Flower Pail - 30 Day Coloring Challenge

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
I've been enjoying this very warm day but managed to get some coloring in and a card put together before it got too late in the day!  It's going to be a busy Saturday with a ministry breakfast in the morning, Addy's skating party in the afternoon and then getting ready for Sunday services in the evening!  Jake and Addy are here today and I had to put my foot down with the Lego video game and get them outside to play. Mimi (my daughter Amy) is on her way over to play a little homerun derby with them with the wiffle ball & bat, that's a throw back from when my 3 kids were all still living at home! Our backyard was THE place to be when they were growing up.

In the meantime, here is my card that I will be linking at the 30 Day Coloring challenge blog.

This was a lot of coloring as a matter of fact it took me two days to finish.  I thought I might use this stamp to try the no line coloring... guess again! I got about halfway through and decided I needed a much simpler image to begin with.  Mercy!  I gave that half colored image to 6 year old Addy so that she could finish it for me, which she did quite nicely!
So I used a lot of Copics to color this baby and I took advantage of the Hex Chart from Sandy Allnock, it was extremely helpful to pick out colors and they blended so well! And I experimented with a lot of them on this card.  Thank you, Sandy!  I'm learning not to be afraid of those darker colors to give more and better contrast :-)

Stamp: CC Designs - Flower Pail (Dove Art Studios)

Red White and Blue - Word Art Wednesday #189

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Thanks so much for stopping by today.  My card today is for the Word Art Wednesday Challenge. Our challenge is always Anything Goes - Family Friendly!  We have some wonderful sponsors so be sure and check out the challenge blog and I hope you will play along with us!
I really enjoyed playing with the red, white and blue theme. Just in time for the 4th of July.  What a fantastic Scripture (Psalm 85:9) that was given to the DT to use.  Hope you will read it and really think about what is being said.  Just think if we would truly fear the Lord... so many blessings would be restored to our land. Right now we are in a terrible state, God forgive us for neglecting You.

Here are the ingredients to this card:
Base: Neenah Bright white card stock
Other card stock (red/navy) Bazzill
Paper Accents white Vellum
Designer Paper: Patriotic Parade
EK Success star punch
Fabric Tape, red gingham
Inksessentials opaque white pen
Cuttlebug Stars Embossing Folder
Spellbinder Nestabilities Die
White seam binding (bow)

Distress Inked Himalayan Poppy - 30 Day color challenge

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
So glad you came by today!  Here is another card I've made using the Himalayan Poppy stamp.  This time I've used Distress Inks and a Ranger waterbrush to color.  I've kept it sentiment free so that I can add it later depending on the occasion.  I've used some of my hoarded Stella Rose (MME) paper.  I've embossed with Versamark Ink and Ranger White embossing powder (just like the last poppy I colored).  I've used the Ranger watercolor paper (I LOVE IT) and the Ranger Distress Inks are Mermaid Lagoon, Peeled Paint, Pine Needles (very sparingly to add shadows), and Mustard Seed.

Thanks so much for visiting!
I will be sharing this card at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge (Use Your Favorite Technique and/or Product. I will also link up at the 30 Day Coloring challenge blog.

Planted by the Waters - WAW #188

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Wow, summer is upon us, graduations are behind us, it's been a busy time and I'm looking forward to the lazy days of summer (yeah, right?!) in my dreams anyway!! I love the Scripture this week from Jeremiah 17:8 it reminds me of Psalm 1 (I'll share it at the end of the post).  Hope you can join us and share your art with us at Word Art Wednesday (Anything Goes - Family Friendly)

Here are the details to my card:
The stencil I used is a Wendy Vecchi Studio 490 called Layered Tree and I've used Liquitex molding paste colored with Peeled Paint and Frayed Burlap (Distress Inks).  I sprinkled the wet paste with clear embossing powder and when it dried I then used the heat gun to melt the embossing powder.  (I think I saw this tutorial on Jennifer McGuire's blog). I fussy cut the tree and set it aside, then with the Stitched Hillside Borders (Lawn Fawn) I diecut the card stock and made the scene on the Neenah Desert Storm card base.  The Word Art was printed on vellum.

Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.  Psalm 1:1-3

A Blessing card - 30 Day Color Challenge

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
Hope your Monday is starting out well!  I have been trying to color everyday, (30 Day Color challenge) even if it's just a little.   Today I'm sharing a card I colored on Saturday night and yesterday was too busy to get it posted.  I've actually colored this image twice, the one shown is colored with Copic Markers.  If I can I will post the second one I colored using Distress Inks and Markers later this evening.

This is a Himalayan Poppy designed by Jennifer Dove  (C C Designs).  I live in California and usually see our state flower in the orange and red tones so this was new to me.  But since blue is my fav color I really enjoyed coloring this image.  I've added a Paper Smooches sentiment and matted this in green and dark blue card stock.  The white base and top layer is Neenah bright white 80lb c/s.   I stamped the image with Versamark and then used white embossing powder which was a challenge coloring with white lines on white c/s.

Thanks for visiting!! I will be sharing this at the following challenge sites:

CASE'd Nautical Card - 30 Day Coloring Challenge

Hello Delightful friends and family!

