Going Green - Taylored Expression's Blast From the Past Blog Hop

Hello Delightful Hoppers!!

Welcome to this months Blast From the Past featuring Taylored Expressions stamps released prior to December 2010. We had the choice of choosing to use the color green in our project or "Go Green" and incorporate a recycled element into our creation. I chose both!

Here is the sketch we were given for inspiration.

The Designer Paper I've chosen is from DCWV and it's the Green Stack which is 70% recycled paper, the "ribbon" I've used is actually paper repurposed from the packaging from a Sizzix embossing folder, how's that for going green!!

The stamp set featured is one I had been wanting since it's release called "Summer Afternoon" the sentiment is from "Care and Concern"

Here are the other ingredients: Inks: Memento, Pear tart and Rich cocoa; Distress Inks, Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap; Card Stock: Bazzill and Neenah, natural; Tools: Cuttlebug; Spellbinders Nestabilities Scallop Circle; Sizzix Wood Grain Embossing Folder. Buttons from my stash.

Note: I loved this wood grained paper and ran it through the Cuttlebug using the Sizzix Wood-grain EF then "stained" it with Distress Ink, (Frayed burlap) to give the wood grain a little more definition.

Thanks so much for looking and I'm sure you are enjoying all the creations along the way!! I look forward to your delightful comment and I pray your day will be blessed!

Bible Verse Thursday - Gotta Storm in Your Life?

Happy Thursday (and it's almost the weekend!) to you my delightful friends and family!!

Do you know anyone going through one of those "storms of life" okay maybe I should rephrase that. Do you know anyone who is NOT going through a storm? That's better. I think just about everyone we know can relate. We certainly are not exempt from life's trial and tribulations. I know I certainly don't like going through them, but when we look back, if we are "staying the course" and keeping our spiritual eyes focused on the Lord, we should be able to see ourselves mature in our Christian walk and our faith in Christ grow. If not, then we may have to take the test again.... no thank you! But there is always encouragement in the Word of God, especially in the Book of Psalms. Who better than the psalmist, who certainly had a storm or two or three...or maybe too many to count (!) to share such a wonderful verse which I'm sharing in this card? I hope it helps you to stay focused on our Rock, the Lord Jesus Christ. He certainly is where I get my strength and comfort from!

CPC BVT#94 and CPC CM#96

It is Bible Verse Thursday over at Christian Paper Crafts so be sure and check out the Creative Blog HERE. Angie has another gorgeous card to share with us this week and unbeknowst to me, we used the same verse and the same Color Challenge (CPC CM96) from Mary! Well, the ladies over there said that "great minds think alike" (tee-hee!) when they saw the cards!

The stamp is from OUR DAILY BREAD DESIGNS, they are a Partner Company at Christian Paper Crafts.

Here are the ingredients:
Stamps: ODBD, Scripture collection 4
Paper: Bazzill card stock, Neenah natural cardstock
Ink: Memento, rich cocoa
Embellies: Hemp Cording, Darice; Buttons, my stash probably BoBunny (3 smaller buttons)
Tools: Fiskars Upper Crest border punch; Spellbinders, Nestie - Deckled Rectangle; Cuttlebug, EF, Divine Swirls.

Thanks for looking and I pray your day and days to come will be "storm" free.
God bless and thanks for leaving a delightful comment!

Is it Spring, Yet?

Happy Wednesday to you all!!
I have a fantastic sketch to share with you and the card I was inspired by it. The sketch was created by Gloria Stengel who is on our DT at Christian Paper Crafts. She has a blog that has some serious eye candy especially yesterdays post. If you love Graphic45 paper then you are going to LOVE all her cards, layouts and fabulously fun projects from yesterday!! So be sure to visit her at Scraps of Life. We are praying she makes a second term on the Graphic45 design team!
Speaking of eye candy the Beat the Winter Blues gallery at Christian Paper Crafts features My Time Made Easy has some stunning cards and projects! You can catch a sneak peak here.

