Prize package #2 (sneak peek of my giveaway and I plan to add some more goodies!)

Here is my card using the Seasonal Wreath Stamp Fall & Winter set from Simply Stamp for our Anything Goes Challenge!

Card Directions:
First, I stamped my wreath, then stamped the Christmas swag using brown ink. (the set comes with an autumn swag, too) I used the Karin Brush Markers to color the poinsettia, leaves and ribbon.
I then used my Koi watercolors to create the background (wet on wet technique).  After it dried, I used the gold Liquid Pearls to embellish the wreath berries.  The Scripture Art was printed on vellum and added to the lower half of the watercolor paper.  The gold striped paper was cut 5.5 x 1" and added to the white card base then I added the focal front panel.  The "Blessings" sentiment is also from the Seasonal Wreath set and was stamped with black ink on white paper and matted on to green cardstock.

Don't forget to leave a comment to win!
There will be two winners on January 5!

Thanks for visiting!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Word Art Wednesday Challenge

Hello and happy first week of Autumn to you all!

Summer's gone and you wouldn't know it by the heat wave we are feeling here in Northern California, but that is the norm for us.  We call it Indian summer.  Cool in the morning and very warm in the afternoon and early evening.  Perfect weather if you ask me!!
I have a card to share for Word Art Wednesday.  Our sponsor this week is Cas-ual Friday Stamps. Be sure and check out their blog HERE and be inspired!!

This time, I've used the Scripture art inside the card rather than on the front.  So that's a little different for me.  This stamp set I've used is called Friendship Blooms which is a collaboration between Gina K Designs and Hero Arts (celebrating their 45th anniversary!)  I've stamped it on watercolor paper using Versamark and gold embossing powder.  I've colored with my Koi water color set (Pocket Field Sketch Box).  This set has some lovely sentiments and I love the fonts the artists have chosen for it!  So pretty!  I've trimmed out the paper using a Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die.  The sentiment is also die cut using a Cottage Cutz cross stitched square die,

Here is a peek at the inside:  Die cut using the LF stitched rectangle with a pretty piece of card stock, not sure of the color.

The Scripture from 1 Corinthians, written by Paul begins this first chapter with thanksgiving for this church, which is pretty amazing considering all the correction that had to take place. This is a really good example or pattern for us in leadership in the church to always remember to be encouraging even in the midst of correction.  To be able to see the grace of God at work in this congregation is a real blessing to Paul and he thanks the Lord for their strong points as he corrects their carnality later on in this letter.  He will go on to give thanks to God who gives them the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ towards the end of the letter and reminds the Corinthians that they are beloved and reminds them to be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that their labor of love was not in vain in the Lord. (paraphrased by me 😆)  This is a good word for us as well.  I have a friend that will be getting this card and I pray it will be a blessed encouragement to her when she reads the inside verse.  I hope you are encouraged too!

Thanks for visiting!!

Looking to Jesus - Word Art Wednesday

Hello!
Welcome back to this weeks Word Art Wednesday Challenge!  Hope you are checking all the inspiration over at the Challenge blog and more importantly playing along!  This challenge last 2 weeks and you can submit 5 new projects for a chance to win a prize from our sponsor Pink and Main!  Have you seen their cute March release?  Thanks Michelle for sponsoring us this challenge!

Here is my card for the challenge:

Spring is in full bloom here in northern California!  The flowering trees, my wisteria is budding (yay!!) the colors are beginning to burst out.  Last challenge I was heading to Mount Shasta to check out the wedding venue for my daughter's upcoming wedding and we got stuck in the snow!!  Had to call a tow truck to the rescue.  What an adventure!  The snow was knee deep at the venue, sure hope it melts by the end of May!!  The wedding is outdoors and it's going to be such a pretty setting (minus the snow!)  So seeing the flowers starting to peek out has been very encouraging.

Here are a couple of pictures from my trip to Mount Shasta,

Iron Horse Unlimited (wedding venue)
Stuck in the snow (fyi: I was not driving!)

Card info:
I water colored on 140# cold press Strathmore paper using Koi watercolors.  The clear stamp set is an American Crafts Florals (Kelly Creates line)which I've stamped with Archival Watering Can ink. I've mat the Scripture and the watercolor paper with a dark gray/charcoal card stock.

