We have been through a very difficult season here in the States with this election . When I began my devotional time in God's Word this morning I prayed He would speak to me and I opened the Bible to Jeremiah 18 and read the first ten verses and I would like to share them with you today.
"The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying:
“Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause you to hear My words.” Then I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was, making something at the wheel. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make. Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying:
“O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the LORD. “Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel! “The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it,
“if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it. “And the instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it,“if it does evil in My sight so that it does not obey My voice, then I will relent concerning the good with which I said I would benefit it.
I believe we've been given an opportunity to do what's right and good in God's sight with the right leadership in our government. There is so much corruption in our political parties. Catering to special interest groups, greed and moral decay is the norm and it needs to be turned around. Prayer, repentance and being led by the Lord is what will change the heart of people and bring healing to our land. If we don't, well I don't even want to think about that. Lord Jesus please help us!
Hope you have a blessed day and thanks for visiting!
Amen!! The Lord has indeed been merciful, performed a miracle, and given us the opportunity to turn from our wicked ways! Please Lord turn us back to Yourself and place us on the right path!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. Wonderful scripture! God again has given America a reprieve, but if she continues to walk away from Him she will end up as Judah did as recorded in the book of Jeremiah. We can't stop praying now. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteA great reminder, Marilyn .... we can't stop praying now!
DeleteNot only is your card really beautiful, but also are your wise words. Thanks for sharing the scripture from Jeremiah. I truly hope we don't let this opportunity to repent and change slip by us. I feel that we are being another chance to get it right. Thanks for sharing.
