Word Art Wednesday - Stamp Simply!

Hello Delightful Friends!
Time for another Word Art Wednesday challenge.  The theme is Anything Goes, Family Friendly!
Hope you'll share your new creations with us and perhaps you'll win the prize from our sponsor this week, Stamp Simply! ($25)
My card features the stamp and die bundle called Man of Knowledge .  This stamp set has some great sentiments and the dies are great to have on hand too.  I've colored the image with PrismaColor Pencils and then popped it up with dimensional adhesive.  The Happy Father's Day was stamped with Sepia (Versafine Vintage Sepia)  I was tempted to add some tiny titles on the spine of the books, wouldn't that be fun or maybe a favorite authors name.  I tried to color in a way that would give some of the books an antique feel to them. Not so sure that I was successful, need to practice 😉

Other ingredients:
Burlap twine
Wonky Grid Background stamp (Taylored Expressions)
Toffee Ink and Toffee & Mocha Card Stock (TE)
Wavy Stitched Stacklets Die (TE)

Hope this finds you all well and enjoying our spring weather!
Thanks for visiting and God bless!

It Moose Be Your birthday! Seize the Birthday challenge

Hello Delightful friends and family!
I haven't played in a challenge in a loooong time!   But couldn't resist sharing this card I made my son Sean for his birthday this week.  I will be linking up at Seize the Birthday (anything goes birthday this week)

I've used three different stamps, one from Avery Elle (Woodland Wonders - trees and bird in the nest) and Lawn Fawn (Critters in the Arctic and Jump for joy) I stamped on watercolor paper (140lb cold press Strathmore) using Archival jet black ink and my Koi watercolors to color.

Thanks for visiting!

Birthday Card - Birch background

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
Here is a card with an interesting background.  I've stamped white pigment ink onto white card stock.  I hope you'll be able to see it.  I've inked around the edges with Distress Ink Antique Linen and I think that will make it a bit more obvious but it is very subtle.  It's a very cool technique and the tone on tone with the birch background stamp (Our Daily Bread Designs) gives a great masculine look.  The main dies are all from the Birch Tree Accessories (Taylored Expressions), the sentiment is also from T.E. (Goody Goody Gumballs). (I've handwritten the 50 mi) The notched border die is from MFT.  I made this card for one of the guys at church whose wife was giving him a surprise party.

I will be sharing this at Seize the Birthday (Toppings - Make your own background)

A Grill Father Birthday

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
I'ts been a hugely busy two weeks with some extra church services, work,  family activities and summer fun, too! Including two new babies born to my nieces (congrats Shae & Bobbi!!!!), my son-in-laws birthday, hiking and a bonfire with s'mores on the beach  I cannot believe I had time to squeeze in a card or two but I did!
Here is a card I made for my son-in-law Ray who loves to barbecue (and very good at it I must say!) and so this was absolutely the perfect image to color for his card.  I've used three different stamp sets but the main focal point is from Art Impressions, the sentiment is Boys Will be Boys (Taylored Expressions)

I've colored the Grill Father with Copics and paper pieced the cooking mitt.  I watched a Sandy Allnock YouTube to learn how to make the illusions of the BBQ smoke and fire.  I went with the simple version but be sure and check out Sandy's videos they are incredible!  Maybe next time I'll get brave and try the more advanced background.

The stamps inside the card: Avery Elle (sentiment from Surf's Up) and the grill is from the Taylored Expressions (Boys will be Boys); I've used Archival Jet Black ink and Hero Arts Shadow Ink Mid Tone Red Royal.
Other ingredients:
The designer paper is from the 6x6 pad from Simple Stories Summer Fresh. The base is Neenah Desert Storm card stock and I've used red Bazzill c/s to mat the focal image, Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Summer Camp Out!

Hello Delightful Friends & Family
Here is a quick post to share a card I made for a little guy in our church who had a birthday last week and a campout with some of his buddies in his big backyard that borders the forest.  Since I'm not home (still up in Oregon, tending to my momma) I can't really give you any details about the card.  Except that I did do the whitewash fence technique for the background, some masking and fussy cutting.  And I used three different stamp sets (Taylored Expressions- S'more Fun, Lawn Fawn - Happy Trails and Hero Arts-Essential Messages on the inside.)
I made this for Jakob and Addy to give to Garison which fit the theme perfectly for his summer birthday!

This card will be entered in the following challenges:
Seize the Birthday

Inside of the card:

Thanks for visiting!  Enjoy the weekend.

Whitewash Woodgrain Masculine Birthday Card

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Playing along at Seize the Sketch #22.  This card I made for my grandson's little neighbor who celebrated his 8th birthday this week.  I also tried out this new technique for the first time for the background.  I love it! So easy and quick and perfect for the summer.  Here's a link to the website to the Whitewash Woodgrain technique (thanks Gina K Designs!).

