Spring Friends - Word Art Wednesday #328 and #329

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
I have a card to share today featuring this cute Spring Friends digital image from Bugaboo Stamps! Bugaboo Stamps is one of our sponsor for Word Art Wednesday this week. Our second sponsor is The Project Bin Thanks to our sponsors for providing fun prizes for our challenge! You can share 5 projects each week for our Anything Goes - Family Friendly challenge!

I thought this was such a cute image for spring time. I've colored it with Prismacolor Pencils on Neenah bright white card stock. I got brave after coloring and took a pencil and began to make "fur texture" on the bunny. I saw a tutorial video on Sandy Allnock's blog and have been itching to try it! I then fussy cut it and adhered it to the card front.  The Scripture Art I popped up with dimensional tape. I die cut the verse using an older Hero Arts Die (Sweet Day Stamp & Die set), it was the perfect size. I used a piece of 6"x 6" cut to 4" x 5.25" from the Penny Black Beau Jardin Designer paper pad for the front of the card. The soft gray background and multi-colored polka dots were a perfect match for some of the colors I used on the image. The hot pink card stock was in my stash and I cut a piece 4.25" x 5.5" and then 2 strips .25" x 5.25" and measured .25" from the edge of the designer paper.

Here is our Scripture Art below that you are more than welcome to use (isn't this a great verse!) so many key words that would make a great word study. We have so many wonderful study tools to be able to really examine the Scriptures and meditate on them.  Too many times we want to take the yoke Jesus has for us but then we try to refashion it to "fit" us better.  What a mess that can make! He wants us to find our rest in Him, when we begin to know Him and get an understanding of His love for us and His desire for us to follow Him wholeheartedly we truly can find the rest He has provided for us.  There is so much in this verse, I challenge you to do a word study and get to know our Savior better.  Grow in your knowledge and as you grow in Jesus you will experience His Presence which helps each of us to walk in the Spirit and you will find such delight as you learn to trust and obey God's Word. To God be the all the glory!
Thanks for visiting and have a blessed week and a very blessed Resurrection Sunday!

He Keeps His Promises - Word Art Wednesday (282 & 283)

Hello Delightful friends and family!
I have a fun digital image to share today for the Word Art Wednesday Challenge. It is one of our sponsor's Bugaboo Stamps cute creation called Fun Flowers.  I teamed it up with an older stamp from Gina K Designs that I love and haven't used nearly enough called Holiday Baskets.  I pulled out my Prismacolor Pencils for this one!  Hope you will link up and play along with our Anything Goes - Family Friendly Challenge, you can link  up to 5 different projects!

Additional supplies on card:
Neenah white card stock
Ribbon - American Crafts
Uniball Signa white gel pen
Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle die
Odorless Mineral Spirits and blender

The Scripture art on the card is from Genesis 28:15 "And, behold, I am with thee and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoke to thee of."
God is making a promise to Jacob and tells him that He will bring him back to the land. The land which God had made a covenant promise with Abraham and Isaac.  When you think about the state that Jacob is in when God renews the covenant promise you realize the faithfulness of God.  Jacob has just lied to his father Isaac, agrees to a deceitful plan with his mother (Jacob was her favorite) and is running from his family in fear of his brothers revenge for stealing away his inheritance.  It was a real mess. This was one very dysfunctional family!  But isn't that the time the Lord shows up? Right in the midst of our messes? Indeed! It shows the lengths that God goes to keep us in the palm of His hand.  Jacob had to go through a lot of trials before returning to his homeland but it was a time of dealing with some very difficult strongholds in his life and he ends up years later wrestling with the Lord and finally is marked both spiritually and physically after that encounter.  He even gets a name change and faces his fears and the Lord truly shows His faithfulness to him.
Perhaps you feel your life is in a real mess right now.  You can know that the Lord will minister to your need and get you through it.  But you must trust Him and His sovereignty.  He wants you to have hope!  There must be a deliberate effort on your (and mine) part to trust the Lord to direct your path.  As a matter of fact He want us to be diligent in setting our minds on things above rather than on our circumstances and the distractions they cause.  The deeper you immerse yourself in God's Word and His promises the more you will grow in faith and in the knowledge of God. This knowledge isn't necessarily head knowledge but heart knowledge - know the Author of the Word! That's what Jacob experienced when he wrestled with the Lord. What a difference in our outlook when we begin to apply God's Word and see His faithfulness exhibited in our lives.
It all starts by humbling ourselves before Him and believing on the Lord Jesus Christ.  If you haven't done that perhaps that is why you are reading this right now.  The Lord is tugging on your heart to receive Him as Lord and Savior, please don't wait another minute! Once you invite Him into your heart it's important to tell someone. The Lord has made is simple for us, we must first admit we are sinners, then believe that God has raise Jesus from the dead, confess that He is Lord and then begin a journey with Him you will never regret. I know I have never regreted that decision, not once!

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed week!

Happy Birthday, Jakob! Seize the birthday #8

Hello Delightful friends and family
Here's our little guy who is turning a big 6 years old.  He loves camo and anything military (typical boy!) so I've made a birthday card that I have a feeling he will like a lot (as much as a six year old can like - this grammie totally gets it!)

Here is the sketch from seize the Birthday that I used for this card.

inside
Ingredients:  Bugaboo Digi stamps; Reminisce Stickers (American Hero signature series); Misc Alpha stickers; Copic Markers; Bazzill and Neenah card stock; Cuttlebug embossing folder, stars; Distress Inks: Frayed burlap; MFT - Die Namics Notched border. I'm not sure of the manufacturer of the designer desert camo paper.

Thanks so much for visiting and you can be sure I'll be sharing more pictures of the birthday boy after his party tonight!

