Decadent Pies watercolors.  I've used the Avery Elle die called Reversed Pink Rectangle, paper is the Bazzill Rain Forest card stock. I fussy cut Cocoa out and popped the image up with a strip of  3M Scotch double-sided foam tape.

Scripture Art this week is from Psalm 26:7
"That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving,
And tell of all Your wondrous works."

Let us make sure we are "proclaiming" the goodness of the Lord! A song of gratitude is given as an example through David many times.  The book of Psalms is filled with thanksgiving and if you feel tongue-tied or have difficulty in expressing in words to the Lord how you feel about His wondrous works, borrow your words from David! (I know he doesn't mind if you do!!) After all it's our reasonable service to offer up the fruit of our lips to our God and King.  He is worthy and it's such a blessing to commune with Him in this way.  Our worship is in a sense our warfare and we go into the battle victorious as we proclaim all of God's wondrous works. Do me a favor this week and read Psalm 27, really digest it and meditate on it, read it aloud, read it as if the words were your own prayer and your own words of worship. Write them down, memorize portions that really speak to you. Make it so it is yours and see how the Lord will strengthen you and encourage you in whatever battle you face this week.  "God's Word is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edge sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrews 4:12

Thanks so much for visiting!  Blessings to you this week.  Please pray for the USA.

Mustard Seed Challenge #7 and CAS-ual Friday#175 Challenge

Hello Delightful friends and family (again!) this is my second post!

I'm playing along with the Mustard Seed Challenge Blog - the challenge is to make a card that features relationships.  I thought that the sentiment fit perfectly for this challenge. Not only do we thank our friends but we give thanks for our friends!  I will also be linking up at CAS-ual Fridays #175 (use those pattern papers).

I've colored this using Zig Clean Color Brushes. The stamp sets I've used are Sweet n Sassy Pretty Potted Florals set and Hampton Arts Happy set. I've used the Cottage Cutz Cross Stitched Oval Die.  The Designer Paper is Bella Blvd Barn Yard (green) and Doodlebug Design Fun in the Sun.  This card is a sample of one of the cards we will be making in my CrafterNoon card class at Scrapper's Edge in July.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Happy Thoughts! Mustard Seed Faith Challenge

Hello Delightful friends and family!

Just a quick post to share a card. I will be entering this at the Mustard Seed Faith Blog - God as Creator is the challenge as well as a sketch (which I didn't follow this time). The ladies shared the lyrics to the song by Big Daddy Weave called Overwhelmed. It talks about how overwhelming God is in His power, His mercy and of course His creation.  You don't have to go far to see His creation (just look in the mirror!).  I think of the saying about stopping and smelling the roses, well this card doesn't have roses but it has flowers and when you stop and look at each flower and realize they had to have a designer and that designer is God, it is overwhelming!  Flowers most definitely shout out about the glory of God!

The flower stamps I've used are a set by Sweet 'n Sassy called Pretty Potted Florals (which were designed by NinaB Designs who incidentally years ago designed my blog signature and I don't want to ever replace it! I love it!)
The sentiment is from the set called Happy by Hampton Arts.
I've colored with Tombow Markers and stamped with Archival Jet Black ink.  The watercolor paper is Strathmore 140lb cold press. The card stock is Neenah bright white 80lb and I've cut it to be a 4.25" square card.  The die is from Spellbinders.
I double stamped two of the flowers and one leaf that hangs over the framed die. The butterfly is from a stamp set called Floral Silhouettes One (JustRite Papercrafts) which I used my Tombow markers to ink up on the watercolor paper. I've popped up the main image with dimensional adhesive as well as the two extra flowers.

Well that's it for me today!  Have a great weekend. Thanks for visiting.

PS Just found out I won a prize at MSF blog for the last challenge!  Thank you!!

Praise the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, You are very great; You are clothed with splendor and majesty.  Psalm 104:1

Word Art Wednesday #207

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
I cannot believe that October is almost over!!
And I have been so neglectful in visiting your blogs but I've been trying to get ready for a boutique in a couple of weeks plus  designing and preparing for the card classes in November and December at Scrapper's Edge our local scrapbook store. Just a little bit overwhelmed.... So I hope you all forgive me (and you could pray for me too!)
Here is my card for this weeks' Word Art Wednesday.  I've used one of our sponsors (Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps) stamp sets called Sunshine and Flowers which after I made the card realized it was no longer available. (bummer!!!) It's such a cute set.  Korin (owner of Sweet 'n Sassy) has a great selection of stamps. I have 3 sets of their sentiments that I LOVE!  Such encouraging words and full of faith.

