Let the Sun Shine, let the Sun Shine in...

Hello Delightful friends and family!

We are on day two of sunshine here in northern California (the real northern California, I have to add!) We are six hours north of San Francisco and still in California.... can you say ah-ha, that is north! And there is still two hours of driving left to get into Southern Oregon! I'm excited beyond belief that the mud puddles are drying up and we can actually mow the lawn, yahoo!! I hear the lawn mower even as I type.

So, it is definitely time to bring out the barbecues and invite the neighbors over. As my dh always says "if you want friends, you need to make yourself friendly" so I've made an invitation to be neighborly and invite the family next door over for a barbecue! I was inspired by by two challenges. The first one is from Play Date Cafe's color challenge this week and be sure and check out their celebrity guest designer, Courtney Baker, she is the owner and creator of Practicing Creativity stamps.

Raspberry, Aqua, Kraft & White!! Pretty colors! And I was definitely inspired by this Basic Grey paper!

PDCC#33

Can you can see how I popped up every other lantern that is paper pieced?

The second challenge is from the That's Krafty Thursday the challenge to use kraft in a card at the Spotted Chick's Blog. Definitely take a look at all the inspiration over there!

Speaking of barbecue's I've got to run! We are heading out to our granddaughters first birthday party and it's a BBQ!! See you later and thanks for looking! Have a blessed day.

Supplies:
Stamps: Unity Stamp Co (Retro BBQ...Sweet Summer Time); Designer Paper: Basic Grey; Cardstock: Bazzill, Neenah, white; Ink: Distress Ink (Broken China) Palette, black; Tools: Nestabilities Label 9; Copic Markers: BG18, W1, R37; EK Success border punch.

Easy as 1-2-3!

I'm so delighted you've visited today!
I'm playing along with three challenges. One is a new one and I've been interested in playing along for a while now. One of the blogs I visit regularly is Savannah land 2 and Savannah is hosting over there at PDCC and showing off her craft room this week so when I saw her adorable card and saw the delish colors I knew immediately I'd have to play!! So.... without further ado, go check out Play Date Cafe and Savannah Land 2 . The next challenge that I was issued was from one of my very fav in the whole world blog the Spotted Chick and the challenge is to use kraft in your project for the weekly That's Krafty Thursday Challenge #28. Well, I feel like I'm cheating 'cause you can barely even see the kraft but I promise it is there! Last but definitely not least is our very own Christian Paper Crafts Challenge for Fun on Friday!! The challenge is Easy as 1-2-3. One stamp, two embellishments (I used buttons and ribbon) and three different pattern papers.

Here is my CAS card! I love, love the soft colors of the Basic Grey Wisteria line!! So pretty, but not so great to photograph. But if you enlarge the pic you'll get a better look if you want. I used the Tim Holtz Alterations Die and my Cuttlebug to cut the final (#3) paper and distressed with ink the edges (Distress Ink, peeled paint). The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts, ink Palette, black. The cardstock is Bazzill, buttons are Basic Grey and the ribbon is Offray.

just a little close up!

Thanks for looking and have a great Saturday!! It took forever to get this posted I've been emailing and texting my daughters who are at the Tim McGraw and Lady Antebellum concert tonight!! Gotta run there is another email!

It's "That's Krafty Thursday" at the Spotted Chick!

Hey friends thanks for visiting today!
Okay, you've got to check out one of my favorite blogs in all blogland and it's the Spotted Chick.
Jeanie is so creative and fun, she always has the best images to color and her design work is so incredible and then her coloring, well let's just say color me green! You're going to love visiting her hen house! Trust me it's worth cluckin' about!! Today I'm going to venture out and join in her That's Krafty Thursday challenge. Every week the challenge is to use kraft paper in your creation! So be sure and check out her roost and let me know what you think and be sure and give her a sweet little cluck for me! Here's my card: "thanks for being my friend"

Here are the Copics I used.

The ingredients to my card: Paper: (all cardstock, gasp!! no pattern paper!) Neenah (for the images) Bazzill and Paper Accents for the kraft and matting, I used scraps of c/s that matched the flower. Stamps: Hero Arts, "Be Happy"; Ink: Palette, black for the flowers and Distress Ink, Peeled Paint (to stamp the grass then colored with Copic Markers); Punch: Martha Stewart, picket fence; I also used Ranger Stickles, icicles for the wings on the cute little bee that was cut out and put on a dimensional. That's it for the delightful details. Thanks for looking! Have a great weekend and God bless and have a wonderful Mother's Day if I don't get back here before then.
