Hello Sweet Friend - Word Art Wednesday

Hello Delightful Friends!

Here we are already in April and most of our communities are under the stay home - stay safe order.  Even though this is a difficult time it is also a great opportunity to be praying for our nation and president, our neighbors and family and drawing close to the Lord.  I hope revival and a spiritual renewal will come out of this time of testing. It's almost Resurrection Sunday and although this will be a strange way to celebrate it, I hope we will use it as an opportunity to be reaching out to our unsaved friends and families through social media, emails and telephoning.  Be bold and be brave, share about the wonderful work and good news of our Savior Jesus Christ! He is Risen!

Here is my card for the Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes (Family Friendly) Challenge!  Our sponsor this week is the wonderful Gina K Designs!! Be sure and check out the blog and store.  So much inspiration!  Thank you Gina K.!

I've used the Friendship Blooms stamp set that was a collaboration with Gina K & Hero Arts for their anniversary.  I love the large blossom and all the beautiful sentiments included in this large stamp set. I've water colored the image with Prima watercolors (Classic and Decadent Pies) and outlined with Zig clean color brushes.  The Word Art (digital) is from 1 Corinthians 6:14. "And God hath both raised up the Lord and will also raise up us by His own power." Love this wonderful promise from God our Father!

Thanks so much for visiting!  May your day be filled with all the blessings that come from trusting the Lord Jesus Christ.

Word Art Wednesday Challenge

Hello and happy first week of Autumn to you all!

Summer's gone and you wouldn't know it by the heat wave we are feeling here in Northern California, but that is the norm for us.  We call it Indian summer.  Cool in the morning and very warm in the afternoon and early evening.  Perfect weather if you ask me!!
I have a card to share for Word Art Wednesday.  Our sponsor this week is Cas-ual Friday Stamps. Be sure and check out their blog HERE and be inspired!!

This time, I've used the Scripture art inside the card rather than on the front.  So that's a little different for me.  This stamp set I've used is called Friendship Blooms which is a collaboration between Gina K Designs and Hero Arts (celebrating their 45th anniversary!)  I've stamped it on watercolor paper using Versamark and gold embossing powder.  I've colored with my Koi water color set (Pocket Field Sketch Box).  This set has some lovely sentiments and I love the fonts the artists have chosen for it!  So pretty!  I've trimmed out the paper using a Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die.  The sentiment is also die cut using a Cottage Cutz cross stitched square die,

Here is a peek at the inside:  Die cut using the LF stitched rectangle with a pretty piece of card stock, not sure of the color.

The Scripture from 1 Corinthians, written by Paul begins this first chapter with thanksgiving for this church, which is pretty amazing considering all the correction that had to take place. This is a really good example or pattern for us in leadership in the church to always remember to be encouraging even in the midst of correction.  To be able to see the grace of God at work in this congregation is a real blessing to Paul and he thanks the Lord for their strong points as he corrects their carnality later on in this letter.  He will go on to give thanks to God who gives them the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ towards the end of the letter and reminds the Corinthians that they are beloved and reminds them to be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that their labor of love was not in vain in the Lord. (paraphrased by me 😆)  This is a good word for us as well.  I have a friend that will be getting this card and I pray it will be a blessed encouragement to her when she reads the inside verse.  I hope you are encouraged too!

Thanks for visiting!!

Rejoice and Be Glad! Word Art Wednesday #214

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Just a quick post because I'm a bit under the weather.  Hope whatever this is will be quick (chills and achy feeling.) Since I'm writing this Tuesday night, I hope to get to bed soon and feel better in the morning. Who has time to get sick!!

Here is Word Art Wednesday's card #214. It's a family friendly challenge with prizes, hope you'll link up at WAW and leave a comment! Please grab the free digital Scripture, too. There is a new one every week there is a challenge and some fabulous sponsors, too!

The top layer is a background stamp from Hero Arts.  I've used white embossing powder and then heat set it and added Distress Inks in blues. The Lawn Fawn stamp called Season's Tweetings was used to make the tree branch (embossed with Archival Tea Branch).  The little birdie was colored with Copics and I stamped the musical notes with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  This little birdy is singing it's heart out for the Lord!

