Happy Birthday Princess Addy - 30 Day Color Challenge

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Hope all is well on this beautiful Thursday!  Today is my granddaughter Princess Addy's 6th birthday!  It is also the last day of school so that means she will be entering 1st grade in the fall.  Wow, where has the time flown.
I'll be sharing her birthday card that I finished last night - Addy is my little artist, she loves getting to choose from some of the digis I've printed out and color them right along side me with her color pencils.  She asked me yesterday if I would be coloring a "cute" girl for her birthday card!  She knows me well...

I've colored "Marci" (LaLa Land Crafts) with my Copic Markers.  She was stamped on Neenah bright white c/s and the fence was punched with the Martha Stewart fence border punch on the Neenah.  The grass is a stamp from Lawn Fawn and I've added tiny flowers from an AveryElle stamp.  Happy Birthday sentiment is a Penny Black stamp (wow, I'm really an equal opportunity stamper, lol).  I've added Wink of Stella Clear on her hair bows but it doesn't show in the photo. Inks I've used are Memento Tuxedo black, Ranger Dye Ink (/Wild Orchid and Grape Soda); Archival Ink: Magenta; Distress Marker (Picked Raspberry) faux stitching.  I just love the pattern paper from Echo Park (Bundle of Joy) and the green c/s is Bazzill. My tiny butterfly is a punch from EK Success and I had some leftover scraps from a watercolor project that I used, I added Liquid Pearls for dimension.

Here is Addy playing first base at last weekends end of the season softball tournament for the 8 and under age group. She did great and even fielded a grounder and made the put out at first.

Here we are with big brother Jake after church.

I will be sharing this card at Seize the Birthday (Topping - Animals) I hope a butterfly will qualify as an "animal" :-) and at the 30 Day Color Challenge Blog.
Thanks for visiting!

Happy Birthday Riley Ann!

Hello Delightful friends and family!
This weekend was a busy one with a Christmas program at church on Sunday (no pictures because I was too busy playing the piano!) and our granddaughter Princess Riley Ann's skating birthday party on Saturday.

Our little skater turned 7 and is quite comfortable on her roller skates!

Blowing out the candles with Princess Addy watching and cheering her on!

Here is the card I made her.  I've used a LaLa Land Crafts stamp and the Basic Grey Vivienne Collection designer paper.  I've colored this cutie with Copic markers.
Thanks for looking!!

I will be entering this at the Seize the Birthday Challenge blog (I have to edit this later to add the link).  The challenge is a birthday card (always) with Silver or Gold as a "Topping" but it is optional - my gold is the yellow/gold in the card.  I know, I know, I'm stretching it! (lol)

Thanks for looking and have a blessed week!
Keep Christ in your Christmas!

Adorable is My Middle Name - Mini Album

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Here is my second mini album I made for my niece.  This ended up to thick to add to the one I shared in the earlier post.  My intention was for this to be an interactive page inside the first mini album I made.  So, she received two instead of one but there were no complaints (lol!)

Warning: This post has a lot of pictures!

I've used the same paper as the last mini album (DCWV - Nana's Nursery Baby Boy)
Here is the link to making the base of this album: TUTORIAL.  When I made the base I thought I was using a good color to coordinate but it ended up that I hated it and so I Gesso'd the entire thing and either ink sprayed, covered with the DCWV paper or used a better color of card stock to coodinate with the designer paper. (a lot of extra work on my part which was unnecessary if I had chosen a better color card stock to start with)

I'm just going to share little bits with you because there is just too much to remember!!!
Dies: Spellbinders; Flower punch (Marvy Uchida); Faux stitching: Faber Castell Pitt white pen. The front cover closes with velcro.

I've used small white tags from Paper Accents that's I've embellished.  Stamps and ribbon: Taylored Expressions.

I've used seam binding and dyed it with Dylusions Ink Spray (Ranger) and the vine stamp is from Prima Marketing.  The border is the DCWV paper.  I've slipped in a 4"x6" piece of vellum in the place where the picture should go.

Printed words next to hippo sticker below is computer generated and printed on a transparency.

Notes and Date are a Lawn Fawn Alpha stamp set. Border die (My Favorite Things), each tag has this on the backside for journaling.

Tag stamped with "Cutie Pie" (Unity Stamp Co.) Flower border (Taylored Expressions) and Grass (Lawn Fawn.  Photo Corners: Marvy Uchida Punch.

