Word Art Wednesday Challenge - Guess who our sponsor is this week?

Hello Delightful Friends!

Time for another fun challenge at Word Art Wednesday!  Our sponsor this week is a favorite company of mine: Lawn Fawn! Be sure and check out their site and visit their blog for fun and instructional videos, too! Our challenge is Anything Goes/Family Friendly and you can share 5 new projects each week the challenge runs (2 weeks).  The more you share with us the more chances of winning a $25 gift certificate to Lawn Fawn!

Here is my card:

The Lawn Fawn products I've used are Under the Stars stamp set; Starry Night and Simple Stitched Hillside dies. I've add a bit of Nuvo Crystal Drops for dimension.  My bunnies were stamped with Taylored Expressions Oreo hybrid ink and colored with pencils and the stars were stamped with a white ink. The Scripture Art is from Galatians 5:13 "For brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another."
Wouldn't it be nice if the protesters/rioters would live by those words. Things are so ugly right now especially in the big cities.  It's so sad.  Many prayers are needed to continue for peace and that people would lovingly serving one another instead of hating and walking in the flesh which is being influenced by the enemy of our soul (the devil). So many are deceived and blinded with hate.

Help us Lord...
Thanks for visiting.

Encouraging Words and Wavin' Hello

Hello Delightful Friends!
Hope your week is going well!  This week at Word Art Wednesday our sponsor is Lawn Fawn!  Yay!  Love their products (as you can see by my card I've used a lot of their fun dies and stamps).  Here is a link to their fun blog.  Our bi-weekly challenge gives you plenty of time to enter into the challenge and remember you can enter 5 times each week with a new project!  Looking forward to checking out the inspiration!  The challenge is Anything Goes - Family Friendly.

Here is my card:

Front

                                                                             Inside

Ingredients:  (Lawn Fawn)
Lawn Fawn Dies: Ocean Wave border, Spring Showers (sun), Butterfly Kisses (clouds)
Stamps: Critters in the Sea (dolphin, crab and wavin' hello sentiment); Polka in the Meadow 6x6 paper pad.

Here is our Scripture Art (free to use!) for this week that the design team used:

I thought this verse would be perfect as an encouraging word to a friend and a special birthday blessing for the upcoming year.  I know it's my prayer for myself!  Remembering to stay joyful while growing as a Christian can be a challenge.  Growing pains can be painful but know that the Lord is increasing us in strength and knowledge in Him is a real blessing.  I've been teaching a ladies group in our church and we are studying in Hebrews and we are in chapter 6 which is a very challenging chapter.  But knowing that the Lord is with us and encouraging us in the walk, knowing that we can endure whatever comes our way because He will give us His strong consolation/encouragement to persevere is priceless.  Our hearts our strengthened knowing that the Lord Jesus is our strong refuge in tough times and knowing that God's promises are true and that He cannot lie gives us faith to walk between the times we understand the promise and when the promise is fulfilled. He is always faithful and everyday we can trust Him - and that's a wonderful promise. To God be all the glory!

Cute Birthday Monsters - Seize the Birthday

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
I forgot to post this card during the 30 Day Color Challenge in June but it works perfectly for the challenge at Seize the Birthday (Anything Goes) this week! I made this for my granddaughter's birthday party.  Boy does she rate because this was the second card I made for her!

Ingredients:
Taylored Expressions Stamp (from kit) & Balloon Die (Party time)
Neenah bright white and Bazzill Purple c/s
Colored with Copics and embellished with Glossy Accents.
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black and Ranger Grape Soda Dye Ink

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.  I hurt my knee yesterday (my good knee!).  So I've been on the couch with an ice pack.  Not exactly how I want to spend my Saturday but I've got to recover so I can go to work on Monday!  I will have to delegate some of my church duties so I don't have to climb up and down the stairs, too.  I usually get the Media Shout ready which includes all the lyrics,Scriptures and announcements uploaded for the projector which is upstairs in our "sound" room.  Please say a prayer for a quick recovery please!  God is faithful!

Thanks for visiting and have a fantastic weekend!