Thanks so much for visiting and lift me up in prayer!

Summer Camp Out!

Hello Delightful Friends & Family
Here is a quick post to share a card I made for a little guy in our church who had a birthday last week and a campout with some of his buddies in his big backyard that borders the forest.  Since I'm not home (still up in Oregon, tending to my momma) I can't really give you any details about the card.  Except that I did do the whitewash fence technique for the background, some masking and fussy cutting.  And I used three different stamp sets (Taylored Expressions- S'more Fun, Lawn Fawn - Happy Trails and Hero Arts-Essential Messages on the inside.)
I made this for Jakob and Addy to give to Garison which fit the theme perfectly for his summer birthday!

This card will be entered in the following challenges:
Seize the Birthday

Inside of the card:

Thanks for visiting!  Enjoy the weekend.

Sweet Empty Calories F4A162 (SCS)

Happy Friday evening to all my delightful friends and family!!

Posting this quick-like between batches of Snickerdoodle cookies that are baking.  The Youth group at church is having a bake sale tomorrow in town so I thought I'd get some cookies made up for them.  Last night my youngest daughter asked me to make a couple of "simple" birthday cards for two little sisters turning 6 and 3 years old.  Jakob and Addy will be celebrating with them at the pool (indoor community pool!) tomorrow.  So here are my "simple and quick" cards I made.

For both cards I used the exact same stamp set and paper.  Stamps: Hero Arts, Cupcakes; Designer Paper: DCWV; Bazzill card stock.  This card I also used Liquid Pearls to add "sprinkles" to embellish and Glitz washi  tape.  Inks used: Memento and Archival in black.

On this card the Spellbinder scallop circle was die cut from  the Die-Namics Fishtail Flag that I had previously die cut.  The image was stamped on a separate piece of Neenah card stock and colored with Copic markers and adhered to the backside of the flag. I saw something similar on Pinterest so I thought I'd put my own twist to it.  I've embellished the flame and flower with Ranger Stickles.

Well that's it for tonight.  Mmmm the smell of snickerdoodle cookies are filling my house.... yum!  Thankfully, there are a few cookies that didn't turn out "perfect" that I'll just have to keep out of the bake sale, oh rats!  So much for my Sweet Empty Calorie post.  Which reminds me these cards will be entered in the Friday Splitcoast Stampers challenge Free 4 All which is "Sweet Empty Calories".

And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha, where they crucified Him, and two others with Him, one on either side, and Jesus in the center. Now Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross. And the writing was: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.  John 19:17-19

Have a blessed weekend and I hope you will consider keeping your focus on the great sacrifice Jesus Christ made for you and because He lives, we can live also.

Altered Manila Folder/Mini Scrapbook - Front and Back - Part 1

Hello Delightful friends and family!
I thought I'd begin to share my altered manila folder scrapbook and thought it would be easiest to break it down into "bite size" posts.

Front cover of the manila folder scrapbook: Distress Stains I used to create the background: Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold, Mustard Seed and Fired Brick.

Rosette (1" x 12") strip of card stock; Stem (1/2" strip trimmed down in length to desired size) accordion folded, glued down and then Distress Ink (Peeled Paint) blended on edges; Leaf - diecut from Taylored Expressions.  The stamped butterflies are Hero Arts, the flowers are from the Dylusions - How Does Your Garden Grow set (Ranger) and I've stamped them with Stazon jet black ink and masked to repeat. Button from my stash. Most of the designer paper I used throughout this project is from My Minds Eye.

I've used 2 Manila Folders cut in half for this project.  If I was to do it again, I'd probably only use one folder, it would have been plenty for a mini album.
Tools used: Fiskars Trimmer; Cuttlebug (ProvoCraft); Scor-Pal; Heat Tool, Blending Tool and Non-Stick Craft Sheet (Ranger); Bind-it-All with their 7/16" wire ( Zutter).
Hope you enjoy this stamping, distressing, scoring, blending, diecutting project!!  Thanks for visiting and stay tuned for Part 2.

