Friends Make the Good Times Better - DS#160

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Here is a card I made for my friend Lori who just moved to Oregon.  I'm going to miss seeing her smiling face at church, her encouraging words and our craziness over the S.F. Giants! (lol)  Anyhoo... I used the Deconstructed Sketch #160 and I'm entering Jen's challenge HERE.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my interpretation of the sketch (and it was quite a challenge for me!),
I've used Authentique Designer Paper and this cute image is from MFT - a Pure Innocence stamp that I've paper pieced and colored with Copics.  The flower is from Prima, the leaves are a stamp from Taylored Expressions and I've used Archival Olive ink to stamp. Pearls are from my stash of TE Key Ingredient embellishments.

Here is a peek at the inside:
Another stamp from MFT - Chalkboard Greetings.  I've used Archival jet black ink, Bazzill card stock.  Card Base: Neenah 100lb bright white.  Fiskars Upper Crest Border punch and EK Success Scallop Circle punch.

I hope you all had a great weekend and are having a fabulous Monday!
I'm excited to share that I went on a 9 mile hike with my sister Brooke and my oldest daughter Amy on Saturday and as tough as it was I survived!! Yay!! A lot of walking on the beach and it was soft sand at that.  Yes, I'm a bit sore but not as bad as I was expecting!!  Double yay!!

Herein is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit; so shall you be my disciples.  John 15:8

Love Bugs Anniversary card

Hello Delightful friends and family,
Here is an anniversary card I made for a sweet couple who are celebrating 50 years!! Wow!  We will be celebrating 37 years this week so I'd best get busy and make my dear sweetie a special card.  We just got back from our annual trip to San Francisco to watch the Giants play a couple of games and enjoy Fellowship Day there, too.  That is where the Christian ballplayers come out after the game and share their testimonies with those of us who stick around.  They also treated us with a concert featuring the Christian band Kutless.  It was really fun!

The stamp set I used was a cute set from Taylored Expressions called Love Bugs which included a matching die set.  I also used Mini Occasions (on the tag.) I've colored it with Copic markers and used Spica Pens for a little bling. Designer Paper is My Minds Eye "The Sweetest Thing" and I've used the Deconstructed Sketch 113 for inspiration.

Inside sentiment is from Penny Black Stamps (Friendship/transparent set)

Here are a few pictures from our weekend getaway!

It was really neat to be down on the field.

Kutless leading in some energetic praise music.

Thanks so much for visiting!

I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus,
(1 Corinthians 1:4)

Congrats to the Newlyweds - DS106 and WAW86

Hello Delightful friends and family!

Hope everyone has enjoyed their first week of summer.  We have experienced 3 days of light rain, perfect for my flowers and lawn but the humidity is 90% and we are feeling it!  The trickle of perspiration down my back is about to drive me crazy.  I finally had to take a walk around the block just to cool off!  But I did manage to make a card for a wedding that's coming up this weekend before heading out.
I haven't entered  a sketch challenge in so long but when I saw this one from Jen Shults (Deconstructed Sketch #106) I knew it would be perfect for the card.  I've used the Penny Black  hydrangea from the "Flower Festival" set and colored it with Copic markers.  This was my third attempt at coloring this image!!  Finally I got it at least presentable!

 (Inside of the card)

I'm also entering this in Word Art Wednesday (Anything Goes) #86

The ingredients I've used for my card:
Stamps: Penny Black; Taylored Expressions (Birds of a Feather and In the Word)
Paper: Basic Grey Soleil (Fresh Air); Cosmo Cricket (Odds and Ends);
Card Stock: Bazzill and Neenah
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Copics: BV000, BV01, BV02, BV13, BV34; B60; R83; YG13, YG17.

For You O LORD, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield.  Psalm 5:12