Nature Sings with Joy - Word Art Wednesday #192

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
I love trying new techniques and with this card I've used the Stitched Hillside Border (Lawn Fawn) to add a bit of interest on my water color background.  After the watercolor was dry I trimmed out the background to 4" x 5-1/8" and then die cut the background pieces.  I simply taped them back together on the backside. I love the breezy/wavy feel to the card. I added dimensional tape to pop it up on the white card base.  Then I stamped and doodled on the flowers with a black micron pen and a white pen (nothing fancy!) I punched out the digi Scripture with a large scallop oval punch. It reminded me of a cloud so of course I had to add the sun peeking over the edge.
Isn't this a great verse!  Nothing like a little singing to bring out the joy!  Even in the midst of trials it's amazing how singing to the Lord can lift your spirit! Even nature seems to be singing and clapping it's hands at times.

I hope you will consider joining us this week at Word Art Wednesday, it's challenge #192!  We are a family friendly challenge blog and we would love for you to join us.  We have fabulous sponsors that are so generous, most weeks there are more than one prize to win!  Be sure and check out what the Design Team is sharing this week and leave them some love!

Here are the ingredients to my card!
Stamp: Taylored Expressions - Faith in Bloom (flowers); and Lawn Fawn- Seasons Tweetings (musical notes);
Dies: Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside border (background) and Spring Showers (sun)
Punch: Scallop Oval (Marvy Uchida)
Re-Inkers: Mermaid Lagoon and Twisted Citron (Ranger Distress Inks)
Ranger Water color paper
Neenah Bright white card stock
Uni-ball Signa Broad white pen
Archival Jet Black ink

Happy Anniversary, Love You Tons! (STS #27)

Hello Delightful friends and family!
What a quick month this has been! The grandkids are back in school (except Princess Tucker) so I'll have a bit more free time (well, in my mind anyway...) it seems I can always fill up that "free" time with housework and getting caught up on some work at the church.  I'm getting my craftroom organized, one area at a time, that's exciting!  My sweet hubby and I celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary last Friday and here is the card I made him.  I used the sketch from Seize the Sketch challenge blog.  This is their last challenge, they are closing down (bummer!) I really liked following the inspiration over there.  Here is the card for their last challenge:
I paper pieced the elephants instead of coloring them.  This stamp set is from Lawn Fawn.

Inside sentiment is from Paper Smooches and I colored the hearts lightly with a Copic Marker.

I will also be entering this at Word Art Wednesday #147 Anything Goes

The last few baseball seasons we've been going to a couple of San Francisco Giant games each year and we always try to schedule our trip for Fellowship Day at AT&T Park where the Christian ballplayers share their testimonies. The last three years have included a concert with a popular Christian music artist.  This year was Natalie Grant.  Wow!! It was great!  Here are some pictures I took of the game on Friday night and two following the Saturday game for Fellowship Day.  Some of the proceeds for the event went to the Salvation Army and the athletes paid for the concert.  Pretty nice and a real blessing!

We had a wonderful time with our friends the Clarks and hope to go again next summer, thanks to the San Francisco Giants organization!  Go Giants!

Summer Camp Out!

Hello Delightful Friends & Family
Here is a quick post to share a card I made for a little guy in our church who had a birthday last week and a campout with some of his buddies in his big backyard that borders the forest.  Since I'm not home (still up in Oregon, tending to my momma) I can't really give you any details about the card.  Except that I did do the whitewash fence technique for the background, some masking and fussy cutting.  And I used three different stamp sets (Taylored Expressions- S'more Fun, Lawn Fawn - Happy Trails and Hero Arts-Essential Messages on the inside.)
I made this for Jakob and Addy to give to Garison which fit the theme perfectly for his summer birthday!

This card will be entered in the following challenges:
Seize the Birthday

Inside of the card:

Thanks for visiting!  Enjoy the weekend.

Christmas Tags Day 5

Hello Delightful Friends and Family! '
If you are returning for Day 5 of my Christmas tags,
THANK YOU!

Here are some more of my favorite tags.
I've entered them in the Try Stampin' on Tuesday - Tag-Stavaganza
and
Totally PaperCrafts Challenge Blog #196 (Anything Christmassy but not a card)

 Aren't these cute?!
All the trees are from Taylored Expressions (Woodland Winter set and matching dies)
Left tag sentiment is from Lawn Fawn (Peace, Joy, Love set)  I've added Liquid Pearls to embellish.
Right tag: sentiment stamp is from Our Daily Bread Designs and the Stitch lines are from the Lawn Fawn set; the Holly is from the Taylored Expressions set mentioned above.

