Happy Birthday Grill Master -CPS #277

Hello again and happy Friday!!
Today is my son in law's birthday (Ray) and he's definitely the grill master of the family (I must admit, I take a distant 2nd place to him!) Here is a card I made for him and will be inserting a gift card inside, since he's not that easy to buy for! (sorry Ray, but you aren't!)  Jakob and Addy made him cards yesterday but I sent them home with them and should have posted them here too!  We will be surprising him at the ice cream parlor for dessert before he and Kelly go out to dinner tonight - they are heading to their favorite steakhouse where he is not doing the grilling!  He was told that Jake and Addy wanted to have ice cream with him but little does he know that the rest of us are showing up as well! SURPRISE!!

Here is the sketch I followed from Card Positioning Systems:

Ingredients:  Stamp: Taylored Expressions - Boys will be boys set; Hero Arts, Sending Smiles Message clear set (inside);  Designer Paper: Authentique-Loyal collection; Ink Memento Tuxedo Black, Teal Zeal and Northern Pine; Colored with Copic Markers; Heidi Swapp Distress Tool; Spellbinders Nestablities Oval Scallop. Dimensionals to pop up the barbecue and flame.

Thanks for visiting and Happy Birthday, Ray!

Neon Happy Birthday - CPS#276 and Scrappin' N Style #3

Happy Friday to all my Delightful friends and family!!
Hope you have an excellent weekend ahead of you.  I'm working on Saturday at the local scrapbook store (usually I only work there on Mon. and Tues.)  I was needed to fill in until the new girl gets trained, which I'm happy help out. It does make the weekend very short though!

Here is a card I made for Amy's Style challenge #3 at Scrappin' N Style.  Hope you'll check out her blog and challenges.  She is the Cricut go-to girl around here!  Her color challenge inspires using neon colors and then to make it sweet, so here we go!  This was definitely a challenge for me!  Here is the sketch from Card Positioning Systems  this week is #276

The Stamp set I've used on the front of the card is from Taylored Expressions : Build a Treat.  I've used Memento Love Letters ink to stamp the sentiment and Archival Ink in Venetian Orange to stamp the cone and topping.  The background paper is Die Cuts With A View (it's an older 8x8 pad, I'm sorry I cannot remember the name but it had something to do with sweets!). The card stock is Bazzill (Bubble gum and Limeade).  I've used Neenah bright white to stamp my sentiment and add the ice cream cone diecuts to. (Build a treat matching dies from TE).  I've also used the Neenah card stock as a base for my panel that was created using the Dylusions Ink Sprays ( Bubblegum Pink and Fresh Lime) and it also is the ice cream! The ribbon is from my stash.  I drew the white lines with a white Sharpie Paint pen. Spellbinders Nestabilities Deckled rectangles is the die used to cut the focal panel.

Inside sentiment: Gina K Designs (One in a Million) and the ice cream cone is a Unity Stamp (Retro BBQ... sweet summertime). Copic markers to color and Memento Tuxedo Black to stamp and white Sharpie Paint pen to outline.

Thanks a lot for visiting today and hope you have an excellent weekend!

Fresh Flowers and Grace!

Hello Delightful friends and family,
Just a quick post to share a couple of items that I made.  The first is a tag that I made for Word Art Wednesday #38. The challenge is "Never Give Up" well, the word "grace" has so much meaning for me. Especially knowing that even though I don't deserve God's grace, He has generously given it to me through my Lord Jesus Christ and that makes me want to persevere and not give up.  He doesn't give up on me!!  It is definitely transforming and so I've included a butterfly on this tag, what better way to describe a transformed life - catapillar to butterfly.  So glad the caterpillar doesn't give up the battle with the cocoon!
If you are facing a battle, don't give up. Reach up and know the Lord is there ready to extend His hand of grace to help in the time of your need.

Here are the ingredients: Tag, (4.25 x 5.5) Paper Accents; Inks: Distress Inks and stains, Tumbled Glass and Shabby Shutters; Distress Pen: Faded Jeans; Ranger Clear Embossing powder, Perfect Pearls Mist (Mint), Paint Dabber (Lettuce); Archival Ink: Aquamarine; Memento Ink: Pear Tart;
Stamps: Hampton Arts (Beautiful butterfly); Taylored Expressions (Grace); Grass (Stencil from Plaid Folkart, Dragonflies).

My second project is a card and I used Amy's color inspiration photo Scrapin N Style #2 and Card Positioning Systems #275 sketch.

Amy said on her blog about the color challenge to " think fresh" and what's better than fresh flowers and a smile!!
Here are my list of ingredients:
Paper: Echo Park Summer Days collection (the larger flowers are actually paper pieced with one of the papers and the smaller ones colored with Copic Markers); Card Stock: Bazzill;  Stamps: Gina K Designs (One In a Million set); Ink: Memento, Tuxedo Black ; Dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities: Large Deckled Rectangles and Standard Circles; Buttons (stash) and Ribbon, American Crafts.

