Word Art Wednesday Challenge - Happy Independence Day!

Hello Delightful Friends!

I'm posting this on the eve of our USA Independence Day.  Hope my fellow Americans have a blessed 4th of July. Most of the States are in the midst of a summer heat wave.  So perhaps my fellow crafters can get out of the sun and into their craft room to play along with us at Word Art Wednesday.  Our sponsor this week is the ever popular My Favorite Things!  Just upload your Anything Goes crafty project (family friendly) to the blog and be entered to win.

Here is my card and I've used the Scripture Art from Psalm 31:24:

Ingredients:
My Favorite Things stamp set called Fun Flowers (all used for the background)
I've colored with my PrismaColor Pencils and blended with mineral spirits
I went with the red, white and blue theme to go along with Independence Day
Paper: Doodlebug Designs - Hometown USA 6x6 double-sided card stock
Circle Die is the Stitched Nested Circles from La-La Land Crafts
Card stock - sugar cube (Taylored Expression)
Ink - Oreo (hybrid ink - Taylored Expressions)

Thanks for visiting!  Stay cool and be blessed!

Word Art Wednesday - Blessed Mouse

Hello Delightful Friends!

Time for Word Art Wednesday Challenge! This weeks theme is Anything Goes - Family Friendly.  Our fun sponsor is My Favorite Things!  They have the cutest stamp sets and some "sweet" new products!! Who wouldn't want to win the sponsors prize!! Be sure and check out the challenge!  This card I'm sharing I used an oldie but a goodie called Blessed Mouse from MFT (it's no longer available).  I colored her with Copics (which I haven't done in soooo long!) and paper pieced her blouse with some Echo Park designer 6x6 paper.  I used a gray Prismacolor pencil to "ground" the image so she doesn't look like she's floating in the air 😉

Here is the Scripture Art used this week:

other ingredients:
Image stamped with Earl Grey ink (TE)
Card Stock: Banana Cream. Fruit Punch, Sugar Cube
Liquid Pearls
Copics
Spellbinder Wonky Rectangle Die, Flower Die (freebie from TE)

Friends Make the Good Times Better - DS#160

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Here is a card I made for my friend Lori who just moved to Oregon.  I'm going to miss seeing her smiling face at church, her encouraging words and our craziness over the S.F. Giants! (lol)  Anyhoo... I used the Deconstructed Sketch #160 and I'm entering Jen's challenge HERE.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my interpretation of the sketch (and it was quite a challenge for me!),
I've used Authentique Designer Paper and this cute image is from MFT - a Pure Innocence stamp that I've paper pieced and colored with Copics.  The flower is from Prima, the leaves are a stamp from Taylored Expressions and I've used Archival Olive ink to stamp. Pearls are from my stash of TE Key Ingredient embellishments.

Here is a peek at the inside:
Another stamp from MFT - Chalkboard Greetings.  I've used Archival jet black ink, Bazzill card stock.  Card Base: Neenah 100lb bright white.  Fiskars Upper Crest Border punch and EK Success Scallop Circle punch.

I hope you all had a great weekend and are having a fabulous Monday!
I'm excited to share that I went on a 9 mile hike with my sister Brooke and my oldest daughter Amy on Saturday and as tough as it was I survived!! Yay!! A lot of walking on the beach and it was soft sand at that.  Yes, I'm a bit sore but not as bad as I was expecting!!  Double yay!!

Herein is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit; so shall you be my disciples.  John 15:8

Better is Little - Word Art Wednesday #108

Happy Wednesday to all my Delightful Friends and Family!
Here we are at week 4 and the last week of my Guest Designer stint with Word Art Wednesday, it's been such a blessing to be able to share a bit with all of you and I thank you so much for your sweet comments.  Thanks again to Karen and all the Design Team for the inspiration and encouragement they share week after week!