Butterfly Inspiration - Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
Hope you are having an incredible day!  I'm excited to share a couple of tags for Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World.  Aren't these gorgeous colors, I love the jeweled tones and the butterflies! The picture reminds me of rainbow sherbert (yum!)

This is actually the second tag I made because after revisiting the inspiration photo I realized there was no purple in my original tag!  That will teach me to get crafty away from my craft room! (ha!) I "had" to watch the baseball game with the hubs so I pulled out the card table and relocated to the living room for the evening and watched a nail biter of a game, it's a wonder I was able to even concentrate on my projects!  S.F. Giants won in the 11th inning!

Ingredients: Ranger Craft Tags #8 (manila); Distress Stains: Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold, Mustard Seed, Fired Brick, Peeled Paint;  Distress Inks: Dusty Concord, Milled Lavendar; Inks: Stazon, Jet Black and Vibrant Violet;  Making Memories, Purple Potion Acrylic Paint; Sharpie Fine tip marker; Stamps: Hero Arts Butterflies; Unity (Ippity series)  Devoted; Taylored Expressions, Faith Blooms set (sentiment); paint brush, Q-tips, Mini Mister

This is the first tag I did and I really love the white space showing throughout the tag, that was also one of the "triggers" that I loved about the photo.

This photo really shows off the Perfect Pearls and the glimmer it gives that I added to the wings, not so noticable in the first shot. Ranger Liquid Pearls also added a little dimension.
Here is a list of ingredients: Ranger Craft Tags #8; Stamps: Hero Arts Butterflies; Ranger Dylusions (ribbon border) Taylored Expressions (Faith Blooms); Distress Stains: Worn Lipstick, Fired Brick, Dried Marigold, Mustard Seed; Memento tuxedo black ink; Distress Inks: Worn Lipstick; Liquid Pearls (Ranger) Cantaloupe, Flamingo; Perfect Pearls (pearl); Mini Mister

O give thanks to the Lord; For He is good: For His mercy endures forever"    Psalm 118:29

Well, that's all for me for now, be sure and come back soon and visit, I have some more tags to share!

Hello my delight friends and family!
I made this card a couple of weeks ago and keep forgetting to post it.  This is a watercolor technique I've used with Distress Inks and Distress Stains.  Both are waterbase so after applying the ink directly onto the craft sheet, (Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed - Distress inks;  Fired Brick and Peeled Paint Distress Stains); I've sprayed them with water then loaded my stamp with the mixture and then stamped onto watercolor paper.

Easy peasy and I know I'm not proficient at it but for my first attempt in a long time, I thought it turned out okay!  I love this stamp which is probably retired by now (Hero Arts) called Showy Blossoms.  My base is Bazzill card stock and then I've matted the focal piece with a smooth cream colored card stock (Taylored Expressions).  The sentiment is also from Taylored Expressions and I've used the Spellbinders Tag Trio die (cut from watercolor paper leftovers!)  I've stamped the Je t'aime with Stazon black ink (Moka Collection - Cherie stamp)  The little heart was also stamped with Stazon, then stickles added for a little bling. The heart is also from TE - Buddy Bear set. The red ribbon is American Crafts.  I've sponged around the edges with the Distress ink, Worn Lipstick.  Finished card is 4.25 x 5.5

(inside "You have my heart" from Buddy Bear set - TE)

Thanks for looking!  Hope you are having an excellent day!  God bless.

The Lord is faithful to all His promises and loving toward all He has made.  Psalms 145:13

*You're Sew Special*

Hello and don't fall off your chair from shock - I'm posting again this week!!