Well, it's the middle of the week and there are some fun challenges thoughout the week at Christian Paper Crafts. I encourage you to join us over there and register to become a part of our community. There are 3 membership packages that you can choose from, all of which are very budget friendly. You might consider becoming a fan of our Facebook page, and follow our Creative Blog. It's fun to see how the Lord is helping us to grow and more importantly to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I did take some liberties but here is my card! Just love this paper by My Minds Eye, it's called Fine and Dandy (double-sided too!) cute, cute, cute paper! Is this little sprout just a sweetie pie or what?! She is called Peekaboo Baby and she is part of the Lollipops at By Lori Designs Digi Shop I've just fallen in love with ALL the images!! The sentiment (Spring) is a Pink Paislee stamp that I've stamped with Dried Marigold (Distress Ink), pierced and added a dot of Ranger Liquid Pearls (Flamingo) and did a bit of fussy cutting.

CPC ST96

I've colored the images with Copics and the white you see is Smooch (pearlized acrylic accent paint, Moonlit) I've added the Liquid pearls to the center of the flowers, too.

The inside Scripture is from a set called Rest and Renewal from Taylored Expressions and I've cut it out using the Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 6.

Well, that's it for now! Thanks for looking and may the rest of your week be a blessing!!

Beat the Winter Blues Sneak Peak

Hello to my delightful friends and family!
This month's sponsor over at Christian Paper Crafts is My Time Made Easy

You really have GOT to check them out! My Time Made Easy carries some of the most gorgeous digital papers, oh the colors and patterns are fabulous!! And Lauren carries some wonderful templates for boxes, totes, and lots of packaging ideas, along with digital and acrylic stamps. There are several freebies for you to try out as well....right here
Thank you to owner Lauren Meader who was so generous!!

The "Beat The Winter Blues" Design Team Delights Gallery at Christian Paper Crafts opens up on Tuesday, February 15th, for those who have Super Sister or King's Daughter subscriptions as a thank you for your financial support of our ministry at Christian Paper Crafts. This last week and today, each of our designers has offered a sneak peek of what you will find in the Design Team Delights gallery, and it spotlights our fabulous sponsor, My Time Made Easy. If you would like to find out more about the levels of membership at Christian Paper Crafts, please follow click on this link. Be sure and check out the other sneak peeks on the Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog.

Here is my sneak peak! It really stretched me creatively because I've never made digital cards before and so this months sponsor's products were a real challenge to me. But I'm very happy to report that I learned a lot and had some fun once I got over being intimidated by the newness! No stopping me now!!

Here is a close-up of the digital stamp the flower is two pieces. It really is a fun set of stamps. The program I used to create this card was Microsoft Publisher. The black border was created with the program and I added a pattern to it.

I wanted to showcase the paper pack because all of the papers coordinate so nicely. The set I chose to work with is called Gardening Greats - Nomads Pea Pods. The sentiments are a digital set called Tending the Garden.

Thanks for looking, now I need to get back and finish one more project for the gallery. The Design Team has done a fabulous job, I am so impressed with all the creative projects. Hope you will visit us at Christian Paper Crafts and join the fellowship!

Finishing touches: I added digi pearls (Hero Arts, Sew Crafty) to the top sentiment and then printed out my card and trimmed it to leave a smaller white border, then adhered it to the digi paper (Gardening Greats Green Burlap, which matches the center strip) that I had printed out on a 8.5 by 11 of Neenah card stock.

Thanks a LATTE!

Thanks a latte for coming by my delightful friends and family!

I have a cute little card to share and I've managed to meet two challenges! The first challenge is to paper piece using Cocoa the mouse for the Crazy 4 Cocoa Challenge Blog! Hope you like this one, I enjoy paper piecing so this is fun for me. The second challenge was to use kraft on your card for the That's Kraft Thursday challenge at the Spotted Chick Blog. I love this paper from MME (Fine and Dandy line) we are almost out of it at the store, I may have to grab a couple of extra sheets!

TKT#47, C4C#11

Here's a closer look so you can see I've used the Liquid Pearls (cantaloupe) to embellish. And I did a little bit of stitching around the designer papers. I used 3 different colors of Distress Ink(dried marigold, mustard seed, scattered straw) to blend around the edges of the embossed circle (Nestabilities circle, scallop circle). I used Moonlit Smooch (pearlized accent ink) on the cup lid. The card stock is from Bazzill and Neenah, bright white for stamping the image. The ribbon comes from my Key Ingredients Kit from Taylored Expression. I've colored Cocoa using Copic Markers: C0, C1, C5, R000, R01, RV13. The finished card is 5.5 x 5.5.

