Unity Stamp Company - Grateful for You!

Hello!

Hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving!

Christian Paper Crafts DT's are finishing up a fantastic month of showing off their Unity Stamp creations. I invite you to check out the CPC site and their blogs to see what the gals have done with these fantastic stamps! I have my final two projects to share. Since it's the gift giving season I chose to do a customized gift bag as my first project today. The Unity stamp set is Simple Blessings and I love using it!

(CPC-UnityNov09)

I've embossed the leaves gold onto the brown cardstock (Bazzill cardstock) tag that I've cut out to fit the bag. The gold sheen cardstock is from Paper Accents and I've used the EK Success corner rounder then stamped the swirl with olive Archival Ink from Ranger. The leaves and sentiment are gold embossed. (Ranger gold embossing powder)

Sorry the photo isn't the greatest. The gold paper is a gold sheen cardstock and I'm having trouble getting a good shot. If you look really close you might be able to see the red dots I've painted on with Claudine Hellmuth's Studio acrylic paint (Dab of Red). The adhesive backed ribbon is from g.c.d. Studios (Winter Wonderland)

CPC-UnityNov09

My second project is this card which I've used the same stamps set. I love using the swirls with leaves. I've used my Prismacolor pencils (goldenrod, sienna brown) on a few of the leaves after stamping with Olive Archival Ink from Ranger. The cardstock is from Bazzill and the pattern paper is BoBunny. The large orange brads are from the Heidi Swapp line.

I've used the corner rounder from EK Success and added dimensionals behind the sentiment. Pretty clean and simple design! Thanks again to Angela Magnuson at Unity Stamp Co. for sponsoring Christian Paper Crafts this month!! Thanks for looking!! God bless!

Unity Sponsor Month Continues!!

(CPCUnityNov09)

Good Morning!
I'm so excited to be sharing my Unity project with you all.
I've been working on a project as soon as I knew what stamp set I would have! I first saw this manila folder album featured at Scrapper's Edge in a class a few months ago and I loved it! In the meantime, I've been following a few blogs that I love getting inspiration from and low and behold I found a tutorial for a very similiar album on the Taylored Expressions Blog and then again at Splitcoast Stampers Tutorial forum. So much for my semi-original idea (lol).

I would like to take this time to thank Angela at Unity Stamp Company for being our sponsor at Christian Paper Crafts during the month of November.
Thanks again for looking and I hope it will bring you some inspiration and I hope I've not gone over the top with too many pictures!!
Here are some of the inside pages of my Simple Blessings Manila Folder Album featuring Jakob, my grandson and his adventures raking the leaves.

Click on the pic to see a closeup.

This close-up picture shows the leaf stamp using Stazon jet black ink and the paper is actually the photo "trimmings" of the shots I had taken.

Here is the one of the pumpkin stamps from this set. I stamped it with Russet Archival Ink from Ranger and added a button and ribbon.

Here are some of the tags I made for the pockets of the album.

Here is probably my favorite stamp. I love the swirls and the leaves. I think it worked perfectly as an extension of the leaves Jakob was raking (or rather spreading around!)

Here is a list of my supplies I've used:
Stamps: Unity Stamp Co. Simple Blessings set
Ink: Stazon, jet black; Distress Ink (Ranger) Peeled paint used to ink the edges of the folder; Archival Ink, Russet, Coffee, Olive.
Paper: BoBunny; Bella Blvd; Creative Imaginations; Bazzill cardstock; 3M Post-it Craft adhesive backed paper; Manila folder, Kraft colored and made from recycled paper.
Embellishments: Ribbon, American Crafts and Offray; ribbon from Michaels; Brads, Creative Impressions; Buttons, Foof-a-la; Darice Hemp cord.
Tools: Cricut (George cartridge : tags) Ek Success: corner rounder; Marvy Uchida: Oval and Circle Scallop punch; Martha Stewart: fence border punch.

Thanks again for looking!! Be sure and check out all the Unity Stamp line of stamps! They are excellent quality stamps!

Addy and her Poppa

Just had to post the latest picture of our youngest granddaughter, Addy (almost six months). She spent part of the weekend with us and since I got a new camera (yippee!!) I was able to practice a little bit on my two sweeties here! This was taken after church at our "leftovers" feast from the Community Dinner the church put on Friday at the Grange. Addy had her first taste of pumpkin pie and liked it... a lot!!

Simple Blessings featuring UNITY STAMP CO.

CPCUnityNov09

Hello and welcome!
Hooray it's Friday and I just left our churches cooking crew at the Mad River Grange to be able to post this real quick-like! We are preparing our free to the community Thanksgiving Dinner. 8 turkeys, 67 pounds of roast beef, 80 pounds of pototoes and stuffing to feed at least 200 plus desserts and all the side dishes like cranberries, salad, rolls etc.! All is cooking, so now it's just a waiting game until 3:30 then it will be a major rush to have everything done by 5:30 to serve!