I used a waterbrush and Distress Inks to color this sweet image after embossing in white on Ranger Water Color paper.  The pattern paper is from Doodle Bug (Fall Friends 6x6). I printed the Scripture on Neenah white card stock.
I will be sharing this at the Daily Marker - 30 Day Challenge also.

I hope you will read the Gospel of John Chapter 15, it is full of encouragement and truth that will build your faith.  Every time I read it I get more out of it.  This is so true! When reading the Bible, I can't help but come to the conclusion that it is God-breathed, the integrity of design is all over it, from Genesis to Revelation.  The analogy of the Vine and the branches should speak to your heart the importance of abiding in Christ.  But don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself and read the whole thing in it's context. Be like the Bereans in Acts 17:11 "who searched the Scriptures daily...."

"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire and it shall be done for you.  By this My Father is glorified that you bear much fruit, so you will be My disciples."  John 15:7-8

Curtain Call Bouquet Challenge

Hello Delightful friends and family,

Here is a card I did using Dylusion sprays on an acrylic block and a water brush to color on watercolor paper (Ranger).   Isn't this stamp so cute, it's by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called Sunshine and Flowers.  It is such a fun set!  I'm writing this up on my lunchbreak at work so I'm sorry I don't remember which company made the "hello"
I will be sharing this over at Curtain Call with the challenge "Bouquet".

Thanks for visiting!!  Hope to share another card tomorrow!
I'll be heading to Addy and Riley Ann's softball game after work today and hope to get some cute pictures of the little granddaughter's playing ball!!  They are so fun to watch!

Sunshine, Flowers and Saturday Morning fun!

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
Hope your weekend is going well!  It's already been a busy day with making lunches for the homeless outreach our church does every 2nd Saturday of the month, breakfast with my hubs and t-ball with our little Addy.  Here is a card I did last night for a friend on the east coast, she's been on my mind lately so I thought I'd send her a card and let her know I'm thinking of her (Abby!).

Love this stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called Sunshine and Flowers I've been wanting to use it for over a month!  It's so cheery and the sentiments are wonderful too!  I've colored this with Copics, added Glossy Accents and Liquid Pearls (pumpkin) to embellish.  The inks I've used are Memento Tuxedo Black and Nautical Blue.  The designer paper is from DCWV 8x8 paper pad called Cafe Mediterranean.  I've used navy card stock to mat the middle dp.

Glossy accents used in the middle of the blue flower and Liquid Pearls added to the middle of the two other flowers.

I've entered this card in the following challenges:

Here is a glimpse of our Saturday morning:  Assembly line to make a little more than 100 lunches.

A mound of bananas!

 Lots of sandwiches!

Here are some pics of Addy's first t-ball instruction through Kindersports.

A Bouquet to Encourage (Curtain Call and Sister Act #62)

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
Here is a card I made for a friend at church who needs a little bit of encouraging.
I hope this card will brighten her day! Nothing like a bouquet of flowers to bring a smile.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Front of card: Taylored Expressions stamp, dies (hello and frame) and ribbon. I've used the Whitewashed Woodgrain Technique for the background again (see last post for link).  I've popped up the flowers with a dimensional, they were colored with Copics and a dot of Liquid Pearls were added to their centers.  The designer paper is My Minds Eye (Collectible) Inks: Memento (Tuxedo Black) and to whitewash: Memento Espresso Truffle and Tsukineko Brillance Moonligt White. Card stock: Bazzill.  It's hard to tell but I've layered the hello, the bottom layer is the teal colored c/s and I've offset it just a bit and the top layer is black and I've added Glossy Accents to add more dimension and shine.

