Hope everyone is doing well. We are preparing for our family Thanksgiving, a couple of my granddaughters will be coming over and we are going to do some baking and crafting! Actually our church family already started last week with a Community Thanksgiving Dinner with all the "trimmings" for our town. This outreach was started about 20 years ago serving and providing this free of charge for our community, we served over 250 people this year. Lots of work but well worth it to get to know people in our town plus share the love of Jesus Christ with many who attend.
I know it's a busy busy time for people including myself but it's always fun to share a card with Word Art Wednesday. It blows me away that we have so many wonderful entries each time there is a challenge (last challenge there were 324 entries, AMAZING!! - THANK SO MUCH FOR PLAYING ALONG WITH US!!)
Here is my card for the weeks 258 & 259 and our sponsor is Simon Says Stamp!
This is a pretty simple design. I've started out with a white card stock base and then a layer of gold card stock about an 1/8 inch smaller than the base. I printed out the Scripture art and then trimmed it to 4" wide and added a stitched scallop border (Lawn Fawn) to it. On the bottom of the gold c/s I've adhered a piece of pattern paper (Doodle Bug Designs) 4" wide and 3" in length and then popped up the Scripture verse over it. Added some hemp cording and a metal leaf embellishment, then adhered it all to the card base. Easy peasy!
Here is the free Scripture Art provided if you'd like to use it!
A wonderful verse for this week and it begins with the word "Thanks". When we begin to reflect or I guess I should say when I reflect on this verse and begin to thank God for His indescribable gift (NKJV) it takes me back to John 3:16 and how that God gave His only Begotten Son to redeem mankind, to restore our relationship to Him, so that we could have eternal life. His love was so great for His creation that God was willing to give us a gift so indescribable with words, as Paul says to the Corinthians. This gift of salvation through His Son Jesus Christ is so incredible our words are inadequate to describe it. But we certainly can be thankful for it and more importantly believe with all of our heart that Jesus paid the price for this gift with His precious blood and then rose again from the grave to extend that gift to all who believe. Oh my I am so grateful that I too can say thanks be to God for His unspeakable/indescribable gift! Can you? I hope so... To God be all the glory!
Thanks for visiting and Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope we can begin to be thankful again, we have been such a blessed nation. We must begin loving our neighbor again in spite of our differences.