Hope you have a wonderful day and thanks so much for visiting!

There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1    now that's grace :-)

Butterfly Thanks - CPS #274

Hello and hope you are all having a delightful Saturday!!
It's actually drizzly today (so far) and I haven't had to water my plants all week due to our liquid sunshine. Today will be a good day to continue the organizing of my craft room and hopefully squeeze in a project, too.  I bought new batteries for my labeler and I've been going to town!  I've also been visiting some organization and craft rooms on Pinterest. Oh my goodness, the ideas are flowing....

Today I did want to get this card posted for the CPS sketch challenge before the deadline this afternoon!  It's a fun and simple sketch so this was pretty quick in putting together.  I did embellish the design a bit from the original but I think this is a great "go to" sketch.

Here are the ingredients and then it's back to organizing!!!

Stamps: Ippity Devoted (Unity) and Bugabee (Taylored Expressions - sentiment); Ink: Memento Tuxedo black; Distress Inks: Worn lipstick, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, (all those colors were incorporated into the butterfly after it was embossed with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder and stamped with a Versamark watermark pad. Designer Paper: Best Creation, Inc: Sunny Days Collection and Basic Grey Going Green Collection (hot pink paper); Bazzill Card Stock; Dies: Spellbinders, circles and scallop circles; MFT Die-namics: Notched Border and Fishtail Flags STAX; Queen and Company Twinkle Goosebumps adhesive stones. Finished card: A2 (4.25 x 5.5)

Thanks for looking and have a blessed weekend!!

I will meditate on Your precepts and regard Your ways.  Psalm 119:15

Pray Hope Trust - Moxie Fab and CPS #265

Hello Delightful friends and family
It's a new week and new opportunities to pray, hope and trust the Lord.  One of my fav Scriptures is in Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path."   I don't know about you but there are too many times I don't see the big picture and I need the Lord's wisdom and direction.  Thankfully, He is faithful to honor His Word and help us when we call on Him! The above verse doesn't say He might direct us but "He shall direct" are you listening for His direction?  Lord, help us to have hearing ears!

My card today is inspired by a few things.  First, a sketch challenge at Card Positioning Systems and I was also delighted to see an opportunity to use my Mini Motiff stamps from Taylored Expressions for the challenge at Moxie Fab World (using Damask or Brocade).

When I saw this sketch I knew the exact stamp I was going to use and it's  from Gina K Designs called Lacy Borders (it's brand spankin' new this month!)

Well, I didn't follow the sketch exactly but you know these cards can have a mind of their own ;-)  I was attempting to keep it CAS.

This pic shows off this Lacy Border stamp and it's details a bit better.  So cool!! When I first saw this stamp I knew that I would want to try to emboss it and so this is my first attempt at embossing this longer stamp and I'm very pleased how it turned out.

I'm also sharing this card over at Word Art Wednesday #27. I didn't use the verse that was shared (it's not required to) but I thought the sentiment fit with the challenge verse well.

No designer paper was used on this card only card stock.  The base is Bazzill and so is the Dusk Gray.  The white card stock is Neenah bright white and I used it to stamp the mini motiff and then cut a larger piece to mat it. The ink I've used is Memento tuxedo black and I've used VersaMark watermark stamp pad and clear embossing powder from Ranger to stamp the lace.  The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions - Faith in Bloom set and the ribbon is from a TE Key Ingredient kit.

Thanks for visiting today!  Have a great week.

Baby Basket - CPS #264

Welcome Delightful friends and family!!
I needed to make a baby card for a friend's first grandbaby, it's a girl!! After having 5 sons (yes, 5!) she finally got her a girl. Bless her heart!

Again, as usual I'm taking the picture at night with poor lighting, I really need to invest in a light box or get my hubby to make one for me.  Any suggestions out there?

I had fun using this sketch from Card Positioning Systems (#264).  I was also excited to get this new stamp set from Gina K Designs, a set illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger called Basket Additions 2. It has so many wonderful choices to fill the basket, such a great idea for a stamp set! So of course I needed to get the original stamp set with the basket (Holiday Basket) to complete this adorable image.  The designer paper is also from Gina K Designs and it's called Petals & Wings.  It was used to paper piece a couple of the baby objects in the basket and as a background mat to the green embossed (ProvoCraft EF) card stock.

Other ingredients I've used are: Bazzill card stock, Memento (rich cocoa and tuxedo black) Ink, the ribbon is from my stash and I've used an assortment of Copic Markers to color the image.  I've also used dimensionals to pop up the focal piece.  The finished card is A2 size.