Hope you are having a fabulous Thursday, thanks for coming by and remember:

"Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God." Philippians 4:6

Happy Birthday, Sondra!

Hello Delightful friends and family!

Today was Sondra's birthday (my boss) and so I made her a card. Now it's just a little intimidating giving her a handmade card. She owns the local scrapbook store, went to Ranger U, she's Copic certified, and teaches classes on just about everything paper craft related. I take that back, she does not teach the pergamano class! If you are ever in the Humboldt County area (northern Calif.) you should come and visit the store, it's massive and a wonderful place to get your creative juices flowing!

Here is the sketch I started with from Gloria (her blog). Gloria is our Sketch Tuesday hostess at at Christian Paper Crafts

I was hoping to incorporated our Color Monday Challenge but it just didn't happen on this card. I'll post the inspiration picture from Mary at the end of this post, just in case you'd like to play along. I hope you will visit us at the Creative Blog of Christian Paper Crafts. You will find lots of fun challenges and info about an upcoming blog hop!

CPC ST#95 (sorry I got in a hurry and forgot to crop the picture)

Here's a close-up of the sun, I used liquid pearls to embellish!

On this shot you can see, {well just barely} I added some zig zag stitching on the center "band" and then some "faux" stitching on the skirt. I used Smooch pearlized ink to make the stitches and also to color her shoes a snazzy hot pink! Our sweet little girl has been framed by the Labels Six from Spellbinders Nestabilities, embossed and ink blended around the edges while the die was still in place.

CPC-CM#95

Here is the inspiration image for Color Monday at CPC. I'm sorry it's so small, (same with the sketch) I'll have to ask my "tech" girls why it is so copying small and then remedy it!
Here are the details:
Paper: American Crafts, Dear Lizzy (Enchanted - Curious Matilda); Bazzill card stock; Neenah, bright white cardstock for image.
Stamp: Greeting Farms, Hope and Grace
Ink: Memento, rich cocoa; Distress Ink, antique linen, faded lipstick
Ribbon: Taylored Expressions, kit
Last but not least the rest of the ingredients:

Thanks for taking time to look, I hope you are having a blessed week! Tomorrow the grandbabies will be over and then it will be off to the Morning Women's Bible Study. We are studying with the Beth Moore DVD Series "Beloved Disciple."
God bless!

Cup of Tea Anyone?

Hello Delightful friends and family,

SSS#93

Another crazy busy week gone by and I need to sit and have a cup of tea and just take a timeout! And who better to spend time with me but the adorable Cocoa! He is so fun to color and I think coloring with Copics is my therapy that melts the stress away! Of course, I must admit that praying is at the top of the stress reducing remedies so I highly recommend that first and foremost!
Well, I must ask what is your favorite tea? I have many favs but the one at the top of the list is spiced chai by Big Train. It's probably a little sweet for most but something about it just makes me go ahhhhh reeelaaax! It's also wonderful cold with crushed ice and a big dollop of whip cream. Yum! Of course right now I'm all about hot tea, too cold to add any ice! I happen to have a free drink card I need to take advantage of and you guessed it, it will be spiced chai 16 oz. extra hot, nonfat milk and whip cream!! (I know whip cream with the nonfat, why bother!!) You know, I think I'm already starting to relax... ahhhh.
Here's my card which inspired this post! It's another Sweet Stop Sketch and of course Cocoa from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps! I'm too late to post over at the Sweet Stop but couldn't resist sharing this fun creation. Korin the owner of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps which is one of our partnering companies at Christian Paper Crafts and she is a delight, check out her blog at Rejoicing Every Moment.

I'm still a novice at the Copic coloring but they are a lot of fun to work with - makes me feel like an artist (ha!).

Here are the ingredients:

Paper: Basic Grey, Hopscotch; Card Stock, Bazzill and Neenah; Stamp, Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, Ink, Palette black; Ribbon, American Crafts; Button, Making Memories; Copic Markers to color; Distress Ink, Worn Lipstick for blending around image; Spellbinders, Nestabilities Deckled Rectangle.

Thanks for visiting now go grab your favorite cup of tea!
