Introducing Ella and BY LORi Designs

Hello dear delightful friends and family!

I have a new digi stamp and illustrator to share with you today. The digi is Ella and oh what a sweetie! Oh my goodness talk about cuteness! Her creator is Lori Boyd and you can find her at By LORi Designs You should head over to her blog and check out her sweet digi design work! Adorable stuff and super fun to color.

I made this card last night for my niece (Bobbi) who lives in Oregon. It was her birthday a couple weeks ago and I knew she would be in town this weekend so I thought this would make her smile, especially after she runs her race today (Clam Beach Run in Northern Calif. ) with her mom, my sister Nicki. These two are crazy runners! Running is not my cup of tea, I wish it was then perhaps I would not be battling the weight all the time. However, today I did spend a couple of hours with the kids and grandkids shooting hoops and running after t-ball hits etc. so I did get my exercise! I even beat my dear hubby at H-O-R-S-E TWICE!! (tee-hee) I've still got the soft touch when it comes to the hoops!! We managed to get a good afternoon of fun in and now it's pouring down rain. Thank you Lord for making the rain hold off so we could play!!

Here are the details:
Base 4.25 x 5.5
Dark brown card stock, Bazzill
Designer Paper, Bo Bunny
Gingham Ribbon, Bazzill
light pink ribbon and dk brown button from my stash
Inks: computer (Ella) and Distress Inks for blending: 1st layer: antique linen, 2nd layer: worn lipstick
Spellbinders Nestabilities, Deckled Rectangle; Cuttlebug
Fast and easy card after coloring Ella with Copic markers

Thanks for looking and have a blessed weekend!!

Hello, it's already Thursday!! Another week flying by. Hope your week has been a good one. I cannot believe how warm the weather turned on Wednesday, I'm sure it hit 70 degrees and where we live it rarely reaches that in the summer (that is a slight exageration) but it is very mild weather year round but we do experience cold wet winters (rarely snow though) so having a break from the cold and wet was welcomed!! I hope the plants and trees aren't psyched out, we just pruned! My two grandkids, Jake (3) and Addy (19 mo.) decided to help me rake the leaves and get them into a big garbage bag, I missed a photo opportunity so I'm hoping the weather will be nice again today (I'm writing this at 12:15am so officially it's Thursday!) so we can "play" in the backyard again.

Tonight I got busy and was able to pull off 3 challenges in one card.

Here is our Christian Paper Crafts Sketch Challenge from Gloria (who should be on her way to CHA by now!) and the following inspiration picture was chosen by DT member Mary (aka softangelkisses) for our color challenge.

I've also incorporated a Scripture verse that speaks of Christ love which happens to also be the challenge for Bible Verse Thursday from Angie! See, three challenges in one card!! I'm on a roll!! Well enough talk here is our creative inspiration for part of the week!!

More challenges I'll be sharing soon!! And I cannot wait to share with you some new adorable images from a new site I just found but you'll have to come back and see!

Here are the deets to my card:

Designer Paper: DCWV, Mediterranean Cafe line; Card Stock, SU and Neenah; Ink: Memento, rich cocoa and Distress Ink, Dried Marigold; Stamps: Hero Arts, butterflies; Sentiment: Taylored Expressions, Rest & Renewal; Spellbinders, Nestabilities Deckled Rectangle and Standard Circles, Large; Adhesive Pearls from stash colored with Copics; Butterfly colored with Copic Markers; Cuttlebug. Finished card is 5x5.

Thanks for looking and may you experience God's faithfulness through the steadfast love of the Lord Jesus Christ!!
As always, I love reading your delightful comments, have a wonderful day!

I'm So Cute!

Ummm, that would not be me, my dear delightful friends and family! That is the name of the stamp I used from Penny Black (Margaret Sherry Collection). What an appropriate name once you scroll down and see the card I did. I finally came out of my 48 hour slump from creativity. I could not make a card if my life depended on it. Well, that might be a little drastic but you get my drift! I was so grateful to Korin owner of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and the Sweet Stop Sketches Blog who shared this "easy" (her words) sketch with us at Christian Paper Crafts. It was just what I needed to get the creative juices flowing. I was desperately wanting to use this stamp and desperately wanting to use kraft paper to play in the challenge at the Spotted Chick's "That's Krafty Thursday" and my short-lived craft drought has officially ended!! Whew....