Here is another card I finished using this wonderful set called Simple Blessings for Unity Stamp Co. our terrific sponsor this month over at Christian Paper Crafts! I just love how easy this stamp was for embossing and this was such a "simple" card to make!

The finished card (CPC-UnityNov09)

Here is the recipe: Stamps: Simple Blessing set from Unity; Paper: Bazzill and Paper Accents, cardstock. (I made my own pattern using the same stamp I embossed with, I loaded the stamp alternating the color of ink, first stamping on scratch paper then stamped the lighter image on the cardstock.) Inks: Archival Ink (Ranger) Russett and olive; Clear Embossing Powder from Ranger,; Ribbon, American Crafts, button & raffia from my stash!

Thanks for looking, I hope you enjoy the clean and simple look of the card! Thanks again to Angela and Unity Stamp Company for the opportunity to have some fun with their incredible stamps!

Back to the Grange....

Bible Verse Thursday and Taylored Expressions Sketch

Morning! Just a quick post I've got some training for the church website this morning then off to Costco to purchase all the food for the Thanksgiving Community Dinner tomorrow(we feed about 200), then pick up the sample of the new church T-shirt for a youth fundraiser, then finish up the shoeboxes for the Samaritan Purse outreach and get them delivered. (whew!!) It is a busy day and tonight we have our mid-week Bible Study!

But first It's Bible Verse Thursday Challenge at CHRISTIAN PAPER CRAFTS and Angella has a great challenge for you here is what she says:
"Happy Thursday, everyone!!! Only one more week until Thanksgiving!!! Since we will not be having a challenge on Thanksgiving, I thought we could incorporate the same gratitude spirit this week instead. For this week's Bible Verse Thursday Challenge, use ANY verse which speaks of gratitude or thankfulness. Other than the gratitude theme, this challenge is completely open.....any colors or images.....let's see how creative you can be!!! Of course, if you'd like to make a Thanksgiving card, by all means....do!!Please use Keyword BVT32 when uploading to our gallery....come back to this thread and post a link when you have a sec. If uploading to any additional on-line galleries, please use the Keyword CPC-BVT32. There are no time limits and no challenge police! Just have fun and let our Lord be glorified!!! Have a blessed day!! "
Here is my sample for the challenge which incorporated my take on last Fridays sketch from Taylored Expressions (TESC91):

CPC-BVT-32

here's a close up (duh!)

Recipe: Paper: Bella Blvd and Bazzill Cardstock; Stamps: Inkadinkadoo; Ink: Distress Ink, antique linen and Archival Ink, coffee; Prismacolor pencil, dk green; Embellishments: ribbon, American Crafts; pearls, Creative Charms; Tools: Scallop oval punch, Marvy Uchida; Cuttlebug for embossing not sure the name of the folder (sorry) Technique: dry embossing, ink blending, piercing. My handwriting for the Scripture 'cause I just don't have very many stamps with Bible verses and my ink is gone in my printer (woe is me!) I forgot to take a pic on the inside but there is a nice sentiment "blessing" on the inside.

Here is another card featuring the same sketch:

TESC91

This card is much closer to the sketch from Taylored Expressions than the above Thanksgiving card.

another close-up!

My recipe: Paper: Basic Grey and Bazzill cardstock; Stamp: Uptown Rubber Stamps; Ink:Archival Ink (Ranger) Coffee; Prismacolor pencil (hearts), Process Red; Embellishments: buttons, BoBunny; ribbon, American Crafts; Embroidery floss, DMC; Tools: Scallop Circle punch, Marvy Uchida; Cuttlebug, Snowflake folder.
Okay I'm off and running and I hope you all have a super excellent Christ-centered day!!! God bless.

The Glitter wins...

Okay, the glitter wins, it can stay. (you have to read the last post to understand my opening line) I tweaked the card, embellished a bit more and even though it's not my favorite card, I'm definitely not going to throw it in the trash. My colors for the challenge were: bashful blue, pretty in pink and certainly celery. There is another reason for this card! There was another challenge at the KL Stampin N Scrappin Blog and so I challenged myself to enter that challenge as well! I'm still kinda shy doing that... but I was inspired by all the snowflakes and the tutorial using the glitter so be sure to check it out!

CPC- CM30 and CPC-ST31

Here is the sketch I used from Christian Paper Crafts

Recipe: cardstock: Bazzill; Stamp (Inkadinadoo, snowflake), Merry Christmas (SU! retired) Ribbon (g.c.d. Studios) and (Nice and Narrow); Stickles, icicle (Ranger); Ultra fine glitter, (Stampendous); Embossing powder, clear (Ranger); border punch (Martha Stewart); Snowflake punch (EK Success)

I finished the card AND cleaned a little bit of clutter... dinners on and hubby is due home anytime so I'll say bye for now!

Photobucket

Glitter...

