Spring Green!

Welcome to all my Delightful friends and family,

Hooray, it's Friday! I thought it would be my day off but it's going to get really busy this afternoon as I look at my "to do" list! Bummer!! Oh well, such is the life in the Houston home.

BLDC9 and WMC47

I have been wanting to color this sweet little image for a while now! Isn't she a cutie and her little dog is quite the character too! Both images and the sentiment are digis from By LORi Designs. You can see another recent card (a couple of posts ago) I did featuring the kitty in the wagon that I digitally manipulated to make one image. Here I cut out the pup and used dimensionals to "pop the pup out." (Try saying that fast!!)

This card meets two challenges and both are a first for me to play along.

The first is a color challenge at the By LORi Designs Challenge blog (LOVE her adorable images!)

The second one is using "green" or "spring" in your card from Wee Memories (A cute new site I just discovered from my friend, Brenda. Can't wait to explore it a little more!)

Here are the ingredients: Digi Stamps: By LORi Designs; Colored by Copic Markers; Designer Paper: DCWV; Card Stock: Bazzill and Neenah; Crepe Paper Lace Stickers - Little Yellow Bicycle (Twig); Tiny Twinkles - Taylored Expressions (on the belt and shoes) Buttons: Foofala Bag 'O Buttons. Sewing machine (Kenmore) to zig zag stitch the layers together. Finished card is 4.25 x 5.5
Thanks for looking and leaving a delightful comment now I'm off to do my errands and finish getting my tax stuff collected and then.... like I said it's going to be a busy day!!
Have a fantastic weekend!!

An Irish Prayer and so much more...

Happy Thursday and a delightful St. Patrick's Day to you all!

Thought for the Day:
There are only three kinds of Irish men who can't understand women— young men, old men, and men of middle age. (Now that's a bit of truth if I ev'r heard one!)

I know it's hard to believe it, two days in a row to share a card!! I have another milestone to share with you all from Christian Paper Crafts, we are having our 100 Color challenge this week and it's a testament to all of our designers as well as our community that we've all supported each other long enough to get here! And since we are celebrating, we're going to give away a little something special to one lucky participant for this challenge. You have until next Sunday night, March 20th, at 6:00 PM EST to upload a card or add your direct link here. There will be a random winner chosen, who will receive something special from us at Christian Paper Crafts ! In two more weeks we will be celebrating the 100th Bible Verse Thursday challenge so be sure to stay tuned to see what Angie will have for us over at the Creative Blog.

This is our inspiration piece from Mary so have fun chosing your colors from this picture and don't forget to head over to the Creative Blog and upload your picture!

Here is my card and 3 challenges! Of course it's the color challenge but I've also included this weeks Bible Verse Thursday#98 (Heaven & Earth verse) and Gloria's sketch #99 (which I missed last week due to other committments!)

CPC CM100; CPC BVT98; CPC ST99

An Irish Prayer
May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends, A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

My corn beef and cabbage are in the crockpot and my darlin' Irish hubby will be a very happy man when dinner is served!

100 Sketches!!

Hello Delightful friends and family!!

This week we are celebrating 100 sketches and 100 Color challenges at Christian Paper Crafts!! You will definitely want to head over to the Creative Blog and see how you can win a prize for commenting! Easy peasy!

Here is the sketch by Gloria Stengel! We are so proud of Gloria, she is now on the Spellbinders Design Team!! God bless you, Gloria! Continue to let your light shine!

Here is my card and as usual I'm taking some creative liberties. I know Gloria embraces creative liberties (tee-hee!!) and since there are no challenge police at CPC, I know I'm okay ;-)

CPC ST 100 (digi is a ByLoriDesign image)

I'm calling this card "Hitching a Ride" but haven't decided whether to make it a "hello, birthday, thank you" or just leave blank... love for you to make a suggestion to help me out so I can finish it!

Here are the details: For the image I used Publisher to resize our girl and wagon and then resized the Kitty (separate image) and placed it in the wagon. I'm getting rather fond of playing around with these! Then I printed it out on Neenah bright white cardstock. I colored it with my Copic markers and I'm sorry I didn't get the ones I used written down before putting them away! (oops!) I double matted the image with Bazzill card stock, then stitched in the corner and added red buttons for the wheels.

For the base I used white, then blue, then a red card stock all Bazzill. The designer paper is from the Green Stack (DCWV) and I stitched them all together using a zig zag stitch around the edge (you have to look close the thread is an off white and hard to see). A coordinating dp (DCWV - Green Stack) was used for the middle strip and I matted it in red then hand stitched in red embroidery floss (Making Memories) I used the We R Memory Keepers SEWeasy (straight stitch) paper piercer to get the nice even holes to stitch. The ribbon (Taylored Expressions) accent at the bottom was adhered and a flower button added.

Thanks for looking and hope you'll leave a delightful comment!!

God bless and remember to rejoice in the Lord always!!

Going Green - Taylored Expression's Blast From the Past Blog Hop

Hello Delightful Hoppers!!

Welcome to this months Blast From the Past featuring Taylored Expressions stamps released prior to December 2010. We had the choice of choosing to use the color green in our project or "Go Green" and incorporate a recycled element into our creation. I chose both!

Here is the sketch we were given for inspiration.

The Designer Paper I've chosen is from DCWV and it's the Green Stack which is 70% recycled paper, the "ribbon" I've used is actually paper repurposed from the packaging from a Sizzix embossing folder, how's that for going green!!

The stamp set featured is one I had been wanting since it's release called "Summer Afternoon" the sentiment is from "Care and Concern"

Here are the other ingredients: Inks: Memento, Pear tart and Rich cocoa; Distress Inks, Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap; Card Stock: Bazzill and Neenah, natural; Tools: Cuttlebug; Spellbinders Nestabilities Scallop Circle; Sizzix Wood Grain Embossing Folder. Buttons from my stash.

Note: I loved this wood grained paper and ran it through the Cuttlebug using the Sizzix Wood-grain EF then "stained" it with Distress Ink, (Frayed burlap) to give the wood grain a little more definition.

Thanks so much for looking and I'm sure you are enjoying all the creations along the way!! I look forward to your delightful comment and I pray your day will be blessed!

I paper pieced the center of the stamped flower by Taylored Expressions and did a bit of fussy cutting and adhered it to the blue wood grained paper (also DCWV) with dimensionals. This was a very simple design and very quick to put together even with the stitching! (A2 sized card)

Stamp: Taylored Expressions, Much Appreciated