TKT#46 and SSS92

Sorry one of the markers is upside down (didn't wear my glasses when I grouped them together.

Ingredients: Designer Paper: BoBunny "Crazy Love Fudge and Flowers"; Card Stock: Bazzill & Neenah; Stamp: Penny Black; Ink: Memento, rich cocoa, Distress Ink, worn lipstick; Embellies: Bazzill ribbon; Rhinestones: my stash (sorry!); Tools: Nestabilities Labels One, Spellbinders; Scallop Circle border die, Taylored Expressions; Cuttlebug; Image colored by the above Copic markers. Finished size 4.25 x 5.5

PS If you want to see something really cute scroll down one post and check out two of my grandkids! They aren't babies anymore... (boo-hoo)

Sweet Cupcakes and a Couple of Sweet Cutie Patooties

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Earlier in the week I shared this sketch from Gloria Stengel for Christian Paper Crafts and today I have the card which was inspired by this delightful drawing! Fun challenges this week over there so be sure and take a peek! I think you'll be pleased with the Creative Blog and all the fun challenges.

CPC-ST92 (ingredients listed at the end of post)

We had fun watching Jakob "play" basketball this morning and I took a bunch of pictures but I'll only share one! Also Addy got bored with the inside game so she decided it would be a better idea if her momma took her outside to play and it was such a gorgeous day. So, I was able to take a few pics of her as well. These kids are growing up too quickly!

Jake getting ready to dribble. Look at that concentration! If you click to enlarge, you can see his "shiner" he ran into his dad's elbow.

(Addy age 19 months)

Ingredients to my card:
Designer Paper: Little Yellow Bicycle (Cupcake love) from the Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient Kit and KaiserCraft Candy Lane Collection (paper piecing); Card Stock: Bazzill and Neenah, bright white; Stamps: Taylored Expressions: Kid at Heart set; Colored with Copic markers, Embellished with: Dimensional Pearls, Expresso; Smooch, Sassy Pink; Tools: Scallop Eyelet Border Die, Taylored Expressions; Craft & Jewelry hemp cord by Cousins

I always look forward to your delightful comments, thanks for visiting today!

The LOVEly Blast From the Past Blog Hop!

Welcome to all the Delightful Blog Hoppers!
I'm sure you are having a LOVEly time viewing all the inspiring projects using Taylored Expression stamps! You may even be on your second cup of coffee!! And if you just left Jennifer's Blog then you are hopping right along!! I knew with the theme of "LOVE" I would be using this adorable stamp from the Wings of Joy set. Here is a wonderful sketch available for us from Sankari Wigman to get the creative ideas jump started:

Here is my card! Lots of color and LOTS of layers!!

Ahhh! Two Lovebirds!

The image is first stamped with Memento, Rich Cocoa and then colored with Copic Markers. I then used the Liquid Pearls (Petal Pink) to accent around the birdcage at the top and bottom. I replaced the holly with a heart which I cut out of the designer paper, added Stickles (Icicles) put Glossy Accents over it and then after it dried, attached to the top of the cage. The Scallop Circle is a punch from Marvy Uchida that I used a Copic marker to color the edges, then added the Liquid Pearls (Flamingo) to embellish.

Here are the list of ingredients not mentioned above:
Designer Paper: Kaiser Craft - Candy Lane Collection (Mango Drops, Strawberry Sundae, Sherbert);
Card Stock: Bazzill, Neenah (bright white)
Embellishments: Ribbon, Key Ingredients Kit, TE
Tools: Spellbinders, Nestabilities Standard Circles, large; Cuttlebug; EK Success, Diamond Scallop Border punch
Finished card is 4.25 x 5.5

Thanks for looking and now you should be heading over to the very talented Donna Baker - enjoy the rest of this delightful hop! Thank you for leaving a LOVEly comment!

Confessions and Love Birds...

I understand that confession is good for the soul...

Aaaaah!!!!! I'm so far behind in the challenges at Christian Paper Crafts, I'm so behind I'm ashamed of myself!! That's my confession!