I have a confession.... I've never been a big fan of glitter. Oh don't gasp!! I like the look, I just have never liked the mess. Me the queen of clutter, don't like the mess, how ironic! However, I have some "less messy" glitter in my stash and I really like them, you probably know that I'm talking about, Stickles!! They come in so many colors and they even come in a "distress" look. Can it get any better than that?! (lol) Well, I finally decided to get glittery, not only that, I did some heat embossing on my card which can be messy, too. I'm definitely in a whole different creative mindset. Where did the real me go??? I even used Ultra Fine Glitter!! The card I made was in answer to the Color and Sketch challenge at Christian Paper Crafts that I posted yesterday.
HOWEVER, I think it's just too ugly to post, so I'm going to start over again or tweak the original card. Am I going to use glitter? That remains to be seen... *sigh* I'm sure I'll learn an "ultra fine" lesson from this but in the meantime, I think I'm going to go clean up some clutter... and be thankful that my glitter mess is confined to one table in one room! Oh wait a minute what is this stuff flaking off my jeans... seems I've left a trail... *sigh*

We're celebrating the theme of friends and we're happy to share our projects with you based on the verse:

What better way to share a friendship than lifting up our voices together and worshiping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! This 8x8 "Faith" page is my sample for todays Blog Hop!

When I was praying about how to use this stamp set called Autumn Pals from Unity Stamp Co. this quote by Francis of Assisi, (which you have probably heard most recently sung by the David Crowder Band) just kept going through my head and the Lord used it to inspire this page. Which incidently will be used as a lesson for my Sunday School class about our Creator and worship. I'm blessed to teach a small and very creative, all girls class who range in ages 6 to 12 years old.

Here is the recipe for my card:
Paper: Kraft, white cardstock (Paper Accents) Rainforest cardstock (Bazzill) Talk Soup (pattern paper by Jillybean)
Stamps: Autumn Pals and Something Within (Unity Stamp Company)
Quote from Francis of Assisi: font: "You All Everybody"
Ink: Archival Ink (Ranger) colors: coffee, olive; Smooch: pearlized ink (dots around the green);Distress Ink (Ranger) colors: scattered straw, dried marigold
Sakura black Identi-pen;
Paint: Claudine Hellmuth, Studio semi-gloss (blank canvas, charcoal black, sable brown)
Pencils: Prismacolor (dk green, goldenrod, sienna brown, rose deco, )
Embellishment: button (Foof-a-la Bag of Buttons)

We were so happy when she accepted the invitation to be our guest designer. Thanks and welcome, Jen!

The DT has some fresh projects for you and a new spin on how to use Unity Stamps. The stamp sets provided to us were Simple Blessings (hugely popular with everybody), Build a Turkey (just wait until you see what Jen did with this - make sure nothing is in your mouth!!!! My computer screen just missed being sprayed with tea!), Autumn Pals, Joy & Wonder, and Embellished Season.

We have 3 Simple Blessings stamp sets and 3 Devoted stamp sets from Unity's new {ippity} line. The comments will close at midnight Sunday and the winners will be announced Monday morning on each individual blog.

CPCUnityNov09

Design-wise I was inspired by the swirls in the leaf stamp of this very cool set called SIMPLE BLESSINGS. I carried out that inspiration by using my Cuttlebug and the Swirl folder on the brown cardstock. I tried to keep this simple to stay within the theme of "Simple Blessings" so I've not done a lot of embellishing. However, I did use green raffia and brown buttons to add a little dimension to the card! I also used Foam Squares to "pop" up my smallest pumpkin. You can see this also over at my SCS Gallery!
Here is a list of my ingredients:
Stamps: Unity Stamp Co (Simple Blessings)
Cardstock: Bazzill (citrus, rainforest) Paper Accents (dk brown & rust)
Paper: 3M Post-it Craft Paper, green (leaves)
Buttons: Bo Bunny
Ink: Ranger, Archival Ink, coffee and olive
Tools: Cuttlebug, Swirl folder
Technique: Paper piecing

I stamped with Archival Ink (coffee) on Citrus colored cardstock. I really liked the color combination!

Archival Ink (olive) on Citrus matted with rainforest cardstock from Bazzill.

My second card: Happy Fall. Friend from the Autumn Pals set.

CPCUnityNov09

I used 4 stamps from the set: the stump, branch, beaver & sentiment.

I paper pieced all of the scenery and painted with Claudine Hellmuth's Studio acrylic paints (traditional tan, landscape green, sable brown)and used my Prismacolor pencils and OMS on this adorable little beaver.

Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink (pumpkin is what created the dots around the scalloped oval) and Archival Ink in coffee is used on the sentiment. The green oval I cut out using my Cricut (From My Kitchen cartridge - it's the body of the sheep!! The paper is from Basic Grey. I needed a shape and size larger than my punch so I had to improvise using my Cricut!) You can also check this out at my SCS gallery!

Thank you Unity and thank you for stopping by and participating in Christian Paper Crafts very first blog hop! Next, you will want to hop on over to the fabulously talented Angella Crockett to see what she has in store for you!