Here is a card I colored for a co-worker (Happy Belated to Andy!) and it was CASE'd from this card HERE by Wanda Guess (one of my very favorite crafty gals!) I have to say my card is a simple version of the original.  Here is the LINK to Wanda's blog.  Go get inspired!

My stripes go the opposite direction than Wanda's but I've used the same technique with  Distress Paint (Broken China) and I used my washi tape to line out the stripes before using the paint.  The sentiment is from MFT and the Mini Blueprints Strip Mariner by Tim Holtz were colored with Copics, I've added a small piece of burlap and hemp beneath the anchor and captain's helm that I've fussy cut out and layered.  The banner flag is from AveryElle and I've used an EK Success star punch to embellish. I've used Antique Linen to distress the edges of the striped layer.

I will be sharing this card at 30 Day Color Challenge and Cardz 4 Guyz  #74(texture)

Thanks for looking and have a great Friday!

Happy Birthday Princess Addy - 30 Day Color Challenge

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Hope all is well on this beautiful Thursday!  Today is my granddaughter Princess Addy's 6th birthday!  It is also the last day of school so that means she will be entering 1st grade in the fall.  Wow, where has the time flown.
I'll be sharing her birthday card that I finished last night - Addy is my little artist, she loves getting to choose from some of the digis I've printed out and color them right along side me with her color pencils.  She asked me yesterday if I would be coloring a "cute" girl for her birthday card!  She knows me well...

I've colored "Marci" (LaLa Land Crafts) with my Copic Markers.  She was stamped on Neenah bright white c/s and the fence was punched with the Martha Stewart fence border punch on the Neenah.  The grass is a stamp from Lawn Fawn and I've added tiny flowers from an AveryElle stamp.  Happy Birthday sentiment is a Penny Black stamp (wow, I'm really an equal opportunity stamper, lol).  I've added Wink of Stella Clear on her hair bows but it doesn't show in the photo. Inks I've used are Memento Tuxedo black, Ranger Dye Ink (/Wild Orchid and Grape Soda); Archival Ink: Magenta; Distress Marker (Picked Raspberry) faux stitching.  I just love the pattern paper from Echo Park (Bundle of Joy) and the green c/s is Bazzill. My tiny butterfly is a punch from EK Success and I had some leftover scraps from a watercolor project that I used, I added Liquid Pearls for dimension.

Here is Addy playing first base at last weekends end of the season softball tournament for the 8 and under age group. She did great and even fielded a grounder and made the put out at first.

Here we are with big brother Jake after church.

I will be sharing this card at Seize the Birthday (Topping - Animals) I hope a butterfly will qualify as an "animal" :-) and at the 30 Day Color Challenge Blog.
Thanks for visiting!

Scribbly flowers - 30 Day Coloring Challenge

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Have you been inspired by the 30 Day Color Challenge for June?  I know I have!  Finding time to post them on my blog has been another story though!

I've been having fun being inspired by all the incredible artwork being shared HERE.  This is one  I would like to share using Distress inks (Festive Berries, Picked Raspberry, Peeled Paint, Pine Needles and Stormy Sky), a waterbrush and Ranger watercolor paper.  The stamp is from the Dina Wakley Media line called Scribbly Flowers the word die is from a stamp and die set from Hero Arts called Congrats.  I've masked the flower to arrange along the left side of the paper.   I've added vellum under the word diecut, lastly I've added Liquid Pearls to the center of flowers for dimension.

Hope you'll be inspired to color and thanks for visiting!  I hope to share a card tomorrow I colored for my granddaughter Addy's birthday.  Just need to get it put together for "show and tell" so until then....

Father's Day - Walking in Integrity

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
We are having some wonderful weather here in my neck of the woods!  It's a good thing with all the outdoor graduations coming up in the next few days. The grandkids are looking forward to their summer vacation and spending time with Grammie and Poppa! I keep getting requests for an overnight stay which I've been putting off until school got out.  This week however I will be dog-sitting for both my daughter's dogs (Ruby a Golden Retriever and Bella a Boxer), this is going to be an interesting few days! It may inspire me to make a dog-themed card ;-)

Here is my card for Word Art Wednesday #187 it features Proverbs 20:7 which is a perfect Scripture to celebrate Father's Day.  I will be giving this to my husband and even though he is not my dad, he is the daddy of our 3 children and a man who walks in integrity.  I'm so thankful for the example he sets for our family and our church family.
Hope you will join us over at the Word Art Wednesday Challenge blog - it's a great place to share your family friendly cards, mixed media, scrapbook pages, etc.  Plus every week there is a prize or two and usually MORE to win!  Thanks to all of our wonderful sponsors.

Also featured in this card is the Taylored Expressions Dies - Birch Tree Cutting Plate and Birch Tree Accessories.  I've used Neenah white card stock in the background.  The Distress Inks I've used are Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Chipped Sapphire, Frayed Burlap and Peeled Paint.  Other papers used are Desert Storm and dark brown card stock.

Thanks for visiting and have a great week!

The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.  Psalm 145:8
