I love a Color Challenge!

I love color challenges just as much as I love sketch challenges but lately it seems that I've been participating in more of the color challenges! What can I say I love COLOR!! Loved it when I was decorating homes and I love the combinations and the way they inspire the design of a card.

Jen (aka Miss Boo at SCS) has a great color challenge to start the week off at CHRISTIAN PAPER CRAFTS. Warm summer colors of red, orange and neutrals are the challenge (blue and green are acceptable in this challenge as you can see if you head over to CPC and read the "fine print"). In addition to CPC's Color Monday I've been able to incorporate it with the PLAY DATE CAFE color challenge and as you can see by the photo they are some wonderful colors to work with and what a great pic for inspiration! All the design paper used in the following two cards is from the DCWV "Cafe Mediterranean" line.

CPC-CM62 and PDCC35

More details:

Sentiment stamp is a clear stamp by Autumn Leaves "All Occasion Word Art" with the "Label" stamp from Taylored Expressions "CreativiTea" the border punch is made by Fiskars, the adhesive pearls from Kaiser and I colored them with a Copic Marker E79, cashew. Red cardstock is Bazzill

Close up of the paper piecing of the butterfly and the Adirondack Dimensional pearls (Expresso) The stamp is from Hero Arts and I stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa.

My next card is inspired by the CAS-tastic Wednesday Challenge. Blue, Yellow and a Neutral.

CWC009

Stamp is from Gina K Designs "Botanicals" and the ink is Palette, black. Kraft cardstock is Bazzill. Nestabilities Labels 9 (diecut and embossing), Fiskars border punch and Corner rounder from EK Success were the tools used and three small adhesive pearls from Kaiser finish this CAS card.

Clean and Simple Style but BOLD!

(stvinspbt2)

Just a real quick post this evening!
Here are a couple of CAS cards inspired by Brenda's Inspiration challenge at StampTV. I'm a couple of weeks behind but I still wanted to share them! I've used the new stamp set from Gina K Designs called Botanicals (I really love it and I won it!!). The patterned paper is from Bella Blvd and the cardstock is from Bazzill. The greenish cardstock I think is called Sour Apple or Sour Green Apple (not sure exactly). Doesn't that make you pucker thinking about it though!!
The tools I've used are the Marvy Uchida scallop oval punch, EK Success border punch and the Nestabilies Label 9. Ink is Palette black. Pretty simple design and lots of possibilities with it.
Thanks for looking and I hope you are inspired to do a CAS card and use some bold summer colors!

Have a wonderful evening and thanks for stopping by!

Let the Sun Shine, let the Sun Shine in...

Hello Delightful friends and family!

We are on day two of sunshine here in northern California (the real northern California, I have to add!) We are six hours north of San Francisco and still in California.... can you say ah-ha, that is north! And there is still two hours of driving left to get into Southern Oregon! I'm excited beyond belief that the mud puddles are drying up and we can actually mow the lawn, yahoo!! I hear the lawn mower even as I type.

So, it is definitely time to bring out the barbecues and invite the neighbors over. As my dh always says "if you want friends, you need to make yourself friendly" so I've made an invitation to be neighborly and invite the family next door over for a barbecue! I was inspired by by two challenges. The first one is from Play Date Cafe's color challenge this week and be sure and check out their celebrity guest designer, Courtney Baker, she is the owner and creator of Practicing Creativity stamps.

Raspberry, Aqua, Kraft & White!! Pretty colors! And I was definitely inspired by this Basic Grey paper!

PDCC#33

Can you can see how I popped up every other lantern that is paper pieced?

The second challenge is from the That's Krafty Thursday the challenge to use kraft in a card at the Spotted Chick's Blog. Definitely take a look at all the inspiration over there!

Speaking of barbecue's I've got to run! We are heading out to our granddaughters first birthday party and it's a BBQ!! See you later and thanks for looking! Have a blessed day.

Supplies:
Stamps: Unity Stamp Co (Retro BBQ...Sweet Summer Time); Designer Paper: Basic Grey; Cardstock: Bazzill, Neenah, white; Ink: Distress Ink (Broken China) Palette, black; Tools: Nestabilities Label 9; Copic Markers: BG18, W1, R37; EK Success border punch.

Delightful and Encouraging Challenges!

Hello my Delightful Friends (and family!)
(Scroll down to see the Copic Storage giveaway post!! Entries must be in by June 4th)
I have a wonderful Scripture to encourage you today from Psalm 31:24 and the card I'm sharing also happens to be in answer to 3 challenges this week!! But first the Word of encouragement: "Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord." I love the fact that I don't have to be strong in myself but my strength is in the Lord. He gives me not only the hope I need but helps me to have courage to face whatever difficulty I may find myself in! That is such a blessing and you can have that assurance too when you know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He is so faithful to meet every need!
Okay here we go with todays inspiration! Three challenges and two are from Christian Paper Crafts (Bible Verse Thursday and Sketch Tuesday). The color challenge is from Play Date Cafe Challenge.

Here is the Sketch I'm following! CPC-ST59

Here are the gorgeous colors this week! Lemon, pale peach and peach. PDCC#32

The paper I've used (and let me tell you I don't do a lot with peach!!) is called PEACH GROVE from the Bay Blossoms Collection from CLOUD 9 DESIGN! It is double sided which worked perfectly for this card and then I used the Yellow cardstock from Bazzill that we call "bling" at the lss because of it's shine!

Other Supplies:

Scripture stamp is from Our Daily Bread Designs , the ink is Palette, black and the brads are Making Memories (small) and Heidi Swapp (large). I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the yellow cardstock with a paisley folder. Other tools: Marvy Uchida scallop oval punch, small butterfly and EK Success border punch. Copic marker to ink around the butterfly: Y38

Thanks for looking today!! May your day be blessed and filled with encouragement!!
