I've Taken a Viking to You...

Hello Delightful Friends!

Just had to give a shout out to Lisa Henke, a HUGE THANK YOU for the happy mail!  I was the winner on her blog for the Season's of Giving bloghop.  She outdid herself with the goodies.  I can't thank her enough.  Everything in the package was something I will use and is so my style.
I had to share a card I made with one of the stamps that was part of my winnings.  It was the Avery Elle Viking stamp (with a die, too!! Oh my goodness! So cute)

I've colored the Viking with Copics and used a colored pencil to add a bit of texture to his manly beard!  I had this cute paper from Pebbles (Night-Night) with the fun anchors and the backside was the blue gingham. I matted each paper with a charcoal gray, added the baker's twine and a button to embellish. I cut out the image using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle die and then using the Spellbinders Nestabilities circle die I cut out the gray circle to mat.

Inside: the stamp I used here was from a set called You Aren't Normal (Technique Tuesday) that I have had for a while and the sentiments in the set just crack me up! Not so sure that Vikings fought zombies but I thought it was pretty funny to think about that ;-)
The heart die is from Lawn Fawn.

Thanks so much for visiting and I hope to be posting a few more cards here in the next few days.
Blessings to you!

I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in His word I do hope. Psalm 130:5

Humorous Birthday Card - SACC#33 and 2TC#63

Hello Delightful friends and family,
Here is a funny card I made for my other sister whose birthday is this month, too.
It's a stamp from Inky Antics (Worldly Women) that we carry in our lss. The designer paper is My Minds Eye and I've colored this "doll" with Copic Markers and I've added a few rhinestones to bling it up! I've also used some Spica pens to give the jewlery a little sparkle but the photo doesn't show it.
The sketch I used is from a MFT Wednesday Sketch challenge #149 but I forgot to link up!

I started writing this post about 4 days ago (I think?!) remember how I said I was under the weather?  Well, it's not just "under the weather" it's a full blown case of bronchitis.  I've not been this sick in ages. That is why I've not been visiting and commenting and I think my laptop has got a bug as well.  It only seems to be when I try to do anything on my blog, weird ads keep popping up and I can't seem to get rid of them.  Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Finally went to the doctor yesterday and she prescribed me something so I could sleep.  This coughing has been none stop - rib aching none stop!  I've camped out on the recliner with a cozy blanket, hot tea with honey and the Hallmark Channel and an occasion HGTV show. Please pray for me, I have so much to do at the end of this week for our annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner that our church puts on every year.
Here is my card that will be entered in the following challenges:
Twisted Tuesday Challenge #63 (use polka dots and pop ups on your creation)
I've used pop ups on my image

Thanks for visiting. Tomorrow I'll have a new card for Word Art Wednesday so I hope you'll be back to check it out!
Rejoice in the Lord always.  Again I will say, rejoice!  Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.  Philippians 4:4-5

Growing Old is Mandatory - STB 4

Hello Delightful friends and family!!
It's time for another masculine card for the Seize the Birthday Challenge Blog.  I was so excited to see that I had won the "Birthday Honours" badge for my last card using this same sketch. Thank you  to the Design Team for the honor!!

I chose Gus from Bugaboo Digi Stamps for this weeks masculine card.  It's always a challenge to find masculine embellies but I used my Spellbinder Nestabilities Hexagons (the smallest size and it also coordinates with the shape I've used for my image!), I cut out two and then inked the edges with Distress Inks (Peeled Paint and Salty Ocean) then added a button and the hemp cord I colored with a Copic Marker (BG96-bush).  Another added element is the Glossy Accents I added to Gus' glasses and the tiny yellow headlights.  I love the Authentique Paper (Collection: Loyal) it's perfect for a masculine card.  Bazzill card stock is used for the base and the first layer.  Neenah Bright white card stock is used for the image and sentiment. I've colored Gus with my Copic markers.
The finished size is A2.

Can you see the Glossy Accents on the glasses?

Ha! Love this funny sentiment, I have a list of guys I could send this too! (*wink**wink*)

Other ingredients used:  My Favorite Things Die-namics Fishtale Flags Stax; Distress Inks, Weathered Wood and Mowed Lawn; Darice Hemp cording; Button (Making Memories)

Thanks so much for visiting and commenting!

Today's Scripture verse I'd like to share is:
For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments.  And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world.  And this is the victory that has overcome the world---our faith.  1 John 5:3-4