Here is the encouraging part of the card...
Both sentiments are from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps (Be Encouraged and The Future Stamp sets).  I've used the same Frame Die from Taylored Expressions that I used on the front. Upper Crest Border Punch (Fiskars) finishes the bottom of the card.
Well that's it for me today.  I spent the afternoon at the beach to celebrate Addy's 5th birthday.  Next post I'll share the card I made for her.  Thanks for visiting!

Our Strength is in Him!

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Another late night here at the Houston home.  I got a late start on this card but really wanted to finish it and get it posted before heading to a warm bed, I already hear hubby sawing logs! (mercy!!)
This card I made for friends that are really going through a tough time physically, it's been one thing after another since they came back from a quick ministry trip to Kenya in December.  Trusting this will encourage them as well as our prayers.  (Please pray for my friends Darrell and Tiffany in Nebraska) Hopefully they will get it in the mail before seeing it here.

I will be entering this in the Crafter Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog #2 (It's a color challenge, pictured below) and Word Art Wednesday (#120 Anything Goes)

Inside of card (isn't that a great sentiment from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps)

This is the inspiration picture and colors for CHACB#2

I dug deep into my hoard and found some of the blue card stocks I needed, DCWV designer paper (Linen Closet collection 8x8), not sure about the paper I've used for the leaves, it was in my scraps that I'm "holding on to". The dies I've used are from Taylored Expressions (leaves, vase, frame) This is the first time I've used the vase and I've had it for a year!  I guess it's confession time.... (tee-hee). Embossing Folder - ProvoCraft Cuttlebug; Martha Stewart Border Punch.  Flowers are from Taylored Expressions - Faith in Bloom stamp set (one of my favorites!) I've fussy cut them to fit into the vase.
Other ingredients: Copic Markers, Liquid Pearls; Distress Ink, Faded Jeans; Memento Ink, Nautical Blue.
Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps - Be Encouraged (front) and Future (inside)

Thanks for visiting!!  Hope you're having a great week!

Hope in God (TMS234 and WAW117)

Hello Delightful friends and family!!
I wanted to make a special card for a couple going through some deep waters (figuratively speaking) right now.  It seems they are just going through a real time of testing in every area of their life.  I know the refining process isn't always the most pleasant but once they get through it and see how the Lord has truly been holding their hands though out, the end result should not only develop a deeper love for Christ but an opportunity to minister to others experiencing the same things.  I will see them tonight and I hope it will encourage them.

I will be entering this card in the Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge #234 and Word Art Wednesday #117 Anything Goes

Here is the sketch I used.

The designer paper is from Echo Park (6x6 paper pad - So Happy Together Collection)
Bazzill card stock; Sentiment (Sweet 'n Sassy : Future stamp set: part of the January release)
Inks: Distress Ink (Bundled Sage); Memento (Tuxedo Black)
Heart Charm (my stash); Ribbon (Taylored Expressions)
Die: Spellbinders, Nestabilities Deckled rectangle

This is the inside sentiment.  (Sweet 'n Sassy's - "Future" stamp set)

Thanks so much for visiting!! I look forward to reading the delightful comments, thank you so much.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Only God knows... Sympathy card (WAW #117)

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
Quick post tonight!  I wanted to do a simple one layer card and just bought this new (to me) stamp set of sentiments from Avery Elle.  I love the fonts! It also has the small flowers and petals as well as some other small shapes.
Unfortunately I've been needing sympathy cards (2014 is starting out rather rough for those left behind) and I thought this is somewhat cheery and I hope it brightens our young friend's day.

The inks I've used are Archival (venetian orange, chrome yellow) Memento (tuxedo black, pear tart), Colorbox (Playground).  Card stock is Neenah bright white.

The inside sentiment is new from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called Future.  It is one of 10 sentiments. I've added more flowers on the inside.  This is for a young lady who goes to our church and it's
not only to express condolences but to encourage her as well.

I will be sharing this card at Word Art Wednesday #117 Anything Goes.

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed week!

Happy Thoughts - LOVEFEST2013B

Hello Delight Friends and Family!

Well just want to start this right off with a card dedication to my lil' bro Darrell in Nebraska.  He is being a little whiny about the snow so I just want to remind him to have Happy Thoughts, spring will be here before you know it!  ;-)  This card is for you, Darrell!