This verse from Proverbs is so appropriate for this time of year when things get overwhelmed with commercialism and we have a tendency to forget to be thankful and content.  This card is truly meant to be an encouragement to someone who may be struggling with that very thing. Wisdom and knowledge begin with the reverent fear of the Lord. Sometimes we need a good friend to keep us accountable and remind us to keep our eyes on our Lord Jesus Christ.

Here is the list of the ingredients to my card:
Designer Paper: Simple Stories "Harvest Lane"; Card Stock: Bazzill and Neenah; Inks:  Archival (Aquamarine), Memento (Teal Zeal); Ranger Liquid Pearls (white opal) Stamps: Taylored Expressions,  Garden Party Blooms and My Favorite Things, Chalkboard Greetings.  Petaloo Fancy Trims (Shades of Teal); Embossing Folder: Sizzix Alterations (Bricked); Cuttlebug.

Thanks so much for visiting!!

Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  Philippians 4:11-13

Birthday Blessings - WAW#98

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
It's the middle of the week, can you believe it!?  I read somewhere yesterday that there are 99 days before Christmas! Crazy, but now it's 98 days (ha!) I made your day, huh? I'm determined to enjoy and not be stressed this season (as we often can allow to happen - shame on me!) Of course, I need the Lord's help with this but I'm sure that His will is that I keep Him at the forefront always and keep in mind that I'm not to be anxious for anything.

This birthday card was made for a friend and hooray (!)  it's already in the mail, on time!

I will be entering this in the WORD ART WEDNESDAY CHALLENGE #98 (Anything Goes)

The Stamp Sets used on the front are Evergreen (SU!) and Friendship (Penny Black); I've colored the tree with Copic Markers.  The other inks used are Memento, Tuxedo Black; Distress Ink, (Peeled Paint, Antique Linen, Vintage Photo); The Designer Paper is Simple Stories and Card Stock from Bazzill and Neenah. The Notched Border Die is from My Favorite Things Die-Namics.

Inside sentiment is from the Penny Black Stamp Set, Friendship.

Thanks so much for visiting!!

He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper. Psalm 1:3

Just a Note - WAW #97

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Here is a CAS vintage card I made for a friend.  I've sponged around the designer paper and the "typing paper" with Vintage Photo and Antique Linen (Distress Ink) to age the papers a little bit.  I love this stamp set from My Favorite Things (Just My Type) it comes with a bunch of sentiments that are perfect for so many occasions.  I cut out the typewriter and then sponged around the edges with the Vintage Photo ink. To stamp the image and the sentiment I used Memento Tuxedo Black.  The Designer Paper is a 6x6 paper pad from My Minds Eye (the sweetest thing collection), Bazzill card stock was used for the base and Neenah c/s was used to stamp the image and sentiment.

I'll be sharing this card at the Word Art Wednesday Challenge Blog (Anything Goes #97)

Here is a verse (in red shown below) which is the featured Scripture at Word Art Wednesday this week.

Sometimes we find ourselves getting the verse backwards and our words are filled with salt and without any grace so it's important that we take care and make sure are words are building others up and not tearing down.  Salt is good but too much can ruin a recipe can't it?!  It's also used to preserve which is a good thing, but salt in a wound can sting.  So, it is very important to be led of the Holy Spirit, especially in our words.

Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. Colossians 4:6

Thanks so much for visiting and have a great day!

Happy Birthday Sweet and Sassy, Addy!

Hello Delightful friends and family!  Wow it's been over a month of lots of activities that kept me out of the craft room and away from my blog.  But with my little granddaughter turning four (Addy) I of course had to make her a card.  This  was inspired by the Wednesday sketch challenge at the MFT blog (MFTWSC127 ).  I didn't make the deadline to post today but that's okay, but I still want to give credit for the the great sketch inspiration.
We had Addy's party on Saturday (however, her birthday is today) so I thought it would be fun to share some of the pictures.

