WAW Challenge #310 and #311

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Delightful friends and family!
I have so much to be thankful for and it's so important that we take time to reflect on that, not just today or this season but everyday.  Perhaps if we have a grateful mindset there would be more kindness in the world, especially if we keep in mind as believers that we are doing everything (word and deed) to bring glory and honor to the Lord Jesus Christ.  Our Scripture Art today expresses that very sentiment.

Here is my card to share today for Word Art Wednesday and I'm a day late in posting so I apologize to my WAW Design team.  It's been crazy hectic here and I lost track of my days!

This is a very simple card to reproduce and would make a nice gift set by just changing up the sentiment and ribbon or the color scheme.  I've use a stencil to create the background. The stencil is from Ranger a Dylusions small stencil called Fronds of Foliage and by using earthtone colors I've given this an Autumn feel.  The inks I've used are: Distress inks Crushed Olive, Shabby Shutters, Forest Moss, Fossilized Amber, Fired Brick and Vintage Photo to blend around the edges. I added a bow using Darice Hemp Cording and a brown gingham check.  The Scripture Art was printed then diecut using the Cross Stitched Square (Cottage Cutz), I've matted the Scripture with a dark brown card stock. The card base is Neenah Desert Storm card stock and it's an A2 size with a side fold.

I hope you'll take time to play along, the challenge is open for two weeks and there are prizes to win!! Check it out HERE.  Just remember that it's a family friendly anything goes challenge and you can link up to 5 new projects!
Thanks so much for visiting and have a blessed not stressed week!!

Planted by the Waters - WAW #188

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Wow, summer is upon us, graduations are behind us, it's been a busy time and I'm looking forward to the lazy days of summer (yeah, right?!) in my dreams anyway!! I love the Scripture this week from Jeremiah 17:8 it reminds me of Psalm 1 (I'll share it at the end of the post).  Hope you can join us and share your art with us at Word Art Wednesday (Anything Goes - Family Friendly)

Here are the details to my card:
The stencil I used is a Wendy Vecchi Studio 490 called Layered Tree and I've used Liquitex molding paste colored with Peeled Paint and Frayed Burlap (Distress Inks).  I sprinkled the wet paste with clear embossing powder and when it dried I then used the heat gun to melt the embossing powder.  (I think I saw this tutorial on Jennifer McGuire's blog). I fussy cut the tree and set it aside, then with the Stitched Hillside Borders (Lawn Fawn) I diecut the card stock and made the scene on the Neenah Desert Storm card base.  The Word Art was printed on vellum.

Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.  Psalm 1:1-3

CAS - Thinking of You

Hello Delightful friends and family!
We enjoyed a beautiful day here in northern California.  Thankfully the wind has died down and it was really a pretty day.  It was so nice this evening I didn't even need a blanket or the extra hoodie at Jakob's little league game, I don't leave home without them!

Here is a CAS card I made using Distress inks, a MFT's stencil, Lawn Fawn stamp (grass from Gnome Sweet Gnome)  and Ranger watercolor paper. The sentiment is from a Taylored Expressions stamp using Archival Jet Black ink.  The card base is Neenah Desert Storm.

The Distress Inks I've used are Peeled Paint and Mowed Grass for the stems and grass.  Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled Glass are the colors I've used for the blossoms.  I used the Ranger water brush which I love working with and I am really enjoying this watercolor technique using stencils!

I will be sharing this at Word Art Wednesday #183  Family Friendly card
and CAS on Sunday #58 Cheer up Buttercup (make a card to brighten someone's day)

Thanks so much or visiting!

Camouflaging Dies - Word Art Wednesday

Hello!!
Hope this day is going well for you, I'm preparing to head out for a little league game but wanted to get this card posted real quick like!
It's a stenciled background (Tim Holtz Flourishes) and I've used 3 different Distress Inks on the card.  (Chipped Sapphire, Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass) and then I masked off the lines with painters tape and used the Chipped Sapphire and Tumbled Glass to make the strips of color.  The die is from Lawn Fawn (Thanks) and the technique is from Here called Camouflaging Dies.  (sorry the pics so bad I took this at night and I usually do the photos outside in better lighting.)

Here is a better look at the dimension of the Thanks sentiment die. I diecut the thanks directly from the inked up paper and set it aside with all the little pieces and then I diecut 3 more in white card stock to stack them up and adhered them together to make it pop, then I added the last "thanks" that matched up with the design of the card.

I will be sharing this at Word Art Wednesday #181 (Anything Goes - Family Friendly)

Thanks for visiting, I'm off to the ballgame!

I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.  Galatians 2:21

Christmas Tags - Day 3 (Totally PaperCrafts Challenge 96)

Hello Delightful friends and family!  We woke up to a very light dusting of snow this morning!  Very unusual for us being very close to sea level and it will be gone in a couple of hours but it sure looks pretty.

Day 3 of my Christmas tags!  These are a couple of favorites, I love all the texture, the different backgrounds using a stencil (Holly & Ivy - Tim Holtz) on the first and a stamp (Greeting Farms) on the second one.  Same inks and glimmer sprays and techniques as days 1 and 2). I've added a few new inks (Distress inks:  Bundled Sage and Weathered Wood and Tsukineo Brilliance Moonlight White in the Dew Drop line and Distress Paint Chipped Sapphire)

The "Believe" and fussy cut Holly is from a stamp set that I've had for awhile and I do not know the company.  The sentiment comes from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I've die cut the flag using MFT die-namics Fishtail Banner Stax. And I've scattered a little bit of Liquid Pearls throughout.
The second tag sentiment is from Inkadinkado and is wood mounted.  The snowflake is a punch that I've inked up with Distress Ink Frayed Burlap and then added Glossy Accents. The jar is a stamp and die set from Taylored Expressions. I've added a little bit of burlap for texture and the Designer Paper is WR Memory Keepers Winter Frost.

I'm entering these in Totally Papercrafts (anything Christmassy except for cards) Challenge #96

Thanks for visiting and stay tuned for Day 4 of my Christmas tags.  Heading to the Ladies Christmas Party Luncheon shortly, I hope they like the tags!