I'm entering this card in the Splitcoast Stampers Sketch challenge from member company Sweet 'n Sassy for day 2 of the Love Fest 2013.  I'm just a little behind in my card making for these challenges so I'm going to need to speed up my production if I'm going to get at least one entry for each eleven challenges in before the 28th!
Rainy Day Bethany Bunny is the digi image I've used from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  Isn't she cute and there are many more images featuring Bethany.
I've used my Copic markers and tried out a new coloring technique (Pointillism: building texture) to color her.  It will take a while before I have this technique perfected!  Head over to the My Favorite Things Academy and you'll see the tutorial.

Here are the ingredients to my card:
Paper: Designer Paper: Echo Park (Everyday Eclectic)
Card Stock: Bazzill and Neenah
Stamps: Taylored Expressions - Many Mini Occasions (sentiment)
Ink:Memento Tuxedo Black
Prismacolor Pencil (grass)
Copic Markers
Spica Pen (to color the dots, butterfly, raindrops)
Dies:  MFT - Die-Namics Fishtale Flags Stax; Mini Tags (Taylored Expressions); Spellbinders Nestabilities Scallop Ovals.
Washi Tape: Queen & Co.; Ribbon (stash); White Gel Pen

Thanks for looking and stay warm out there!!

Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.  Ephesians 5:1-2

More thank you's

Hello Delightful friends and family!
I have three more thank you cards to share.  I think I have two more and I'll be finished for the time being.  I'm always in need of thank you cards aren't you?  I got to my craft room yesterday afternoon after doing a couple of loads of laundry and the general "pick-up" of the house.  Although I confess, the Christmas décor didn't yell quite loud enough for me to put them all away!  Or maybe I just tuned them out by turning KLOVE up on high!

I just love Cocoa from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps!  This set is called Cocoa's Latte.  I've paper pieced the container with Cosmo Cricket's Tea For Two.  The ribbon is from one of the Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient kit and I've also use a TE Die (Scallop border).  I've framed out the image using the Spellbinder Nestabilities Label die.  The Copics used are: G000, G40, G43; R000, R00, R01; N0; E04, E11, E13, E15, E37

Inside sentiment using Archival Ink Coffee (of course!)  I've also used the Die-Namics Fishtale Flags STAX from My Favorite Things.  Bazzill and Neenah card stock were used.

Here is a CAS card and I used the resist emboss technique using Gloss Card Stock Paper (Ranger - Inkessentials), Versamark, Distress Ink, Picked Raspberry (Ranger).  The heart stamp is from the Unity Ippity Devoted set (one of my favs!)  The base of the card is Neenah card stock and I've also used Bazzill (raven)

Inside of the card: I stamped the sentiment from a left over piece from the Gloss Paper and punched out the heart using a Marvy Uchida scallop heart punch, then adhered it to a piece of the Bazzill c/s.  Sentiment is a Taylored Expressions stamp ( Buddy Bear set) using Stazon Jet Black ink.

This card I CASE'd from Danielle Daws card HERE.  Her card is gorgeous  and mine doesn't hold a candle to it!!  She has some awesome video tutorials, too.
I definitely need a bit of practice with the ink blending and masking technique.
I used the Ranger Masking sheet to cut out the circle using a Spellbinder Nestie Circle. Once I finished blending ink into the circle, I splattered water on the ink, hoping some of the lighter colors would come through.  I wasn't sure what kind of reaction or design I would get and I think I would liked it better if it was a bit more subtle. (it would have helped if I had my glasses on and saw how many drops of water were splattered!)  But for my first attempt I shouldn't complain!  The stamp I've used is from Unity (The Simple Things).  Distress Inks used:  Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge, Spiced Marmalade.  Memento tuxedo black ink was used to stamp the image and sentiment.  I've added a little shimmery to the image by using a clear and gold Spica Pen.  Neenah white c/s for the base, Bazzill black and My Mind's Eye (Lost & Found) are the other papers used.

I stamped off the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The sentiment is PTI (Thank you in and out set).

Thanks for hanging through this long post!!

Be sure and check out my post for the  Season of Love classes, if you leave a comment your name will go in a random drawing for the classes.  The value is $24.95 for the two week session of classes and continued access to the class and videos. The drawing will be held on January 9th
