Camo Birthday Card for Jakob - CPS254

Hello Delightful friends and family,
Tomorrow is our grandson Jakob's 5th birthday!  His birthday party is a camo/military themed party so I thought I'd make a themed card for him.

The sketch I've used is from Card Positioning Systems this week. It is sketch #254.

The image is a Digi stamp from Bugaboo Stamps. Designer Paper is Reminisce (Hunter's Camo - The Great Outdoors) and Creative Imaginations, the colored card stock is Bazzill. The button is from Basic Grey (Wisteria collection) and the fiber is Darice Hemp Cording.

(CPS 254)

Colored with Copics (E0000, E11, E25, E33, YG91, YG93, YG93, YG95, YG97, BG96, BG0000, C0, C01), framed out with Spellbinders Reverse Wonky Rectangle (Nestabilities) and sponged with Pumice Stone Distress Ink.

I created the sentiment on the computer and printed it out on Neenah Bright White Card Stock (Spellbinders Reverse Wonky Recktangle) The finished card is 6 x 6.

This was today after playing in the mud and goofying off in front of this grammie's camera. Needless to say, he and Addy both had to strip down and I had to wash all of their clothes!

But Jesus called them to Him and said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it."  Luke 18:16-17

Thanks so much for visiting and have a blessed day!

Take Note

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
Here is a card I made for the Taylored Expressions February Key Ingredient  Subscriber Challenge and Blog Hop.  (Whew, that was a mouthful!)  The theme this month is Take Note.

(Sorry for the poor quality of the photo, I think my camera battery needs to be recharged)

Here are the ingredients that are NOT in the kit:  Stamps set: Labels of Love and Minature Motifs; Ink: Distress Ink: Vintage Photo and Archival, Coffee. T.E. Dies: Take Note Frame 3 and Medium Scallop Border; a small manila tag

Directions: cut base from kraft card stock 5.5 x 11; cut Watermelon card stock, 5-3/8 x 5-3/8; cut Designer Paper (My Mind's Eye) 5.25 x 5.25 and stamp on lower corner the label and sentiment. Diecut scallop border using coordinating dp and diecut Take Note Frame from Kraft card stock.  Cut frame in thirds and sponge around edge with Distress ink.  Stamp sentiment "Thinking of You"; Stamp tag using the Mini Motifs and sponge around the edges.  Cut ribbon, tie bow, adhere rose.  See placement: place tag and frame before adhering the scallop border. Adhere the layers, add the bow and flower to tag.

Thanks for looking and be sure and check out Taylored Expressions for more info about the Key Ingredient Kits and enjoy the subscriber hop (the hop runs through March 8!)

Thinking Of You - CPS #253

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
I'm thinking of you as we start a new week, hope your Monday is going well.  I'm getting over a bug but was well enough to go to work today.  Good thing, too because a co-worker called in sick.  Nasty little fever and upper respiratory thing affecting a lot of people.  Ick! Out comes the Nettie Pot, Vicks Vabor Rub, hot tea and honey then early to bed, that's my remedy for kicking this, oh almost forgot the most important ingredient, PRAYER!

I started a card this weekend but couldn't finish it until tonight for the Card Positioning Systems challenge this week.  BTW, I got the thumbs up that all my 15 cards qualified for the grand prize from their anniversary celebration! So, now is the waiting game, I think this coming weekend we should know who won any of the prizes.
This weeks prize is sponsored by the The Twinery.  Here is the link  The Twinery Blog.

Here is my card:

February Calendar Challenge - TECALCHAL

Hooray for Friday!  Hello Delightful friends and family.
It's a busy weekend ahead of me, I'll be attending a Women's Day Retreat at the Salvation Army on Saturday, then church services on Sunday. I thought I should get my Taylored Expressions calendar challenge posted before I forget and then spend some time with my hubby when he gets home!  I've used one of the mini Tear-off calendars and the Desktop holder to display it, all found at the TE store.

(TECALCHAL)

The stamp set I've used is the TE Wreath of Love and I've also used the TE dies: Seasonal Wreath and Bow. Echo Park (Yours Truly) and Bazzill card stock is the paper used.  Buttons and ribbon are from my stash.  Copic markers, Distress Ink, Black Soot and Memento tuxedo black ink finish off the ingredients.

Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

BFF 'n ever - PDCC#119

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
I have a funny card for you today!  I can think of a number of "old" friends that I could send this to and get a good laugh.  I hope this makes you smile today!

I'm playing in the Play Date Cafe Challenge this week and as you can see by the photo we have some pretty sweet colors to focus on!

The stamp and sentiment are from the line called "Girlfriends" (of course!) and is made by Art Impressions.  We just got this line of stamps in the store and I was cracking up over all of them and could hardly wait for an opportunity to ink this one up.  Looking forward to taking the card in to show the girls at work.

