Joy Fold Cards - Snowflakes

Hello Delightful friends and family,
I'm finally able to post the cards I made for our Ladies Ministry Christmas Party!  My card theme was snowflakes as you can see by the pictures.  I shared with the ladies how we are unique as a snowflake being fearfully and wonderfully made by God.  Just as God has a treasury of snow, we are His treasure, too - created for His glory!

I had a couple of cards left over to share. The Joy Fold Technique I used is found at Splitcoast Stampers on their resource page.  I've made each card a little different, using 4 different embossing folders and two different paper patterns (double sided) from this years Christmas Bo Bunny Powder Mountain collection.  The card stock is Bazzill and Neenah bright white.  The stamp set is Christmas Blessing from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I love all the Christmas sentiments that ODBD have in their online store here. I've used three different dies: Spellbinders Nestabilites scallop oval, deckled rectangle and the Sizzix Sizzlits mini snowflake rosettes. In place of ribbon, I chose to use Tulle in white and pale blue.  I've attached each snowflake rosette on the tulle bow with a repositionable Zots Dots (adhesive) so that they could be removed, the tulle slips through the hole at the edge of the snowflake and could be used as an ornament!

Inside top fold
ODBD stamp on the inside panel and the ink is Nautical Blue (Memento)

The center of the snowflake I've added silver Stickles (Ranger).  I ended up making 24 cards!  Whew!! It was fun to do and I'm glad the ladies enjoyed them.

 Thanks so much for visiting!!

CAS - Blessed Christmas (CCDC1)

Hello Delightful friends and family,
Hope this finds you well!  It's been a while since I've been able to post (computer woes continue!) but I did want to share this CAS card for a challenge at Cindy Coutts blog.

THE CHALLENGE: Make a clean and simple nontraditional Christmas colors card using a die-cut or embossing folder (optional) that can be easily mass produced.

 CCDC1

This card could definitely be mass produced  and the color of the designer paper has more of an orange/rust color to it so I hope it qualifies as non traditional.  The only thing that would be considered time consuming would be the ink blending around the edges of the poinsettia and the focal point labels.  And the  next one I will use my Stamp-a-ma-jig to center the sentiment better. Of course a well placed bling or two or three to the side will fix this on mine! Wouldn't this CAS be a great way to use up some of those Christmas paper scraps you have?  I saw a card in the CARD magazine (Dec 2012 pg 73) that was very similar to the challenge so I need to give Amber Kroening a shout out for her inspiration, too.

Ingredients:  Designer Paper: Memory Box, Tinsel collection; Neenah bright white card stock;  Stamp: Our Daily Bread Designs, Blessed Christmas set; Dies:  Sizzix Alterations (Movers and Shakers) Mini Cardinal and Poinsettia set and Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels; Ink: Archival Russet and Distress Ink, Vintage Photo; EK Success corner punch and Cuttlebug (Provocraft).

Thanks for visiting!!

Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but to Your name give glory, because of Your mercy, because of Your truth.  Psalm 115:1

Encouragment Card - Word Art Wednesday #56

Hello Delightful friends and family!
I have been completely MIA from my blog this month!!  I'm having computer woes! I need to invest in a new computer but it's just not the top priority financially right at the moment. So... I'm a bit hit and miss here because it's too frustrating to work on a computer that's ready to give up the ghost and slower than dial up (no kidding)!  However, I've been very busy making lots of cards for our Ladies Ministry Christmas Party coming up on the 8th, I'm making 25 cards for that, plus finishing up the cards for my 2 sisters and my sister-in-laws birthdays this month. It's been a very busy month.
My oldest daughter is heading to Mexico for a week long vacation and it's her birthday tomorrow, so I doubt she will see this but I still want to say,  "Happy Birthday, AMY!!!"

I'm so thankful for the Lord's goodness and I believe this Scripture I've used works perfectly for this weeks Word Art Wednesday challenge. So without further ado....

Most of the ingredients are from this months Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient Kit. The stamp is from the set called Faith in Bloom. The dies are Chevron Border (Taylored Expressions) and Spellbinders Oval Scallop Nestabilities. I've used Memento Nautical Blue to stamp the image and the sentiment.  Super simple card to make.  I'm hoping in the very near future to make room for my sewing machine so I can start to embellish the cards with some stitching, I just love that added touch!

He who follows righteousness and mercy finds life, righteousness and honor. Proverbs 21:21

Please keep us lifted up in prayer.  Our church fellowship has some members with very serious physical problems and need a touch from the Lord.  There are three members with late stages of cancer; one young man (24 yrs) just had a lung transplant (he was born with cystic fibrosis) so this is a miracle in itself for him to be given such a precious gift but it also means that someone else's family is suffering the loss of a loved one. Also, substance abuse in our area is very high and the effects of this in the families is heart wrenching.  It's very difficult to see so many families hurting.  When one member hurts, we all hurt for them and when it's multiplied over, it can at times be very overwhelming, especially for the pastor so please pray for my husband and I to be strengthened by the Lord, who is always so faithful.  To God be all the glory.
Thanks for visiting and thank you for your prayers!