"Adorable" quote computer generated printed on Vellum (font: Cutie Patootie); Fishtail banner die (MFT) I double stamped the lion on patterned paper twice and fussy cut the head and used a dimensional to pop it out a bit.  I don't remember the paper I used but it worked well and he turned out so cute!!  I used a Copic marker to color the mane.  The background was ink sprayed with Ranger Dylusions Ink (vibrant turquoise, dirty martini and white linen) and I'm loving this combination.  It's even prettier in person.
I think the woodgrain paper is Simple Stories and I cut the extra strip at the top and bottom to make it look like a fence.  Distressed with ink on the edges.  The banner is the MFT die.  WeR Memory Keepers bakers twine to string the banner.  I was inspired by a scrapbook page on Pinterest for this layout.

So, if you made it this far, thanks for sticking with this picture heavy post.  I hope you are inspired! If you have any questions please be sure to leave them in the comment section and I'll try and answer them for you.

I will be sharing this at Word Art Wednesday #136 Anything Goes.

Today is my little granddaughter Addy's 5th birthday!  Can't believe she will be starting kindergarten in the fall! I took this picture today as she was heading out the door on the way home.

It's In the Bag! Showered with Love card

Hello Delightful friends and family!
I have a baby shower card to share today.
I've used the Taylored Expressions stamp and matching die called It's in the Bag.
I've had the paper for ages and I'm not sure where I got it.  I've used Memento Nautical blue ink to stamp the pacifier and sentiment.  I tore a little piece of tissue and added it to the bag.  A Faber Castell Pitt Artist pen was used to add the faux stitching and the border punch is called Upper Crest by Fiskars.

I'm entering this card at Crafts Galore Encore Challenge - use a stamp or digi stamp on your project

My niece Bobbi opening up her gifts at the shower. She is expecting her first.
It was fun to spend some time with my sister's family in Oregon!
Both my nieces (sisters) Bobbi (baby boy) & Shae (baby girl) posing their baby bumps for me.
They are due in August!
This cutie patootie is Laurel my great niece (Shae's youngest) who will be a big sister in August but for now is little sister to Quentin.

That's it for me, thanks for visiting!

Happy Birthday Sweet and Sassy, Addy!

Hello Delightful friends and family!  Wow it's been over a month of lots of activities that kept me out of the craft room and away from my blog.  But with my little granddaughter turning four (Addy) I of course had to make her a card.  This  was inspired by the Wednesday sketch challenge at the MFT blog (MFTWSC127 ).  I didn't make the deadline to post today but that's okay, but I still want to give credit for the the great sketch inspiration.
We had Addy's party on Saturday (however, her birthday is today) so I thought it would be fun to share some of the pictures.

Here is the card I made her.  Love the Pure Innocence stamp set.  It fits little Miss Addy-tude to a "t".  I've colored the image with Copic Markers and paper pieced her outfit. At the end of this post has the rest of the "ingredients."

WHEEEE!!!

Addy told us that she wanted a Fishing rod for her birthday so guess what?  She got a fishing rod plus a tackle box, flotation vest, hat and of course some gummy worms for....bait! ha!

She blew out her candles, no problem!

Here she is all happy and ready to head to the river or lagoon for some fishin' time with Poppa!  They are making plans to go very soon!!

 Sassy & Sweet Card:  Stamp Set, My Favorite Things (Feeling Sassy);
Bazzill card stock, Designer Paper: Echo Park Sweet Girl 6x6 pack; Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa and Distress Ink, Worn lipstick. Spellbinders Nestabilities Circle and Scallop Circle; MFT Die-Namics, Fish Tail Stax Die, Cuttlebug and Embossing folder and lots of Copic Markers to color!

Thanks for looking, hopefully it won't be a month inbetween posts!  I've missed you all!

Secret Garden Tea Party

Hello Delight Friends and Family,
Just a warning, this is a long post with lots of pictures featuring the Tea Party I hosted for my mom's 75th birthday.  Hope this gives you some fun ideas or at least inspires you to have a tea party.  It was a lot of fun.

A "before" the tea party, picture.

This is the little girls table!
I designed the simple placemats for the little girls to give them something to color. They are 11x17 white card stock.  I used Microsoft Publisher and found the teapot clipart on that site but I believe the lace-y edges are from digital images I had (sorry don't remember from where).  All of the napkins used were homemade.  The fabric came from JoAnn's  and were originally from the tea party we had at the church about 3 years ago.  Ironically, my mom had forgotten that she was the one who had stitched all the edges of the napkins for me!  The picture doesn't show the chairs but I took two pieces of  tulle and tied a bow on the back of each of their chairs.