Inside

Ingredients:  Designer Paper: Echo Park (Yours Truly collection); Bazzill and Neenah card stock; Ink: Memento Tuxedo black; Colored with Copics; Fiskars Upper Crest border Punch was used on the inside.  I kept the design simple I had intended on paper piecing all the outfits but that was hard with the mainly black patterned paper so only the polka dotted friend has been paper pieced.  I used a stencil to outline the stars with a fine tip sharpie and then colored it in with Copic R43.  The finished card is 4.25 x 5.5

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have an excellent day!

CPS Day 15 Card (Sketch 231) the Kiddos and Baseball!

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
So thankful I was able to finish this card tonight!  Fifteen cards and fifteen sketch challenges complete! Yay!! Perhaps I'll win one of the prizes, that would be cool.
I'm also sharing a few pics of the grandkiddos I took today (end of post).  We are having some crazy weather for February!  Monday was freezing cold plus an earthquake, today has warmed up enough to play outside with Jakob and Addy.

Day 15 sketch - CPS#231
Here is my last card to share for the Anniversary Celebration at Card Positioning Systems so I want to say another CONGRATS to Tami Mayberry and her DT for the outstanding inspiration they've been sharing for the last five years!  Be sure and check out Day 15 and Kim Moreno's adorable card!
My card today is a birthday card (I have two daughters, a daughter-in-law, three granddaughters, my mom, two sisters, three nieces so I never run out of a need of a girlie birthday card!)  This digi image is  Marcie from the Bug and Roo Friends at Lori Boyd Designs another little sweetie that reminds me of Addy!
This card also qualifies for the challenge at By Lori Designs using HEARTS BLD#24

I've use the Echo Park  paper called "Little Girl"; card stock is Bazzill and the image was copied onto Neenah card stock. The scalloped edge is a sticker from the Echo Park collection. The sentiment is a digi from By Lori Designs and I fussy cut it out.  I've used my Copics to color and then fussy cut Marcie and adhered her to another piece of the Neenah bright white card stock and then used my Spellbinder Nestabilities Deckled Rectangle Die to frame her out.  I was trying so hard to get the hair color similar to Addy's gorgeous red highlights but I fell very short!  I need to practice a lot more!

Rosy cheeks and dark brown eyes!

Look at those highlights!

We are so ready for baseball season to start!!
My sister and daughters (and my mom and husband) secretly conspired to make it possible for me to go to Arizona for a couple of San Francisco Giant spring season games with the girls this year.  I'm so excited, we all are huge Giant fans, usually from afar or watching the games on television.  Kerry (dh) and I try and go once a year during our anniversary week which is fun for both of us (Game, then shopping in the city! Can't beat that!) He won't be going to Spring Training due to his job at the mill and then pastoring the church, it makes it difficult for him to get away.  Maybe next year....

T-Ball is just around the corner, Jake's got a wicked swing and was really hitting the ball well today, it surprised me because it's been a while since we've played.

The spot he is standing is the exact spot my children stood playing homerun derby with the wiffle ball in the backyard!  Those were some good times!  Of course by the end of the summer, I had no grass only base paths but that was ok.
Oh yeah, we are ready for some baseball....

You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.  1 Peter 2:9

Thanks for visiting! Hope you'll leave a delightful comment.  God bless!

Day 14 at CPS #45 - Pure Innocence card

Hello Delightful friends and family!  I'm so excited to report that I have until NEXT Sunday to finish all 15 challenges for the Anniversary celebration at Card Positioning Systems and guess what?  I only have one more after today to do! I thought the deadline was yesterday, boy I'm so relieved about that!!
I've had so much fun getting inspiration from the sketches.  It's also helped me get my Valentine cards done for the little ones (and big ones) and my co-workers, too!
I'm in love with this next card!  Heather Ellis is the artist of the Pure Innocence digi stamps and I was so excited to find her etsy shop!  This cutie pie can be used for many different occasions but since there are a couple of hearts shown I'm going for the Valentine card!
This sketch is #45 so be sure and check out the sample by Keri Sereiki

I would consider this CAS even though there are some embellies and layers but it is minimal, don't you think?  The paper comes from the Key Ingredient Kit January 2012 (Taylored Expressions) the designer paper is Crate Paper and the card stock is Bazzill.  The image (Pure Innocence #017) is printed on Neenah bright white #80 - HP printer.  I've colored her with Copics: E000, E00, E11, E13, E18, E19, E25, E55, R000, R00, R01, R81, R83, B0000, B12, B21, BG23, YG13.  The ribbon is from my stash and the flower and button are from Making Memories,{note}worthy. I've used my Cuttlebug and the Spellbinders Nestie, Deckled Rectangle to frame out the image.

Thanks so much for looking and if I do not get back on here tomorrow to add the final card I hope you have a delightful Valentines Day!  God bless.