Here is the card I made her.  Love the Pure Innocence stamp set.  It fits little Miss Addy-tude to a "t".  I've colored the image with Copic Markers and paper pieced her outfit. At the end of this post has the rest of the "ingredients."

WHEEEE!!!

Addy told us that she wanted a Fishing rod for her birthday so guess what?  She got a fishing rod plus a tackle box, flotation vest, hat and of course some gummy worms for....bait! ha!

She blew out her candles, no problem!

Here she is all happy and ready to head to the river or lagoon for some fishin' time with Poppa!  They are making plans to go very soon!!

 Sassy & Sweet Card:  Stamp Set, My Favorite Things (Feeling Sassy);
Bazzill card stock, Designer Paper: Echo Park Sweet Girl 6x6 pack; Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa and Distress Ink, Worn lipstick. Spellbinders Nestabilities Circle and Scallop Circle; MFT Die-Namics, Fish Tail Stax Die, Cuttlebug and Embossing folder and lots of Copic Markers to color!

Thanks for looking, hopefully it won't be a month inbetween posts!  I've missed you all!

Sweet Empty Calories F4A162 (SCS)

Happy Friday evening to all my delightful friends and family!!

Posting this quick-like between batches of Snickerdoodle cookies that are baking.  The Youth group at church is having a bake sale tomorrow in town so I thought I'd get some cookies made up for them.  Last night my youngest daughter asked me to make a couple of "simple" birthday cards for two little sisters turning 6 and 3 years old.  Jakob and Addy will be celebrating with them at the pool (indoor community pool!) tomorrow.  So here are my "simple and quick" cards I made.

For both cards I used the exact same stamp set and paper.  Stamps: Hero Arts, Cupcakes; Designer Paper: DCWV; Bazzill card stock.  This card I also used Liquid Pearls to add "sprinkles" to embellish and Glitz washi  tape.  Inks used: Memento and Archival in black.

On this card the Spellbinder scallop circle was die cut from  the Die-Namics Fishtail Flag that I had previously die cut.  The image was stamped on a separate piece of Neenah card stock and colored with Copic markers and adhered to the backside of the flag. I saw something similar on Pinterest so I thought I'd put my own twist to it.  I've embellished the flame and flower with Ranger Stickles.

Well that's it for tonight.  Mmmm the smell of snickerdoodle cookies are filling my house.... yum!  Thankfully, there are a few cookies that didn't turn out "perfect" that I'll just have to keep out of the bake sale, oh rats!  So much for my Sweet Empty Calorie post.  Which reminds me these cards will be entered in the Friday Splitcoast Stampers challenge Free 4 All which is "Sweet Empty Calories".

And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha, where they crucified Him, and two others with Him, one on either side, and Jesus in the center. Now Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross. And the writing was: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.  John 19:17-19

Have a blessed weekend and I hope you will consider keeping your focus on the great sacrifice Jesus Christ made for you and because He lives, we can live also.

Hey Sassy Pants, Happy Birthday! (STB 1)

Hello Delightful friends and family from a very wet and cold northern California!  Brrr, the wind off the ocean and the snow in the mountains makes for a very damp and cold afternoon!  Wish I could just stay in all day but duty calls!  Had to go pick up my grandson Jakob from school, then to the post office, later on it will be a trip to Costco!  Not looking forward to that at all.  In the meantime, I was able to play along with a new challenge site and get a birthday card finished up that I started last night.  Yeah!!
Here is the link to the new challenge blog (well, new to me) called Seize the Birthday.  And a fun sketch for this weeks challenge. In a nutshell, there are two sketches per month and the first week you make a feminine card, the second week a masculine card but they have to be birthday cards.  Be sure and head over there to get all the details!  I need to "beef" up my masculine card collection so this challenge sounds ideal for me!

