Stretch Your Sketch #8

Surprise surprise! Hope all my delightful friends and family are having a blessed day! What is the surprise? Well... I did a scrapbook page, can you believe it? It's been months since I've done a page AND tomorrow is NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY! Does your community have a local scrapbook store that is celebrating? Well, I happen to work at a lss and we are having a tropical theme and having lots of fun planned for the day. I hope you will take time to support your local store!
I did not do a page just because it's NSD but I thought I'd best get myself in gear and start getting my youngest granddaughter's book started. She's already 6 months old (and a darlin' too) . Molly our hostess for Stretch Your Sketch at Christian Paper Crafts chose a fun sketch from Gloria Stengel and this is my take on it!

Thanks for looking and leaving a delightful comment! If you can, support a locally owned scrapbook store (there are so few anymore!) tomorrow or better yet every week!! :-)

Fall Colors, masking technique

Happy Saturday to you!! Welcome back Delightful friends and family!!
I'm on a roll, three layouts in the month of September (whoo-hoo!!) AND they are of each grandchild, no favorites shown here!! :-) I'd best get busy because another one is due the first week of November!
This layout is for the challenge at Christian Paper Crafts by the Scrapbook Specialists. Each month will be a different technique to try. This month is MASKING. So I punched out some leaves (embossed leaf punch made by Marvy Uchida) and "masked away" using a Adirondack Dabber (Hazelnut) and a paint brush to blend a bit making the bottom border of my layout. Then I added the buttons (Foof a La Bag of Buttons) in a sequence to give the border more of a finished look, I've strung them using hemp cording (Darice). The Designer Paper is from BoBunny called "U Bug Me Dot" and the cardstock is either Bazzill or Paper Accents (or both!)

Close up of the border and also I've handwritten (Zig black pen) the journaling because I think it personalizes it - I don't always do this but probably 90% of the time I do. I love seeing my grandmothers handwriting so I think it will make it special in the future. The metal leaf brads I've had for a while and I'm sorry I'm not sure who made them.

Well, I think that's it for the day. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Please remember the Lord's Day and spend some time enjoying the fellowship with other believers as you worship the King of kings and take time to love the Lord with all your heart!! To God be all the glory!

Thanks for stopping by and I love reading your delightful comments!