This is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it.  Psalm 118:24

Growing Old is Mandatory - STB 4

Hello Delightful friends and family!!
It's time for another masculine card for the Seize the Birthday Challenge Blog.  I was so excited to see that I had won the "Birthday Honours" badge for my last card using this same sketch. Thank you  to the Design Team for the honor!!

I chose Gus from Bugaboo Digi Stamps for this weeks masculine card.  It's always a challenge to find masculine embellies but I used my Spellbinder Nestabilities Hexagons (the smallest size and it also coordinates with the shape I've used for my image!), I cut out two and then inked the edges with Distress Inks (Peeled Paint and Salty Ocean) then added a button and the hemp cord I colored with a Copic Marker (BG96-bush).  Another added element is the Glossy Accents I added to Gus' glasses and the tiny yellow headlights.  I love the Authentique Paper (Collection: Loyal) it's perfect for a masculine card.  Bazzill card stock is used for the base and the first layer.  Neenah Bright white card stock is used for the image and sentiment. I've colored Gus with my Copic markers.
The finished size is A2.

Can you see the Glossy Accents on the glasses?

Ha! Love this funny sentiment, I have a list of guys I could send this too! (*wink**wink*)

Other ingredients used:  My Favorite Things Die-namics Fishtale Flags Stax; Distress Inks, Weathered Wood and Mowed Lawn; Darice Hemp cording; Button (Making Memories)

Thanks so much for visiting and commenting!

Today's Scripture verse I'd like to share is:
For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments.  And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world.  And this is the victory that has overcome the world---our faith.  1 John 5:3-4

Camo Birthday Card for Jakob - CPS254

Hello Delightful friends and family,
Tomorrow is our grandson Jakob's 5th birthday!  His birthday party is a camo/military themed party so I thought I'd make a themed card for him.

The sketch I've used is from Card Positioning Systems this week. It is sketch #254.

The image is a Digi stamp from Bugaboo Stamps. Designer Paper is Reminisce (Hunter's Camo - The Great Outdoors) and Creative Imaginations, the colored card stock is Bazzill. The button is from Basic Grey (Wisteria collection) and the fiber is Darice Hemp Cording.

(CPS 254)

Colored with Copics (E0000, E11, E25, E33, YG91, YG93, YG93, YG95, YG97, BG96, BG0000, C0, C01), framed out with Spellbinders Reverse Wonky Rectangle (Nestabilities) and sponged with Pumice Stone Distress Ink.

I created the sentiment on the computer and printed it out on Neenah Bright White Card Stock (Spellbinders Reverse Wonky Recktangle) The finished card is 6 x 6.

This was today after playing in the mud and goofying off in front of this grammie's camera. Needless to say, he and Addy both had to strip down and I had to wash all of their clothes!

But Jesus called them to Him and said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it."  Luke 18:16-17

Thanks so much for visiting and have a blessed day!

Happy Birthday!

Hello Delightful friends and family!

Today is my son, Sean's birthday! So in honor of his day, I made him a card (duh!) but I love the sentiment on the inside "Growing Up is Optional" now I'm not saying Seanie needs to grow up (he's 32 and married, has two adorable daughters and a decent job) but I will say there are moments when you can see the little boy peeking out from behind that scruffy beard he has decided to grow. So this fun image I thought would be just a silly way of celebrating his "maturity" level or lack thereof! Happy Birthday, Sean - love you lots (as you already know!)

The sketch from The Sweet Stop Challenge blog may be familiar, it's from the last post! But this fun digi image and sentiment is from Bugaboo Stamps and this is Gus. This is one in a series. Take a moment and check out the website and see the other creations by Jodi Mackrell. They are hilarious. I know what digi I'll be choosing for my mom's birthday!!

Ingredients:

Designer paper: My Minds Eye "Fine and Dandy"; Card stock, Bazzill and Neenah bright white. I've colored the image with my Copics and the image was cut with a Nestie (lg deckled rectangle); Ribbon is from American Crafts. I also used Glossy Accents on Gus' glasses and the #7 on his "vehicle." Finished card 5.5 x 4.25

Thanks for looking and have a blessed week!
Please keep the following in your prayers: Abby, Jennipher, Randi, my grandbabies that are sick with coughs and fever and one with the stomach flu. Thanks!

Sweet Flower Power

Good Morning and thanks for dropping by! Just getting ready to head to work but wanted to post this card and play along with two challenges this week.
First challenge is a sketch challenge Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #68 (I've turned the sketch for may take on it)

(Karen Giron's blog The Sweetest Thing)

The 2nd challenge is from Bugaboo Stamps Blog "Catch the Bug Challenge" and this week is Flower Power! I have lots of flowers on mine to qualify!!I've seen so many of the digistamp images from Bugaboo but this is the first time I've actually made it over to the store to check it out!! What fun stuff there.... I'll be back visiting and shopping there for sure!

This is my first time playing along with both of these challenges!!

I just love the papers in this card, so feminine, so girly, so pretty, so sold out at the lss!! I'm bummed but glad I bought a few extra sheets (hee-hee!) cause I want to use it in one of my granddaughter's scrapbooks! The paper is from "The Girls' Paperie" by Margie be sure and check out the gallery there!! Lots of beautiful creations. This paper is called Green Brocade and it's doublesided so that explains why there is no "brocade"! But I just loved the delicate and petite flowers on the opposite side. The colored cardstock is Bazzill. The flower is a stamp from Hero Arts on Neenah cardstock; colored with Copics markers (YG07, YG13, Y38, R20, R32, W1), the sentiment is from Unity Stamp Co. I've used Palette black ink to stamp the images and sentiment. My buttons are from Making Memories and the ribbon is Offray. I used my sewing machine to stitch and also to pierce just a little!