Ingredients:  Stamps: My Favorite Things ( Pure Innocence, Cute-a-tude); Taylored Expressions (Many Minis - Occasions set of 20 - HBD and Wish Big)
Designer Paper: Crate Paper (Fourteen)
Card Stock: Bazzill
Copic Markers
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black and Love Letter
Ranger Liquid Pearls
American Crafts: Ribbon and Glitter Buttons
Dies: Taylored Expression (In the Bag - label on front)
Spellbinders Nestabilities Scallop Ovals
Cuttlebug
Zots, EK Success 3-D dimensionals

Well, that is it for me.  Have a safe and enjoyable weekend!

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.  Galatians 2:20

More thank you's

Hello Delightful friends and family!
I have three more thank you cards to share.  I think I have two more and I'll be finished for the time being.  I'm always in need of thank you cards aren't you?  I got to my craft room yesterday afternoon after doing a couple of loads of laundry and the general "pick-up" of the house.  Although I confess, the Christmas décor didn't yell quite loud enough for me to put them all away!  Or maybe I just tuned them out by turning KLOVE up on high!

I just love Cocoa from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps!  This set is called Cocoa's Latte.  I've paper pieced the container with Cosmo Cricket's Tea For Two.  The ribbon is from one of the Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient kit and I've also use a TE Die (Scallop border).  I've framed out the image using the Spellbinder Nestabilities Label die.  The Copics used are: G000, G40, G43; R000, R00, R01; N0; E04, E11, E13, E15, E37

Inside sentiment using Archival Ink Coffee (of course!)  I've also used the Die-Namics Fishtale Flags STAX from My Favorite Things.  Bazzill and Neenah card stock were used.

Here is a CAS card and I used the resist emboss technique using Gloss Card Stock Paper (Ranger - Inkessentials), Versamark, Distress Ink, Picked Raspberry (Ranger).  The heart stamp is from the Unity Ippity Devoted set (one of my favs!)  The base of the card is Neenah card stock and I've also used Bazzill (raven)

Inside of the card: I stamped the sentiment from a left over piece from the Gloss Paper and punched out the heart using a Marvy Uchida scallop heart punch, then adhered it to a piece of the Bazzill c/s.  Sentiment is a Taylored Expressions stamp ( Buddy Bear set) using Stazon Jet Black ink.

This card I CASE'd from Danielle Daws card HERE.  Her card is gorgeous  and mine doesn't hold a candle to it!!  She has some awesome video tutorials, too.
I definitely need a bit of practice with the ink blending and masking technique.
I used the Ranger Masking sheet to cut out the circle using a Spellbinder Nestie Circle. Once I finished blending ink into the circle, I splattered water on the ink, hoping some of the lighter colors would come through.  I wasn't sure what kind of reaction or design I would get and I think I would liked it better if it was a bit more subtle. (it would have helped if I had my glasses on and saw how many drops of water were splattered!)  But for my first attempt I shouldn't complain!  The stamp I've used is from Unity (The Simple Things).  Distress Inks used:  Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge, Spiced Marmalade.  Memento tuxedo black ink was used to stamp the image and sentiment.  I've added a little shimmery to the image by using a clear and gold Spica Pen.  Neenah white c/s for the base, Bazzill black and My Mind's Eye (Lost & Found) are the other papers used.

I stamped off the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The sentiment is PTI (Thank you in and out set).

Thanks for hanging through this long post!!

Be sure and check out my post for the  Season of Love classes, if you leave a comment your name will go in a random drawing for the classes.  The value is $24.95 for the two week session of classes and continued access to the class and videos. The drawing will be held on January 9th

Sassy Pants - MFTWSC79

Hello Delightful friends, family and Friday!!
It's going to be a busy weekend so I thought I best get my card posted for the Wednesday Sketch Club sponsored by MFT at Splitcoast Stampers.

I just love this Pure Innocence Cute-a-tude stamp set,  probably because she reminds me of Princess Addy-tude.

Yummy fun paper from Echo Park is called Hello Summer. I've colored Miss Sassy Pants with Copics and paper pieced her dress.  Card stock is Bazzill.