Thanks for visiting and God bless!

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies.  Psalm 103: 2-4

You Simply Shine - CPS#262 and SSIC #136

Welcome to the Delightful Weekend!!  Hope your day is starting off well.  I'm getting a card in quickly for two challenges, the deadline is today so I'm just getting it in under the wire!

I  moved up the middle section just a bit to make room for the sentiment (compare to sketch).  I kept the embellishments at a minimum because I want to mail this without a lot of bulkiness (only a little rhinestone was added to the "i" in shine) and I popped up the image with dimensionals.

Ingredients: Unity Stamp Co (Shine On); Designer Paper: Authentique (Delightful Collection - how appropriate for my blog) Card Stock: DCWV - Pastel Stack, Bazzill (white base); Ink: Memento, rich cocoa:  American Crafts ribbon; Rhinestone (on sentiment); EK Success corner rounder: Marvy Uchida, scallop circle; Prismacolor pencil (Rose Deco);  Finished size: A2

Speaking of "shining" here are some of the little gems that brought some shine into my life this week!

I babysat last night at my son and daughter-in-love's home for my two little granddaughters.  This pic is of Riley Ann. She is a cutie!  Unfortunately Tucker Lynn was all tuckered out and in bed before I could get the camera out.  They are ages 4 and 1 so I thought it was great I could get one to slow down for a picture!

T-Ball is in full swing (no pun intended!) and here is Jake swinging the bat and hitting off the tee. He had his first game this week!
Ready to "play" the field.

Another little "gem" our little Miss Addy-tude. This is what I got when I said "smile for grammie" Oh my she is full of passion and has quite a sense of humor!! She is going through a real naughty stage right now (almost three years old). Not a lot of fun with the training, but she is learning and she is remorseful and willing to apologize when in the wrong (usually to her brother).  Speaking of learning she just learned to make faces not too long ago from Poppa and big brother.  Nice.   Shall I save this one for when she turns 16?

Last post I shared some spring pictures from my backyard and here are a few more:

One of the gazillion bees loving my Wisteria.

The mock cherry tree loosing it's blossoms in exchange for the green leaves.

Not snow or hail but blossoms from the above tree.

Well that's it for me today.  Hope you all have a blessed week.  Thank you for visiting!

Sassy Sally's Spring Birthday #107 and CPS #257

Hello Delightful Friends and Family,
Here is a card I made for my youngest daughter's birthday.  It's not until Monday so don't tell!  She rarely visits my blog unless she knows her little darlings (Jake and Addy) are being featured so I think I'm safe for now!

I participating in two challenges.  A brand new one for me is  Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps Challenge Blog and this is to feature Spring and I thought this adorable digi called Sassy Sally Sits in Wonder would be perfect.  There are flowers, ladybugs and the background paper has a butterfly.
The second challenge is a favorite sketch blog called Card Positioning Systems, this is sketch #257.
The ingredients to my card: Designer Paper: Prima Marketing, Inc. - Sun Kiss Collection, "Sweet Tea" and the two brown panels are from Echo Park, This & That; Bazzill card stock and Neenah Bright White card stock for the image. The ribbon is from my Key Ingredient Kit (Feb 2012); Inks: computer generated digi and Distress Inks, frayed burlap.  I've colored Sassy Sally with Copic Markers. Baker's Twine (We R Memory Keepers); Button (my stash). Finished card is 5.5 x 5.5

Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy your FRIDAY!!

Camo Birthday Card for Jakob - CPS254

Hello Delightful friends and family,
Tomorrow is our grandson Jakob's 5th birthday!  His birthday party is a camo/military themed party so I thought I'd make a themed card for him.

The sketch I've used is from Card Positioning Systems this week. It is sketch #254.

The image is a Digi stamp from Bugaboo Stamps. Designer Paper is Reminisce (Hunter's Camo - The Great Outdoors) and Creative Imaginations, the colored card stock is Bazzill. The button is from Basic Grey (Wisteria collection) and the fiber is Darice Hemp Cording.

(CPS 254)

Colored with Copics (E0000, E11, E25, E33, YG91, YG93, YG93, YG95, YG97, BG96, BG0000, C0, C01), framed out with Spellbinders Reverse Wonky Rectangle (Nestabilities) and sponged with Pumice Stone Distress Ink.

I created the sentiment on the computer and printed it out on Neenah Bright White Card Stock (Spellbinders Reverse Wonky Recktangle) The finished card is 6 x 6.

This was today after playing in the mud and goofying off in front of this grammie's camera. Needless to say, he and Addy both had to strip down and I had to wash all of their clothes!

But Jesus called them to Him and said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it."  Luke 18:16-17

Thanks so much for visiting and have a blessed day!

So, now is the waiting game, I think this coming weekend we should know who won any of the prizes.