Emboss Resist tags for Christmas

Hello Delightful friends and family!  Brrrr is it cold today!!!  We've had such a crazy weather day, sunshine, hail, rain and a couple of rainbows, too.  I wish I had my camera with me when I went to the school to pick up Jakob from kindergarten.  There was a beautiful rainbow and I've never captured one with a camera before.

Well, today I'm sharing some more tags that I've done.  I've used the resist emboss technique.  Love how these turned out. They are not nearly as beautiful nor extravagant as the ones I've seen on pinterest or in blogland but they are definitely a good choice if you  like or prefer the CAS style or want to try the technique.  By the way, there are many tutorials in blogland that share how to do the technique if you are new to this.
My first tag isn't complete but I wanted to share it anyway.  The tags are a larger size than the last tag post.  They measure 2.5" by 5-1/8 and are from Paper Accents.  I've used clear embossing powder (Ranger) with Versamark embossing ink to stamp the image.  All of the background inks are Distress Inks and I cleaned off my table and put them away before writing them down! (oops) However, I do know that I did use Aged Mahagony, Broken China, Salty Ocean, Fired Brick, Barn Door, Pine Needles, Bundled Sage and Shabby Shutters.  There may be one or two more, but it's always fun to experiment with the colors, so have fun if you decide to mix and match the colors.  I've also used Memento Tuxedo Black to stamp the Mixed Media Background (Ranger Tim Holtz stamp) on tag #2.
#1
The stamp I've used is from Stampin' Up! called Evergreen, I have a feeling I'll be using this stamp set a lot this Christmas season. The bow is ribbon from American Crafts.  I've distressed the bottom edge of the tag with my fingernail and then blended the Aged Mahogany ink along that bottom panel. I used a posted note to mask off the area.

#2
I still have to adhere a "To and From" on this one.  The Stamp I've used is from Our Daily Bread Designs called "Blessed Christmas" isn't it pretty?  There is a matching die that coordinates with it.  The ribbon is from Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient Kit.  Ranger Liquid Pearl (rouge) embellishes the center of the poinsettia.

#3
This is my favorite!  I've used the same Evergreen stamp, then added some brown dotted/white fabric tape.  I've used the Die-namics Fishtail Flag Stax from My Favorite Things and the TO and FROM is a stamp from Taylored Expresssions (Tag... You're It!).  The sparklies are Tiny Twinkles from Taylored Expressions and the ribbon is American Crafts.

These tags are a gift for either my sister or sister-in-law.  Haven't decided yet!  But I have a lot of smaller ones to add to the collection.  Well, that's it for me today, need to bundle up and get warm!  Brrrrr!

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.  Isaiah 26:3

Here is a card I made for my co-worker, Saundra.  Happy Birthday Saundra!!!  We celebrated her birthday yesterday at work with some yummy monster cookies from the bakery (delish!!)

This card is also entered into the Word Art Wednesday challenge this week.  This weeks challenge is "Give Thanks" which I do for my co-workers and having a job in a place that is very creative and so I just want to say thank you, it's a pleasure to work for the "other" Sondra who is the owner of Scrapper's Edge (see the store badge and check it out!)

 (finished inside)

Here are the ingredients:  Stamps - Gina K Designs (One in a Million -sentiment); Stampers Anonymous (Jar - K5 1878); (Inside: Hero Arts sentiment and Happy Birthday: Taylored Expressions - Howdy Partner) Paper: MME - The Sweetest Thing collection of 6x6, Bazzill card stock; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Ink, Dried Marigold around the front sentiment piece; Dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities Hexagons, My Favorite Things: Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics; Ribbon: Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient kit; Copics: G000, G00, BG0000, BG000, BG11, Y21; Provocraft Cuttlebug, Ranger blending tool, dimensionals.

So glad that I have a strong foundation in my Lord Jesus Christ, therefore as I keep my eyes focused on Him, I am not shaken even in the midst of the trials ahead that face our country.  When the leadership (both govt. and church) begins to call good evil and evil good, all I can think is woe unto us as a nation we are being destroyed from the inside. God please help us.

