Know, Trust, Seek - Word Art Wednesday

Hello to my dear delightful friends and family!
Sorry to be so MIA here lately, especially in visiting your awesome blogs but life has been a bit on the hectic side here.  Grandkids are beginning to play little league and softball, I've been teaching and prepping for my card classes at Scrapper's Edge and it doesn't leave a whole lot of time when I start adding family, work and church responsibilities into the mix (which are my priorities). I'm sure most of you are in this same boat as I, right?!
However I do have a card to share with you, it's for the next Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge #228, 229.  Thanks again to our sponsor Simon Says Stamp! Be sure and check out their blog HERE for lots of inspiration.  I just order a very cute background stamp from them (Gingham check) that I was going to use this week, but it hasn't arrived yet. (bummer).  I have a feeling it will arrive in the mail today!
Here is my card:

A great encouraging Word from Psalm 9:10.  I love how certain words are in a scripty font, it makes them stand out and that in itself is a mini message!
Here are the ingredients:
Card Base: Neenah bright white 80-lb card stock and also used for printing the Scripture
Designer Paper: Doodlebug Designs Spring Garden Collection (CUTE!!!)
Dies: Cottage Cross-stitched Square set (for word art)
Spellbinders: Flutters
Embellishment: green gingham ribbon and green satin ribbon (my stash); Maya Road Resins: Mini Sparkle & Shine
Distress Inks: watercolor technique on butterfly
Cuttlebug
This was a super fast and easy card to make, I already had the butterfly made from another project so that was a time saver!  I chose two different 6x6 papers from the Doodlebug Design paper and cut one (the patterned one) at 4" x 5.25", the next paper (green) was cut approx 1/8" bigger and then layered them together.  Then I added my ribbon and bow, the Scripture was cut using the die and cuttlebug (easy peasy) and I popped it up with dimensional tape, assembled the card and I was done!

If you are looking for a good Bible Study for women, I've been facilitating one called Living Hope by Jen Wilkins.  It's a study of 1 Peter.  It's excellent, I ordered it from Lifeway.  It is a nine week study with DVDs and a workbook.  The ladies are really enjoying it, it's definitely a challenge from the Word to live holy and obedient lives.  We are on week 5 (this morning we meet) and the workbooks have 5 days of homework.
Well, I'm writing this post the night before it goes live and my head keeps nodding so that is a sign it's time to get off the computer and crawl into bed! Mondays and Tuesdays are tough because I work outside the home on those days.  I need to be fresh and have a sound mind for our study in the morning!! Then it will be off to a little league game in the afternoon.
Hope you all have a blessed week.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Abounding Love - Word Art Wednesday

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!!

A new card to share for this week's Word Art Wednesday #226 & #227(Anything Goes - Family Friendly) Challenge.  Don't forget that this is a two week challenge and we would love to see your cards, mixed media, tags, scrapbook pages, etc.  Just link up with us (up to 5 entries) and you will have a change to win a prize from our sponsors this week (Heartfelt Creations and My Artistic Adventures are the sponsors for this challenge - beginning April 13).

Here is my card:

I've been practicing my watercoloring and the negative painting technique, I am still in the beginning stages as you can see! But I did love the color combination on this.
The stamp I've used is from Ranger (Dylusions - Dyan Reaveley collection) called Further Around the Edge.  I've stamped with Archival Jet Black and then used my Peerless Watercolors to paint with.  I've used the Uni-ball Signo (broad) white pen to add the stitch lines.  The paper is Ranger Water Color paper and the Scripture was printed on Vellum.  You can grab this Scripture Art at Word Art Wednesday (it's free!!) at the challenge blog HERE (It's challenge #226 and #227)

Our Scripture today (Philippians 1:9-10) really should reflect the heart and mindset of every believer -  that is, our love abounding more and more! And as we grow in our Christian faith, the characteristics listed in 2 Peter 1 (virtue, knowledge, self control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, love) and the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5 should be overflowing in our lives so that we will be examples of excellence, sincerity and be without offence until Christ returns.  It's a big responsibility and absolutely impossible without the help of the Holy Spirit dwelling within, encouraging, convicting and teaching us daily.  Not only that, we can pray for wisdom and discernment and see what the Lord can do in us and through us.  For with God all things are possible!! (Mark 10:27)   Have a blessed week!

Thanks for visiting!
