Hope You Had a Merry Little Christmas!

Hello and a belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my delightful friends and family!! It has been a very busy time for just about everyone I know and so my time here has been very limited.  This post will be short on words but filled with the special cards I made for my co-workers.

Hope you enjoy them as much as I did in making and giving them!  I'll share some of the ingredients next to each card. I did get a new laptop for Christmas from my dear hubby (which I LOVE!) unfortunately I'm not familiar with Windows 8! Joy Fold Cards - Snowflakes

Hello Delightful friends and family,
I'm finally able to post the cards I made for our Ladies Ministry Christmas Party!  My card theme was snowflakes as you can see by the pictures.  I shared with the ladies how we are unique as a snowflake being fearfully and wonderfully made by God.  Just as God has a treasury of snow, we are His treasure, too - created for His glory!

I had a couple of cards left over to share. The Joy Fold Technique I used is found at Splitcoast Stampers on their resource page.  I've made each card a little different, using 4 different embossing folders and two different paper patterns (double sided) from this years Christmas Bo Bunny Powder Mountain collection.  The card stock is Bazzill and Neenah bright white.  The stamp set is Christmas Blessing from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I love all the Christmas sentiments that ODBD have in their online store here. I've used three different dies: Spellbinders Nestabilites scallop oval, deckled rectangle and the Sizzix Sizzlits mini snowflake rosettes. In place of ribbon, I chose to use Tulle in white and pale blue.  I've attached each snowflake rosette on the tulle bow with a repositionable Zots Dots (adhesive) so that they could be removed, the tulle slips through the hole at the edge of the snowflake and could be used as an ornament!

Inside top fold
ODBD stamp on the inside panel and the ink is Nautical Blue (Memento)

The center of the snowflake I've added silver Stickles (Ranger).  I ended up making 24 cards!  Whew!! It was fun to do and I'm glad the ladies enjoyed them.

 Thanks so much for visiting!!

CAS - Blessed Christmas (CCDC1)

Hello Delightful friends and family,
Hope this finds you well!  It's been a while since I've been able to post (computer woes continue!) but I did want to share this CAS card for a challenge at Cindy Coutts blog.

THE CHALLENGE: Make a clean and simple nontraditional Christmas colors card using a die-cut or embossing folder (optional) that can be easily mass produced.

 CCDC1

This card could definitely be mass produced  and the color of the designer paper has more of an orange/rust color to it so I hope it qualifies as non traditional.  The only thing that would be considered time consuming would be the ink blending around the edges of the poinsettia and the focal point labels.  And the  next one I will use my Stamp-a-ma-jig to center the sentiment better. Of course a well placed bling or two or three to the side will fix this on mine! Wouldn't this CAS be a great way to use up some of those Christmas paper scraps you have?  I saw a card in the CARD magazine (Dec 2012 pg 73) that was very similar to the challenge so I need to give Amber Kroening a shout out for her inspiration, too.

Ingredients:  Designer Paper: Memory Box, Tinsel collection; Neenah bright white card stock;  Stamp: Our Daily Bread Designs, Blessed Christmas set; Dies:  Sizzix Alterations (Movers and Shakers) Mini Cardinal and Poinsettia set and Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels; Ink: Archival Russet and Distress Ink, Vintage Photo; EK Success corner punch and Cuttlebug (Provocraft).

Thanks for visiting!!
