Bikes, Baskets of Flowers and Brads...

That is a crazy title you are probably thinking and what do they have in common? Well, with May just around the corner I think it's perfect for the challenges I'm participating in today. The month of May is the beginning of better weather for bike riding and beautiful flowers are "springing" up everywhere! This card I thought would work well for the Kraft Journal May Day Challenge #16 : biking and flowers the perfect combo, right? :-) (unless you have allergies - oops!!)
The brads are on the card for the Tuesday Throwdown blog challenge and this is my first time to visit and participate!

I've been itchin' to use this bicycle stamp from Unity Stamp Co. (Basketful of Wishes, Itty Bitty - Jilly Bean) and I combined it with the Taylored Expressions It's a Banner Day 1 for the sentiment and the TE Banner die and Medium Scallop Border die. LOVE this cute paper by Three Bugs in a Rug (Chloe line) and I've colored the image with my Copic Markers : E25, E31, V12, Y08, Y17, YG23. The card stock is Bazzill. I've accented the flowers with Smooch, Sassy Pink and Ranger Liquid Pearls, Buttercup and Petal Pink. Memento, Rich Cocoa was used to stamp the image and sentiment. The ribbon is by American Crafts and the BRADS are by Making Memories. Last but not least the fun Spellbinder Nestabilities are Reverse Wonky Rectangles

Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you find the weather suitable for biking and smelling the spring flowers!! Have a great weekend!!

Our Daily Bread Design's Shine the Light challenge #58

Hello Delightful friends and family!

It's been ages since I've played along in an Our Daily Bread Designs challenge. But I thought I'd give it a go, the Design Team over there is fabulous and so I'm a little intimidated by all the talent over there but I couldn't pass up this fun sketch! The ladies that I'm acquainted with are such sweeties, so when I say I'm a bit intimidated that's totally my insecurities and not a reflection on them whatsoever! It is absolutely a wonderful blessing to have them as a partnering company at Christian Paper Crafts!!

I'm still in the "Mother's Day" mode when making cards so that's my theme with this card as well. Although the inside (so far) is blank, so it could be a card of encouragment for a friend.

(ODBDSLC#58) The stamp is from a set called Scripture Collection 4 (Our Daily Bread Designs) and I've used the Spellbinders Nestabilites Wonky Reverse Rectangles and I've sponged first with Distress Ink, Antique Linen and then used the Worn Lipstick (keeping the die in place), then removing the die, I've inked the edges with the Worn Lipstick. The verse was stamped with Palette, black ink. Before adhering everything together I machine stitched around the three main pieces (the matted designer paper).

I thought the gingham checked ribbon looked so cute with the floral paper by The Girl's Paperie (Kitch line). The ribbon and flower are from the Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient kit.

There are lots of layers to this card. The base is Choice Buttercream, next is Petunia (cut 1/8" smaller), then the designer paper 1/8" smaller than the pink Petunia. All of the card stock is Bazzill brand. The Sunbean (yellow c/s) is used to mat the smaller rectangles and is also the paper used to punch out the Photo Corner Scallop by EK Success. All of the Designer paper has been inked around the edges with Distress Ink, Worn Lipstick, also the photo corner has been inked although the picture doesn't show it. The verse has been popped up using dimensionals.

Thanks for looking and God bless you this week!! Looking forward to your delightful comments!!

Fun on Friday (Layers) "Joy"

(This is my second post today, if you are looking for the Blog Hop for Christian Paper Crafts scroll down!)

Thanks for visiting!! This evening I'm sharing a card I did for the Fun on Friday #102 at Christian Paper Crafts. It's all about layers. The challenge hostesses Jonia and Robyn challenged us to "Put some layers on our project to reflect the depth of God's mighty love" so that's what I've done with this. The verse that came to mind as I was putting this card together is from John 15:11 "These things I have spoken to you, that my joy remain in you, and that your joy may be full."

This stamp is from Taylored Expressions (Christmas Blessing) but joy is something that is available all year round!! Isn't that a pretty font.

Here is a close up of all those layers!! Base + white + green + stamped image on white + white + stamped image on teal/aqua (not sure of the real name but the colored card stocks are all Bazzill). The stamped background is from Taylored Expressions called Miniature Motifs and the Diamond/script stamp is from Technique Tuesday (sorry I'm not sure of the set.) Ribbon is American Crafts. The ink I've used is Memento Pear Tart. Lots of layers but a very easy card! (I probably will add some adhesive pearls to the top corner that is kinda naked but I didn't want to take the time to retake the pics!! Sorry!)

Thanks again for visiting and I pray you have a blessed Resurrection Sunday and may you find the joy of the Lord through the hope we have in Jesus Christ!

Instructions:
Cut green base A2; Cut lavender card stock 1/8" smaller than base. Emboss with Cuttlebug folder. Use Spellbinders Nestie Standard Circle to make frame, using Distress Ink, Vintage Photo sponge around the edges. Using a piece of scrap paper duplicate the frame and use as a template for sponging color on a piece of white card stock that has been cut 1/4" smaller than the lavender card stock. I used Distress Inks: Antique Linen, Worn Lipstick and Peeled Paint. Stamp image over the blended ink (Taylored Expressions - Summer Afternoon set) with black ink (Palette). Adhere to the lavender cardstock and make sure the image is centered. Adhere to the base. Add pink tulle ribbon. Congrats to CPC's 100th CASE Challenge!

Hello Delightful friends and family!!
Congratulations to Christian Paper Crafts!! We had our 100th CASE challenge called Wednesday Case Artist (yes, I'm a day late with the congrats but I was so happy to see that we are case-ing Angela Coles from Toucan Scraps! She is such a delight to have on the design team and has a wonderful digi store so be sure and check out the Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog for all the details!