Gloria has been sharing and creating some FABULOUS sketches and I've dropped the ball! As a matter of fact there are new challenges every day but Sunday from color, sketches, scrapbooking, Bible Verse Thursday, Fun challenges on Friday, CASEing, CAS, journaling and more! But I got so busy with the holidays and our "Love is in the Air" gallery reveal on January 15 that I've neglected all the other challenges. The good news is that there are no challenge police!! (whew!) Tonight I'm going to feature one card from last weeks sketch and then post this weeks sketch for y'all! (I have been busy in all fairness, so please out of the kindness of your heart please, please forgive me!) I would feel EVEN better if you were to go and check out the CREATIVE BLOG for Christian Paper Crafts!

I think you are going to like my card, maybe even love it!! This little stamp from Hero Arts is so stinkin' cute!! And the background owl paper, I love it! I got the next to last piece at Scrapper's Edge (where I work) and today someone snatch the last piece - kinda wishin' I had grabbed it first! Oh well. And the cute little sentiment on the front is from the new "KID AT HEART" set from TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS, It was all perfect for the sketch challenge. Of course, I took a little creative liberty and instead of an oval shape I did a heart. (I know Gloria will approve!) The ingredients are listed at the end of the post.

A finished inside card (whoo-hoo or is it in this case Hoot-hoot!!)

THIS WEEKS SKETCH!!!

Recipe for card: Designer Paper: My Minds Eye "Fine and Dandy" collection; Card Stock: Bazzill, kraft and Neenah bright white; Ink: Memento, rich cocoa and cantaloupe; Embellishments: American Crafts, ribbon; Tools: Marvy Uchida, scallop heart punch; EK Success, diamond scallop border punch. Stamps: Hero Arts (owls); Taylored Expressions (Love birds sentiment) Unity Stamp Co (inside sentiment); COPIC markers to color.

Thanks for stopping by and you know I love to read those delightful comments!!

Hello Delightful friends and family!
We had a belated birthday dinner for my son Sean and all the kids plus all the grandkids were there to celebrate. Here are my little and not so little cutie patooties in order of age!

Happy Birthday!

Hello Delightful friends and family!

Today is my son, Sean's birthday! So in honor of his day, I made him a card (duh!) but I love the sentiment on the inside "Growing Up is Optional" now I'm not saying Seanie needs to grow up (he's 32 and married, has two adorable daughters and a decent job) but I will say there are moments when you can see the little boy peeking out from behind that scruffy beard he has decided to grow. So this fun image I thought would be just a silly way of celebrating his "maturity" level or lack thereof! Happy Birthday, Sean - love you lots (as you already know!)

SSS#90

The sketch from The Sweet Stop Challenge blog may be familiar, it's from the last post! But this fun digi image and sentiment is from Bugaboo Stamps and this is Gus. This is one in a series. Take a moment and check out the website and see the other creations by Jodi Mackrell. They are hilarious. I know what digi I'll be choosing for my mom's birthday!!

Ingredients:

Designer paper: My Minds Eye "Fine and Dandy"; Card stock, Bazzill and Neenah bright white. I've colored the image with my Copics and the image was cut with a Nestie (lg deckled rectangle); Ribbon is from American Crafts. I also used Glossy Accents on Gus' glasses and the #7 on his "vehicle." Finished card 5.5 x 4.25

Thanks for looking and have a blessed week!
Please keep the following in your prayers: Abby, Jennipher, Randi, my grandbabies that are sick with coughs and fever and one with the stomach flu. Thanks!

Cocoa's Goin' Cupid

Happy Saturday to all my Delight Friends and Family!

Hope you are having an incredible day! I've had a pretty easy day, studied for quite a while and prepared the online Gospel of John Bible Study at Christian Paper Crafts. We are in chapter 10 and looking at the illustration Jesus shares about the Good Shepherd. Fascinating! And I always learn so much and can only put so much down in the post but I've hid it in my heart and I'm sure the Lord will get it poured out of me so I can get filled back up again!! This weeks study will be posted tomorrow evening but if you've not checked it out please head over to CPC and get involved! Love to read the comments and see how God is working in the lives of the readers. Quite a few of the ladies are so good about sharing and it really adds to the study! Be sure and join us and be inspired!