If you remember I mentioned that I wanted to be more consistent in writing and since Christmas and New Year's is behind me I can focus on that a bit more. Although today was not the greatest. Our darling little granddaughter Addy is sick with a fever and a nasty cough. And if Addy isn't happy then nobody is going to be happy!! I think she's practicing for when she is the "queen of the house" right now she is only in princess status. It is so true though, it's the woman who controls the "thermostat" of the home! So ladies let's remember to walk in the Spirit and not after the flesh. We will be in a much better mindset (strive to have the mind of Christ), if we remember that and our families will be much happier as well. Nothing is worse than a cranky momma! Even the Bible has something to say about that in the book of Proverbs. (check it out in Proverbs 14:1 21:9, 19 and my all time favorite Proverbs 27:15). Just know I'm sharing this in "love" I promise (!) and I'm still learning these things myself. It's good to be reminded :-)

Be sure and check out Gloria's fantastic sketch at the Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog! She is quite the crafter, you'll find her name and link to her blog on the sidebar we serve on the Design Team together at CPC. I wanted to post the sketch (CPC-ST-90) but for some reason it's teeny tiny when I uploaded it. So, I deleted it, but I did follow it almost exactly.

A few months ago I bought a digital set from Two Peas in a Bucket called Sew Crafty and here are two of the elements (image and sentiment). It's originally from the Hero Arts line. I colored it with my Copic markers and the papers are Basic Grey (design paper) Neenah bright white card stock and Bazzill, gray and blue card stock. The ribbon is from American Crafts and the button is from Foofala Buttons in a Bag. The ric rak at the bottom is an EK Success border punch called Zig Zag Stitching and I repeated it. I also ran it through my Cuttlebug using the Sizzix folder called Starry Night (coordinating with the Basic Grey paper). The finished card is 6"by 6".

Good night everyone! It's way past my bedtime and I'm expecting the grandbabies in the morning. Don't forget you are a delight to me and very *special* God bless!

Please remember the following in your prayers:
Abby
Randi
Jennipher
I don't have to go into details, the Lord knows. Thank you!

Sweet Flower Power

Good Morning and thanks for dropping by! Just getting ready to head to work but wanted to post this card and play along with two challenges this week.
First challenge is a sketch challenge Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #68 (I've turned the sketch for may take on it)

(Karen Giron's blog The Sweetest Thing)

The 2nd challenge is from Bugaboo Stamps Blog "Catch the Bug Challenge" and this week is Flower Power! I have lots of flowers on mine to qualify!!I've seen so many of the digistamp images from Bugaboo but this is the first time I've actually made it over to the store to check it out!! What fun stuff there.... I'll be back visiting and shopping there for sure!

This is my first time playing along with both of these challenges!!

I just love the papers in this card, so feminine, so girly, so pretty, so sold out at the lss!! I'm bummed but glad I bought a few extra sheets (hee-hee!) cause I want to use it in one of my granddaughter's scrapbooks! The paper is from "The Girls' Paperie" by Margie be sure and check out the gallery there!! Lots of beautiful creations. This paper is called Green Brocade and it's doublesided so that explains why there is no "brocade"! But I just loved the delicate and petite flowers on the opposite side. The colored cardstock is Bazzill. The flower is a stamp from Hero Arts on Neenah cardstock; colored with Copics markers (YG07, YG13, Y38, R20, R32, W1), the sentiment is from Unity Stamp Co. I've used Palette black ink to stamp the images and sentiment. My buttons are from Making Memories and the ribbon is Offray. I used my sewing machine to stitch and also to pierce just a little!

Well that's it for now! Thanks for looking and have a fantastic Thursday! The weekend is almost here!!

TKT25

Here are the Copics I used.

The ingredients to my card: Paper: (all cardstock, gasp!! no pattern paper!) Neenah (for the images) Bazzill and Paper Accents for the kraft and matting, I used scraps of c/s that matched the flower. Stamps: Hero Arts, "Be Happy"; Ink: Palette, black for the flowers and Distress Ink, Peeled Paint (to stamp the grass then colored with Copic Markers); Punch: Martha Stewart, picket fence; I also used Ranger Stickles, icicles for the wings on the cute little bee that was cut out and put on a dimensional. That's it for the delightful details. Thanks for looking! Have a great weekend and God bless and have a wonderful Mother's Day if I don't get back here before then.