This sunflower stamp is from Hero Arts and I'm sure that it has been retired for a loooong time, I've stamped twice and colored both, then cut out the second flower and used dimensionals to pop it up! The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions (Care & Comfort set). I've stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and then colored with Copics (YR23, Y08,Y17, E25, E37) I've used Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam (Espresso Bean) for the center of the flower for a little shine.
Bazzill card stock (not sure of the names of the c/s but they are a gold, yellow and green) and the white card stock is from the lss and I'm not sure the brand but I believe it's 100lb c/s, great for stamping and using the Copic markers. To embellish I used 4 medium adhesive pearls from my stash.

Inside of the card:
I stamped off using the sunflower stamp and Distress Ink, Antique Linen, then stamped the sentiment (Taylored Expressions - Care & Comfort set) with the Memento, Rich Cocoa.

I like the clean and simple design and I kept true to Angela's, although the stamp is quite different and the colors aren't exact. Thanks for letting me share with you!

Friday is a fun member blog hop at the Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog! Hope you'll join us!!

Have a wonderful day and God bless.

Blast From the Past!!

Welcome to the Blast From the Past customer Blog Hop featuring our favorite Taylored Expressions stamps released prior to February 2011!
This month there was a bit of a twist to the hop and it was suggested to make a CAS card (lots of white space and little if any layering). That is so not me!! So this definitely was a challenge! For a bit of inspiration we were also given a fantastic sketch designed by Sankari Wegman. My first card was inspired by the sketch and I took a few liberties. It's simple but not CAS! (ha!)

Stamp Set: CreativiTea

Ta-Da! Here is my Clean And Simple card, hope you like it!

I've used the stamp set called Make A Wish.

Ingredients for card #1 Designer paper: Basic Grey (Kioshi); Bazzill card stock and Neenah bright white. If you are interested in joining the "fellowship" be sure and come and visit starting on April 20th we will be offering free membership!!

Here is my card to share and tell me, don't you think this is the cutest stamp?!! I couldn't hardly wait to ink it up. My niece gave me this darling stamp set from My Favorite Things and this is Emma Playing Mommy! Did you ever play dress up? I have some fun photos when I was a little girl playing dress up! I paper pieced her dress with the coordinating designer paper from Three Bugs in A Rug (Chloe line) Isn't it adorable??!! It's like play paper dolls! I did a little bit of sewing around the edges to add a little texture and interest, the card stock base is Bazzill and the limey green card stock is from DCWV Pastel Stack. I colored Emma with Copic markers after stamping her with Memento, rich cocoa (and the sentiment). Her hot pink shoes were colored with Smooch, Sassy Pink acrylic accent paint and her necklace is coordinated with the same acrylic paint.

Distress Ink, Worn lipstick and the Ranger Blending tool was used to blend around the edges of the Take Note Three die (Taylored Expressions) and I used an EK Success scallop border punch on the limey green card stock for a decorative edge. Last but not least I used the Tiny Twinkles (Taylored Expressions) to Emma's hair for a bit of dressed up bling! (see the first picture)

Thanks for looking and hope you will go over and visit and join us at Christian Paper Crafts!

Don't forget the free membership offered from April 20th - 27th.

Thanks for leaving a delightful comment and God bless!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Hello dear friends and family! Just a quick post before going to work but I wanted to be sure and wish my mom a very Happy Birthday! My girls and I will be taking her out to dinner tonight. All I can say is that she better not be dressed up like a pirate like she did at the last birthday party!! Ok, it was her great grandson Jakob's birthday so we will let it pass....

Hard to believe she's 73!

Mmmm.... I think she likes to dress up!

This was her 70th birthday we had a tea party! She wears her title "Queen Mother" well! Love ya, Mom!!

Thinking of You ( 3 challenges)

Welcome delightful friends and family! It is officially the weekend (well almost, it's not quite 5p.m.)! Hope you have some fun plans, I have to work on Saturday and it's my dh's birthday (boo-hoo!) but I'll get off an hour early and I hope to pick something up for him then. I need to get him a new electric razor. He's on aspirin therapy and agressive meds to keep his blood thin, so those stents they just put in will stay open and heal! So, no more sharp blades on his face and neck or he'll never stop bleeding!!

Today's card is a little bit of a stretch for me. I do not usually do the vintage/shabby chic (as much as I love the style, it's out of my comfort zone!) But this Bo Bunny paper (Gabrielle Collection) did most of the work for me (whew!). I added the flowers (Glimmer Misted them with Marshmallow) and layered them, with a little tail of silver ribbon from American Crafts; I love this "Elegant Swirls die" (Sizzix - Tim Holtz Alterations), and it's hard to tell in the photo, but I applied Ranger Stickles (Gunmetal) and after that dried, I added Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (Marshmallow) to the kraft card stock (all card stock is Bazzill), if you are interested in seeing the shimmer, you'll have to click to enlarge. I also used just a little bit of Ranger Perfect Pearls (pearl) to the butterflies wings (just a dusting) and Tiny Twinkles (Taylored Expressions) to the butterfly bodies as well as the around the Swirl. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions (Care & Comfort set) and the ink is Palette black, also used around the sentiment. The other bling comes from my stash (brad and adhesive rhinestones) The finished card is A2.

This card qualifies for 3 challenges:

Christian Paper Crafts - Bible Verse Thursday (something from the heart) verse inside is Psalm 37:4 which happens to be my siggie verse! (Verve - Plain Jane)

Play Date Cafe color challenge #75 (see colors below)

And a new challenge blog and my first time playing:

The Kraft Journal - Challenge #12 use flowers and kraft paper on your creation or something from their store Kraft Outlet.

Thanks for visiting and I love reading your delightful comments!!