Well Cocoa is at it again! Valentine's Day is just around the corner so he is getting those cards ready to give out to his friends. This adorable image is a digi stamp that I bought at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and Cocoa is the sweet creation of owner Korin Sutherland. Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is one of our Partner Companies that we are so blessed to have at Christian Paper Crafts. Saturday is the Sweet Stop's Sketch challenge day so I grabbed (er.. bought) a couple of the digi's last night and was excited to play along!

Here is this weeks sketch, it's an easy one so if you are new to sketch challenges this would be a great one to try. It definitely gets the creative juices flowing and you'll be surprised with what you end up. I love playing along with the sketches!

(SSS90) I apologize the pic is a little dark, the other pic was better but the "bling" did it's "thing" in the picture!

Here is a list of the ingredients: Designer paper is scraps I had and I'm not sure of the company (sorry! It is a double sided paper however!) polka dots on one side and a flower pattern (click to enlarge if you want to see it!) on the other. The cardstock is Bazzill and Neenah bright white. The ribbon is from my stash also, I'm not much help here! And the bling rhinestones are from Kaiser. I also used my new EK Success border punch, scallop diamonds. Cocoa was colored with Copic Markers.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Be sure and get into fellowship with a Bible believing and teaching church and get involved - they need you! Please remember our family I have two grandbabies sick with a fever and cough and a daughter in law with the stomach flu. We also have a few ladies at CPC in need of prayer: Abby, Brenda, Jennipher and Randi are at the top of the list. Thanks so much and I love reading your delightful comments!

*You're Sew Special*

Hello and don't fall off your chair from shock - I'm posting again this week!!

If you remember I mentioned that I wanted to be more consistent in writing and since Christmas and New Year's is behind me I can focus on that a bit more. Although today was not the greatest. Our darling little granddaughter Addy is sick with a fever and a nasty cough. And if Addy isn't happy then nobody is going to be happy!! I think she's practicing for when she is the "queen of the house" right now she is only in princess status. It is so true though, it's the woman who controls the "thermostat" of the home! So ladies let's remember to walk in the Spirit and not after the flesh. We will be in a much better mindset (strive to have the mind of Christ), if we remember that and our families will be much happier as well. Nothing is worse than a cranky momma! Even the Bible has something to say about that in the book of Proverbs. (check it out in Proverbs 14:1 21:9, 19 and my all time favorite Proverbs 27:15). Just know I'm sharing this in "love" I promise (!) and I'm still learning these things myself. It's good to be reminded :-)

Be sure and check out Gloria's fantastic sketch at the Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog! She is quite the crafter, you'll find her name and link to her blog on the sidebar we serve on the Design Team together at CPC. I wanted to post the sketch (CPC-ST-90) but for some reason it's teeny tiny when I uploaded it. So, I deleted it, but I did follow it almost exactly.

A few months ago I bought a digital set from Two Peas in a Bucket called Sew Crafty and here are two of the elements (image and sentiment). It's originally from the Hero Arts line. I colored it with my Copic markers and the papers are Basic Grey (design paper) Neenah bright white card stock and Bazzill, gray and blue card stock. The ribbon is from American Crafts and the button is from Foofala Buttons in a Bag. The ric rak at the bottom is an EK Success border punch called Zig Zag Stitching and I repeated it. I also ran it through my Cuttlebug using the Sizzix folder called Starry Night (coordinating with the Basic Grey paper). The finished card is 6"by 6".

Good night everyone! It's way past my bedtime and I'm expecting the grandbabies in the morning. Don't forget you are a delight to me and very *special* God bless!

Please remember the following in your prayers:
Abby
Randi
Jennipher
I don't have to go into details, the Lord knows. Thank you!

Hello and Happy New Year to all my delightful friends and family!

I love this sketch from Korin at The Sweet Stop! I wish I had not gotten sidetracked and attached my ribbon before placing my circle! I guess my creative juices decided to go a different direction! I have to admit the photo does not do it justice, you may have to click to enlarge to see some of the elements (like the Glossy Accents and the Crystal Tiny Twinkles). Well, thanks for looking and I hope you are keeping cozy in your neck of the woods! You can catch all the ingredients to this card at the end of the post.