The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped.  Therefore my heart rejoices, and I praise Him with my song.  Psalm 28:7

Christmas Gift Tags

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Here are some Christmas tags that I made for one of my sisters.  I have two sisters and a sister-in-law who celebrate birthdays in early November so I thought it would be fun to make them some gift tags.
I've just want to share a little bit about the tags (Paper Accents).  First, they all have been sprayed with Ranger Dylusion Spray Ink.  After that, I've stamped (Memento & Distress Inks), Stickled, Glimmer Glam'd, added Liquid Pearls, punched stars and scallop circles (Marvy Uchida) and used diecut shapes from: Taylored Expressions, My Favorite Things, Cottage Cutz, Spellbinders, Tim Holtz Alterations, and then added American Craft ribbon or Darice Natural Hemp cording and Fabric tape.  My Cuttlebug was a real trooper through all this! :-)

Stamps used on these four tags: Taylored Expressions Stamps - Tag... You're It!, Cozy Cabin, Woodland Winter; Dylusions Stamps: Christmas Backgrounds

Stamps used for these 3 tags: Taylored Expressions Stamps - Woodland Winter, Tag...You're It!, and Wreaths of Joy; Stamper's Anonymous Stamps - Mixed Media; Dylusions - Inbetweenies, and then Colored with Copic Markers and Distress Marker (Picket Fence)

Stamps used on these last two tags are from Dylusions (How does Your Garden Grow) and Taylored Expressions Tag...You're it!.  The flower is a die (Alterations Movers and Shakers mini Tattered floral), the Holly is from Cottage Cutz, and "label" is Taylored Expressions (In the Bag), the Fishtail Flag STAX is a My Favorite Things Die-namics.
YOU CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW MY TABLE LOOKED ONCE I FINISHED THESE AND TO TELL THE TRUTH, IT IS STILL A MESS!  I KNOW YOU CAN RELATE!!!

Thanks so much for looking! If you have a question about an item I've used please don't hesitate to ask me.  This post has been in my draft for almost a week due to my crazy schedule of late AND due to the fact I had to figure out what I had used!  Now I'm off to finish making the other sets that I have started.

The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my slavation, my stronghold.   Psalm 18:2

Thoughts and many prayers to my blogger friends and family that have been affected by the hurricane on the East coast.

In Everything Give Thanks - Stamp 'n Send challenge and WAW #51

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Hope you are enjoying your day!  We've had a definite swing in the weather and it's turned very cold.  Not the norm for us, usually October is still very warm, but today we can see the snow up on the mountain and there is a definite chill in the air!  A wonderful day to stay indoors and craft away!! Which as soon as I finish this post, that is my plan!
Here is the inspiration photo and colors for my card which is the third challenge  for the Taylored Expressions Stamp 'n Send event that has been ongoing since World Cardmaking Day.  You can find this weeks challenge info at Splitcoast Stampers TE forum HERE.

I have a friend I will be sending this to, she is also a pastor's wife and is always encouraging me, so now it's my turn to give some encouragement.  I will be sharing this at Word Art Wednesday challenge #51 (Anything Goes), also!

Here is the list of the ingredients:Stamp: Taylored Expressions - Cozy Cabin set; Paper: Simple Stories Harvest Lane, Bazzill Card Stock, Ribbon (Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient Kit Oct 2012); Button (Key Ingredient Kit Sept. 2012); Copics: E19, E33, E25, E39, E57, E79, E89; Y00, Y11, W0, W5, R37, R38.

I've been really enjoying the Jennifer Rothchild Bible study called Missing Pieces.  Todays lesson was on how we react when God doesn't answer our prayer according to our will or desire.  Very thought provoking and convicting. I am so thankful today that I can trust God's Word to be true and sure and is a firm foundation.   Even more importantly I can have faith in God and know that He indeed knows what's best for me and even if the answer is no or wait, I can trust Him.  God is faithful.

But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. 2 Peter 1:20-21

Thanks for visiting!!

Pumpkin Patch -Digital Scrapbook layouts, too!

Hello Delightful friends and family,
Well you must know that I've got to show off the grandkids ever so often.  Today we had an adventure at the pumpkin patch so here are just a few (considering I took about 175 pictures!) of the photos I took today.  Let me tell you they were not very cooperative so I had to be a bit sneaky and take them from afar!

Princess Tucker found a big one! (I did a couple of digi layouts of her at the end of this post!)

Prince Jakob (aka Hawk - he watched the Avengers with his dad the other night) was intrigued by the white pumpkins.

He and Princess Riley had to examine them a little closer.

Princess Addy-tude frowned all day at me when she caught me pointing the camera her way!

Princess Riley posed for me! (finally some cooperation from one of the girls!)

Princess Tucker jumping off the hay bales into Poppa's arms.

I've used digi supplies from Shabby Princess and Publisher 10 to do the layouts.  They are pretty simple if I compare them to what I see around blogland but that's okay.  I have 4 kiddos I'm scrappin' for so sometimes less is more for me, kwim?!

Well, thanks for visiting!  Enjoy the rest of the weekend, I'm off to my craft table to get busy with some projects I've started.

And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.  Colossians 3:17