CAS Love - CPS #121

Hello Delightful friends and family,
We are counting down the hours now before Valentines Day so I thought for those of you needing a clean and simple design that this sketch #121 from Card Positioning Systems would be a great one to use. (This is my second card using this sketch from Day 13 for the anniversary celebration at CPS.)

CPS#121

All the main ingredients come from the Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient kit for January 2012 - Paper: Crate Paper and Bazzill card stock.  The stamp set is T.E., Bugabee (love) and I've used Ranger Liquid Pearls, Memento tuxedo black ink, a Marvy Uchida scallop heart punch and the Spellbinders Nestie scallop circle.  Pretty simple and I didn't even use dimensionals, it's flat for hassle free mailing as well!
Have a blessed day!

CPS Day 12 and 13

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
Trying really, really hard to get all 15 sketches in before the deadline! Yikes! I think I have two more cards that I need to finish by Sunday.  Not sure how that's going to happen with church plus Jakob's preschool is having a spaghetti feed at 3pm (why on a Sunday I don't know!) and since this Grammie & Poppa bought tickets we'd better show up.  Poppa needs his nap between services so I'm not so sure how this is going to work out!

Here are the sketches for Day 12 and Day 13 at Card Positioning Systems and my cards following.

Day 12 CPS#118

Day 13 CPS#121

CPS #118  All Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient Kit (January 2012)supplies except for Copics and Stamp set TE: Love Grows Here set and Memento Ink (black).  I also used Spica pens to add a little sparkle to the green on the tree and the hearts but the picture is not picking it up.

Here is a CAS card for Day 13 CPS #121
All Designer Paper is Basic Grey (6x6 pad: Kissing Booth) and the Stamp is from Taylored Expressions Bugabee set.  Memento tuxedo black ink, the Spellbinders Scallop Circle and the Marvy Uchida scallop heart which is popped up with dimensionals.  Card Stock is Neenah bright white.  I think if I were to do this one again (love the sketch!) I'll add some liquid pearls to embellish the heart and scallop circle.  But I love the browns and the pinks/reds together.

Thanks for looking and I am heading to bed!!  It's late and it will be another busy day in the Houston household tomorrow!  God bless.

Praying For You - CPS Day 11 Sketch 170

Hello Delightful Friends and Family,
I needed a sympathy card (a ministry friend's wife went to be with the Lord this week) for a memorial service and gathering we are going today.  I've needed too many of these cards lately.  Please lift up our friend Jim whose wife passed quite suddenly and unexpectedly on the way to the city to have some medical tests done.  Two memorial services today... it may be a tough day but please pray that we will be able to share the love and comfort that comes from knowing Jesus.

Today I'm sharing Day 11 at the Card Positioning Systems Anniversary challenges. Jennie Harper chose this sketch and had a cute Valentine card to share.

CPS #170

I tried to keep this somewhat masculine (even though there is a bit of pink) with the sponging and the water color technique with more earthtones.  I sponged Broken China Distress Ink around the Scripture which matches the paper nicely although it doesn't really show that in this picture.
Ingredients:  Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs (Scripture collection 3) and Taylored Expressions (sentiment; Care & Comfort); Designer paper: KaiserCraft, Hummingbird collection; Card stock: Bazzill and Watercolor Paper. Distress stains: Tea dye and Tumbled glass; Distress Inks: Broken China and Vintage Photo; Memento Tuxedo Black; Fiskars Upper Crest border punch; Spellbinder Nesties Labels 22; Cuttlebug

Enjoy your day and God bless.

Be still and know that I am God.  Psalm 46:10

Love card and CPS - Day 10 #26 Anniversary challenge

Hello Delightful friends and family!
A busy weekend ahead for my dear hubby and I.  So not sure how much fun crafty time I'll be able to fit in. But as I shared a couple of posts ago, I'm learning to see interruptions as positive and an opportunity to participate in God's purpose for my life.  Afterall, the Lord needs to be my priority, first and foremost. (Remember, I'm studying the Book of Jonah!)

Here is my card for Day 10 of the Card Positioning Systems Anniversary celebration.  Sketch #26 was chosen by Lee Murphy for this challenge and I really thought it was going to be a tough one for me but it came together quite quickly. (thank you, Lord!!)

The ingredients:  Designer Paper - Basic Grey, Kissing Booth Collection; Card Stock: Bazzill, Ribbon, Stamp: Bugabee set (Taylored Expressions); Magic Mesh, Raspberry Fine weave. Ink: Memento, Tuxedo Black and Distress Ink (sponging), Vintage Photo (very lightly around sentiment edges).

Thanks for looking and I appreciate your delightful comments! God bless.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.  Ephesians 2:10

I'll make this a quick post so I can get back to the craft table before the grandbabies get here for the day!