Sentiments are stamps from Our Daily Bread Designs (Luke 2:11 and Christmas Verses)
EK Success Corner rounder on left tag; Oval scallop is a Spellbinders Nestabilities die. The Holly berry stamp is that notorious unknown stamp set.

 Close up of the details
Tag on the left:  background was first made with the Distress ink pads & stains, Dylusions ink sprays, a mini mister filled with water and a craft sheet, dried with a heat gun and then embossed with a Sizzix (Alterations) Holly folder; the seam binding was dyed using the matching inks from the background colors and then I pleated it (here is a TUTORIAL for the pleated ribbon) and adhered it to the designer paper (Carta Bella - "Merry Notes" So this is Christmas Collection) Added a bow and a button (Queen & Co) to finish it off.
Tag on the right: background laid down first, then stenciled (Alterations Harlequin design) over the background.  Then the layers begin with the Carta Bella Paper, Holly leaves stamped and fussy cut, spritzed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.  Buttons (Queen and Co.) added for the berries.

Thanks again for visiting and hope you might glean a little crafty inspiration!

Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous;
 And shout for joy,
all you upright in heart!  Psalm 32:11

Christmas Tags - Day 4

Hello Delightful friends and family!

It's day 4 and four more tags to share.

Here are a few of the details:
I've added designer paper to the lower half of the first tag.  The mirrored stars are from the Tim Holtz
Idea-ology Collection; Christmas Blessing (Taylored Expression); I've stenciled stars at the top and added tiny rhinestones to embellish.

Here is a close up so that you can see the texture in the mason jar.  I've used modeling paste for snow. The stamp and the sentiment is from Lawn Fawn.  The jar and topper is the die and stamp set I've been using and the chevron die they are all  from Taylored Expressions. The snowflakes on the burlap are from my stash.

Here are two more tags, the
tree stamp is from Stamping Up! I've added just a little of the modeling paste for snowy texture on the tree.  The Joy stamp is from that earlier collection that I've been using and that I'm not sure of the manufacturer. 2nd tag sentiment is from Taylored Expressions; WR Memory Keeps Washi Tape and Liquid Pearls to embellish. Holly & Ivy Stencil (Tim Holtz line) was used for the background.

Hope you're enjoying these tags!  There are more to come in the next few days.
I will be entering these tags in the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge Tag - Stravaganza and the Totally PaperCrafts Challenge Blog (#196 Anything Christmassy but a card)

Thanks for visiting!

This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:5

Altered Manila folder Scrapbook - Part 4 The End!

 Hello Delightful friends and family
This is my last installment of the Altered Scrapbook from manila folders!  I hope I've inspired you to make one!

I like putting journaling tags on the pages so that Momma or Daddy could write to sweet baby girl.  I hope that they will, it would be a real treasure years down the road.
I've used a scallop eyelet die from Taylored Expressions for the border of the tag.  The frame is the Spellbinder Nestabilities die. I adhered 3 sides and left one side open to slide the picture in.  The alpha Stamp set is from Lawn Fawn.

The flower paper is double-sided and I've used the back side to embellish with the scallop eyelet border (Taylored Expressions) and the Spellbinder Nestabilities die to frame out a picture and make the journaling tag. The button is from Doodlebug and the ribbon American Crafts.

Stamp set is Lawn Fawn and Designer paper is from MMI; the card stock of the right is Bazzill.

This stamp set is from The Sweet Stamp Shop (Happy Bugs), lace (KaiserCraft)

LAST PAGE!!!!  I've used a vellum envelope, more pre-made journaling tags and a custom flower (Taylored Expressions KI kit, flower).  I've colored it with Memento cantaloupe ink and then added a button (Doodlebug) and some natural hemp (Darice).  Not pictured is another mini bag and tag with a personal note from me slipped inside this envelope.

Well....Th th th th that's ALL folks!  Thanks again for checking out the altered manila folder scrapbook!  It was a fun project.  I hope you'll give it a try!  God bless!