I had purchased Monster Inc themed crayons (JoAnn's) and recovered them with the Graphic 45 Secret Garden paper and then tied the group with tulle and added a matching punched butterfly.

The garden bunny is from an old set of three bunnies from Home Interiors that I've had for ages.  The vase is a set also from Home Interiors (BH&G line) that are made for place setting cards.  I used the quote cards from the G45 paper that are from the book "The Secret Garden"

I found this pretty picture online as I was browsing Pinterest and thought that it would be perfect for the party.  I used Microsoft Publisher to design the 11x17 flyer and added the wording in Scriptina font.  I've printed it on white card stock and the background color is a light lavender.  I also designed a food and tea menu using the matching colors and fonts.

This was a large piece of card board that I used to make a backdrop of a garden wall, with flowers and secret door to go along with the theme.  Addy (age 3 1/2) helped me with the flowers.  She stamped a few and then I had her do some thumbprint flowers.  I used stamps (Dylusions How does your garden grow and Further Around the Edge), stencils (Plaid brand) and acrylic paints (Making Memories, Ranger Distress Paints, Claudine Hellmuth's Studio Paints) and a couple of Prismacolor pencils.

The tulle I purchased from JoAnn Fabrics (it was narrow, on a roll for under $3. I think there was approx. 20 yards per roll), I used three different colors throughout the room: green, pink, lilac.  I tied knots on the long piece that was used for the table centerpieces.  It was a simple way to add color and not take up too much space.

I made favors for each guest from the Graphic 45 paper. It's a tea bag holder.  The band that holds it closed had a layered paper flower (Tattered Flower Die and the mini Tattered flower - Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations & Movers and Shapers; Leaf Die: Taylored Expressions.  The center part of the flower was a scallop circle that I cut out in a spiral and then rolled to make the flower. I added a key to each one to keep with the theme and matched the paper perfectly!

Inside shows the tea bag.  Each was a little different, there were no two alike.  I wish I had taken a picture of my favorites!

Onto the food... pictures only no recipes.  You can find many of the recipes on my Pinterest board Tea Party Food and Decor.
Yes, I was one cookin' fool for two days.  Yummy stuffed strawberries, cucumber sandwiches, croissants,  mini cream cheese bites, kiwi and cataloupe and lots of desserts.

Mini cupcakes - decorated with homemade fondant, Cream wafer cookies (love this recipe - not on Pinterest so I thought I should mention that).

The top two layers are Petit Fours from Costco that my sister order for the party.  They were DELISH!!!!  A little pricey but definitely pretty and melt in your mouth good!  The bite sized cinnamon cheesecakes were a big hit!
I used a sunflower cookie cutter to make the shaped sandwiches (egg salad).  I took a long slender loaf of french bread cut it into bite sizes and these were so easy and very good, I used a harvest flavored cream cheese spread then added a thinly sliced English cucumber and a little piece of fresh dill.  Easy peasy and so yummy!  I also served a turkey, cheese with veggies croissant (a tea party favorite!)

Tucker Lynn the little fashionista!

After tea... Do you know how hard it is to get 4 little girls to stand still, especially after filling up with petit fours, cream wafers and cupcakes??  I gave up after this picture (which this was probably the 12th take) so I do not have a picture of them with their great grandma, affectionately called GeeGee, which was going to be the next photo :-(  I should have taken more "before" pictures!
Since this was a tea party, I'd be remiss to not share the teas I served!
Here's the list:  White Peony, Oolong, Lady Grey, Jerusalem Mint with Pomegranite, Vanilla Blackberry Sage, Green Tea, Lemon Ginger, Honeybush and Chai Tea Latte.

All in all it was a wonderful time with the "girls" and we were able that evening to share with family and friends a surprise dinner party for my mom.  And she was indeed surprised!!

Thanks for visiting and sticking with this very long post!
Hey, it's good to be back but I think it's going to be short-lived because I'm heading to Oregon in a couple of days with a friend to a Living Proof Event which features one of my favorites, Beth Moore!  When I get back from that we will be having company for a week.  Our good friend Darrell (more family than friend) is coming for a week and preaching at our church for three nights but staying for about a week. Boy, who can I get to clean my house?!! Maybe I can coax my youngest to give me a helping hand!! Makes it difficult to be "crafty" knowing I need to prepare for a guest, so I hope by the second week in May perhaps then I'll be able to get back into my craft room!
Have a great week!!