I've used stamps from Taylored Expression on the front.  The twine (Darice) the button is Corrugated Shapes (Jillibean soup - Key Ingredient embellie from T.E.)  The ink for the background is Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap) then I applied Tsukineko Brilliance (Moonlight White) over it after I had scored 1/2" lines on a piece of bright teal card stock.  Ink for the sentiments Memento (Rich Cocoa).

Inside of the card:  Another Corrugated shape from Jillibean Soup, The little car is from Lawn Fawn (Happy Trails and I've colored it with Copic markers and then embellished it with Glossy Accents.  The sentiment is from BoBunny  and the Designer Paper is MME "Boy Crazy" collection.

I'll also be sharing this card at WORD ART WEDNESDAY #137 (Anything Goes)

Thanks for visiting and have a great FRIDAY!!

Happy Birthday - better late than never!

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Long time no post, I can't tell you how hectic it's been here and I've had no energy to be on the computer to write up a blog post.  Now that the baby shower I hosted is over and preparing to speak at a Mother - Daughter Tea this past Saturday is over, I think I might be able to get those creative juices flowing again and have a bit of energy to visit and be active on my blog!  I have another project I'm working on for my niece that I really need to get busy on, her baby shower is at the end of the month!
I  have a card to share that I made last month. Here is the picture of my husband's birthday card.  I've used a Sizzix Mover and Shaper die for the focal point and the happy birthday is a Taylored Expressions stamp.

I'm sharing this card at:

A Fishy Birthday Card! (STB and SACC)

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!

My daughter asked me to make a card for her boss who likes to fish and I only had this paper and these little fish stickers (which I have been hoarding for a very long time!!) So I thought that this cabin from Taylored Expressions (Cozy Cabin) would tie them all together.  What do you think?

Love this paper, I have it in both 12x12 and the 6x6 paper pad.  It's the collection from Simple Stories called I{Heart} Summer.  I used a card stock base called Desert Storm, the local scrapbook store (where I work, see the sidebar) makes packages up with matching envelopes and it's very masculine and so convenient.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches (Sentiment Sampler).  I've colored the cabin with Copic Markers after stamping it on Neenah white card stock using Memento Rich Cocoa ink. The die is a Spellbinder Nestabilities Label 1, I've inked the edge with Distress ink (Frayed Burlap). The button is from my stash and I've added Glossy Accents to the windows, one of the fish I've cut out from the designer paper and added the glossy accents to it, too. Can you see the shiny/scaly fish? What I wanted to put there was a piece of tackle, a tied fly but it was too late to go through all my dh's fishing gear in the shed! It would have been perfect.... oh well next fishy card!

I'll be entering this card at:
Seize the Birthday Challenge (anything goes birthday)

We are expecting rain all weekend which we really need here in California, perfect excuse to stay in but our oldest grandson is celebrating his 7th birthday on Saturday so we will be heading out to be with him at Flips for Kids.  Should be a fun birthday party.  Can't wait to show the card I'm making for him!

Thanks for visiting!

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!!
I have a special card for a special guy in our family.  Today is our son Sean's birthday! In the birth order he is stuck between two sisters!  I'm not sure who benefited more Sean or the girls, I'm just thrilled that they all get along beautifully and we all live pretty close to one another.  I'm truly blessed!   Now that he is married, he and his wife have two beautiful daughters which I'm sure if you visit here often you've seen them, Riley (age 6) and Tucker (age 3).  Anyway, we are blessed to have a very loving son, who is a terrific husband (so says his wife) and a wonderful daddy!  It seems like yesterday he was playing wiffle ball in the backyard with his buddies!

Growing Old is Mandatory - STB 4

Hello Delightful friends and family!!
It's time for another masculine card for the Seize the Birthday Challenge Blog.  I was so excited to see that I had won the "Birthday Honours" badge for my last card using this same sketch. Thank you  to the Design Team for the honor!!

I chose Gus from Bugaboo Digi Stamps for this weeks masculine card.  It's always a challenge to find masculine embellies but I used my Spellbinder Nestabilities Hexagons (the smallest size and it also coordinates with the shape I've used for my image!), I cut out two and then inked the edges with Distress Inks (Peeled Paint and Salty Ocean) then added a button and the hemp cord I colored with a Copic Marker (BG96-bush).  Another added element is the Glossy Accents I added to Gus' glasses and the tiny yellow headlights.  I love the Authentique Paper (Collection: Loyal) it's perfect for a masculine card.  Bazzill card stock is used for the base and the first layer.  Neenah Bright white card stock is used for the image and sentiment. I've colored Gus with my Copic markers.
The finished size is A2.

Can you see the Glossy Accents on the glasses?

Ha! Love this funny sentiment, I have a list of guys I could send this too! (*wink**wink*)

Other ingredients used:  My Favorite Things Die-namics Fishtale Flags Stax; Distress Inks, Weathered Wood and Mowed Lawn; Darice Hemp cording; Button (Making Memories)

Thanks so much for visiting and commenting!

Today's Scripture verse I'd like to share is:
For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments.  And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world.  And this is the victory that has overcome the world---our faith.  1 John 5:3-4