I've used the Spellbinders Scallop Oval Nestie to frame out the image and sponged lightly with Distress Ink, (Worn Lipstick). The flowers, button and thread are from my stash.  The sentiment is popped up with dimensionals and I've used the Die-namics Fishtail Flags Stax which I also sponged around the edges.  I've used Memento Nautical Blue ink to stamp "Hey, Sassy Pants" and Tuxedo Black for the image.

Hope you have a terrific weekend, I'm off to purchase a new computer for the church in the morning since the harddrive is toast (sigh...) thankfully I was able to get the bulletin done for last week and the Men of Action Conference program designed and completed before the crash last Saturday morning.  Pretty  much everything is lost minus a few things in the documents file. What is huge is that the crash happened after the MOA Conference, that was Divine intervention for sure!  Please pray that the Quicken file is current on the backup disk, I'm pretty sure that it was backed up the last time I worked in it. Regardless, thank you Lord!!!

Thanks for visiting!!

Sweet Harmony - SSSC161 + Casting Call

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
Hooray the weekend is upon us and wouldn't you know it, it's going to rain on Saturday, so glad I have plans indoors!  But after the rain clears (and waters my plants and lawn/weeds) it's going to be sunny skies for the next few days, which means that we are going to have a warm 4th of July! Yay!!  I've been watching the weather channel and seeing all the record breaking triple digit temperatures throughout the country.  Makes me glad I live here in the fog soaked northern-est part of California.  Praying that you all are being wise and staying hydrated.

Here is a second card I made for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  I really like this sketch and I love this sweet Pure Innocence stamp set (My Favorite Things).  At our church, I'm (besides the pastor's wife) the worship leader (keyboard and vocals) or as I prefer to be known as, the  "lead worshiper" for our fellowship. It's one of those technicalities where you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him/her drink.  But I can lead by example! Anywhoo.... didn't mean to get off topic... my daughter (for a short time) took violin lessons so this brought back a few memories!

I've paper pieced the dress and all the designer paper is from Authentique.  The flower, button and ribbon are from various Key Ingredientient Kits (Taylored Expressions.  The Fishtail Flags are a STAX Die-Namics from MFT.  I've stamped the image (and sentiment) with Memento, Tuxedo Black ink and the image was diecut from Spellbinders Nestabilities Wonky Reverse Rectangles.  I've used Antique Linen Distress ink to blend around the image. Our sweet image has been colored by Copic markers and the card stock used is the Neenah bright white and Bazzill c/s for the base.

After coloring her shoes with a Copic black marker, I used a Spica pen to accent the shoes, straps, her barrette and the violin bow.

I've used the Notched Border Die-Namics to cut out the music paper (Authentique) to keep with the theme.  Isn't that a sweet sentiment?

Thanks so much for visiting and leaving a delightful comment!! It means a lot!

Blessed Mouse (MFT) - A Thank You

Hello Delightful friends and family,
Here is a card I made for a dear friend at church who always remembers my birthday.  (Thank you, Betty!)   She is a dear and our sweet little prayer warrior, she keeps us lifted up to the Lord daily and we appreciate that so much!

The cute stamp is from My Favorite Things called Mouse in the House "Blessed Mouse" I've also used the Die-namics Mini Tabs for the sentiment.  Memento black tuxedo ink was used to stamp both image and sentiments.

I've colored this cutie with Copics and paper pieced her shirt with Echo Park (Hello Summer).
The ribbon, button  and scallop die is from Taylored Expressions and the card stock is Bazzill. The hemp cord is Darice 20lb, bright (threading the button) I colored it with a Copic Marker.

Inside I've used the MFT Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX and then stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set as above.  I colored in the butterfly with Copics.  The bottom scallop has repeated with the Echo Park paper and the TE scallop die.

That's all for me today, thanks so much for looking!!

Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say on the LORD!  Psalm 27:14