The Scripture Art is free to use and you can grab it over at the Word Art Wednesday blog.
This week the verse is Hebrews 12:2 a perfect verse to get us ready for the Easter season.  It also is a reminder that Jesus, who is the author and finisher of our faith will help us to endure this race of life if we keep our eyes focused on Him.  Let's remember what He endured for us when He willing went to the cross and took our sins on Himself.  He willing endured the shame, remembering the joy that would come from the suffering.  What a blessed Savior we have!

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses (in chapter 11), let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 2:1-2

His Loving Kindness - Word Art Wednesday

Hello Delightful friends and family,
Here is my card for Word Art Wednesday (#318 and #319) for this week! Hope you will join us and link up your projects!  You can link up 5 new "Anything Goes - Family Friendly" crafty projects and our sponsors this week are Bossie Joscie ($25 online store) and Cutting Cafe (Digital Prize)!  The challenge runs for two weeks so you have time to get crafty!!  A BIG THANKS to our sponsors! Be sure and visit us at Word Art Wednesday and see all the projects that are being linked up there!  So much creative inspiration!!

I've used two dies to create this card.  Avery Elle Diagonal Stripes and the Paper Smooches Dove. The pattern paper background is Crate Paper (Chasing Dreams) 6x6 paper pad, this piece looks kind of like marble in blues and greens. I've used my Koi watercolors to color the dove and was very careful not to separate the outline of the dove die from the main piece that was cut out from 140lb Strathmore watercolor paper. Then it was just a matter of adhering it all together!  Quick and easy, a simple card that will be fun to reproduce plus by using a variety of different sentiments, paper and diecut embellishment you can use this card "sketch/design" for different occasions.

Here is this weeks free to use Scripture Art:

Love this verse! It truly helps us to keep in mind what the Lord has done for us and when we meditate on those things we realize His lovingkindness is better than life!  It should (and does) make me want to sing and lift up my voice in praise to Him.  Today this verse helped me to forget the "not so great" day at work and focus on His provision and steadfast love. When I look up, everything is good.  Nothing like perspective, right? I am so glad I belong to Jesus, when the waves come crashing in, He is faithful to surround me with His kindness and compassion.  I'm still learning not to look on the outward circumstances but to look to God. He is my peace and I will praise Him!

Thanks for visiting! Grace and God's peace to you!

Hello Delightful friends and family!
I haven't played in a challenge in a loooong time!   But couldn't resist sharing this card I made my son Sean for his birthday this week.  I will be linking up at Seize the Birthday (anything goes birthday this week)

I've used three different stamps, one from Avery Elle (Woodland Wonders - trees and bird in the nest) and Lawn Fawn (Critters in the Arctic and Jump for joy) I stamped on watercolor paper (140lb cold press Strathmore) using Archival jet black ink and my Koi watercolors to color.

Thanks for visiting!

Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge

Hello Delightful friends and family!
A belated Happy 4th of July! Hope everyone had a safe and fun day. We are just getting back from a quick trip to Oregon for my nephews wedding reception and we stayed a couple extra days for some R&R and a jet boat trip to Hellsgate on the Rogue River from Grants Pass.  It was a blast.😁

I have to start out my blog by apologizing that I have the wrong Scripture Art on my card for this weeks challenge.  I didn't realize I hadn't printed out the July word art and when I searched for it in my email the 2016 July art came up because I hadn't received the 2017 word art, so I used it without realizing the error. But I do have a card, that's the good news and the scripture is a good one to use anyway! So really there is no loss here in my opinion 😊 and I'm excited because I was able to use my new Koi watercolors on the flowers on this card.
So without further ado here is my card for Word Art Wednesday Challenge 290 & 291:

My background was made with Distress Inks Fired Brick and Peeled Paint and a mini mister and a wet-on-wet technique on 140lb cold press Strathmore watercolor paper. I did some very loose watercoloring of the flowers and leaves from this stamp set called Doodlebuds from WPlus9. They are one of my all time favorite stamps sets! After loosely coloring them, I let them dry naturally then fussy cut them out and arranged them and adhered them after I positioned the Scripture that had been diecut using the Cottage Cutz Cross stitched square die.

Here below is the Scripture art that should have been used today and you are more than welcome to use it and play along with us at Word Art Wednesday!! You can link up to 5 new projects and have a chance to win a prize from our sponsors this week!! This challenge is a family friendly Anything Goes challenge.

Hope you have a great week and are enjoying your summer!!
