Happy Anniversary, Love You Tons! (STS #27)

Hello Delightful friends and family!
What a quick month this has been! The grandkids are back in school (except Princess Tucker) so I'll have a bit more free time (well, in my mind anyway...) it seems I can always fill up that "free" time with housework and getting caught up on some work at the church.  I'm getting my craftroom organized, one area at a time, that's exciting!  My sweet hubby and I celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary last Friday and here is the card I made him.  I used the sketch from Seize the Sketch challenge blog.  This is their last challenge, they are closing down (bummer!) I really liked following the inspiration over there.  Here is the card for their last challenge:
I paper pieced the elephants instead of coloring them.  This stamp set is from Lawn Fawn.

Inside sentiment is from Paper Smooches and I colored the hearts lightly with a Copic Marker.

I will also be entering this at Word Art Wednesday #147 Anything Goes

The last few baseball seasons we've been going to a couple of San Francisco Giant games each year and we always try to schedule our trip for Fellowship Day at AT&T Park where the Christian ballplayers share their testimonies. The last three years have included a concert with a popular Christian music artist.  This year was Natalie Grant.  Wow!! It was great!  Here are some pictures I took of the game on Friday night and two following the Saturday game for Fellowship Day.  Some of the proceeds for the event went to the Salvation Army and the athletes paid for the concert.  Pretty nice and a real blessing!

We had a wonderful time with our friends the Clarks and hope to go again next summer, thanks to the San Francisco Giants organization!  Go Giants!

Thanks for visiting and letting me share a bit with you!

Sunshine, Flowers and Saturday Morning fun!

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
Hope your weekend is going well!  It's already been a busy day with making lunches for the homeless outreach our church does every 2nd Saturday of the month, breakfast with my hubs and t-ball with our little Addy.  Here is a card I did last night for a friend on the east coast, she's been on my mind lately so I thought I'd send her a card and let her know I'm thinking of her (Abby!).

Love this stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called Sunshine and Flowers I've been wanting to use it for over a month!  It's so cheery and the sentiments are wonderful too!  I've colored this with Copics, added Glossy Accents and Liquid Pearls (pumpkin) to embellish.  The inks I've used are Memento Tuxedo Black and Nautical Blue.  The designer paper is from DCWV 8x8 paper pad called Cafe Mediterranean.  I've used navy card stock to mat the middle dp.

Glossy accents used in the middle of the blue flower and Liquid Pearls added to the middle of the two other flowers.

I've entered this card in the following challenges:

Here is a glimpse of our Saturday morning:  Assembly line to make a little more than 100 lunches.

Feel Better Soon!

Hello Delightful friends and family,
Another card to share!  I really enjoyed working with this sketch and I used my sewing machine too!  Love this fun stamp set from Paper Smooches (Healthy Vibes) and I've been hoarding this paper from Fancy Pants called Park Bench.  I'll be entering this card at Color Throw Down #300 (light blue, navy, pumpkin) I've used Memento Nautical blue ink to stamp both the image and sentiment.   I colored the heart with Copic markers and added Glossy Accents for dimension.

Here's the sketch I've used from Seize the Sketch #24 (from Vicki)
I'll be entering this at Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge (anything goes) also.

That's it from me, thanks for visiting!  This card will be going to a pastor friend of ours who was scheduled to have a triple bypass this morning but they were only able to fix one of the arteries. Please keep Pastor Andy lifted up in prayer for healing.

Whitewash Woodgrain Masculine Birthday Card

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Playing along at Seize the Sketch #22.  This card I made for my grandson's little neighbor who celebrated his 8th birthday this week.  I also tried out this new technique for the first time for the background.  I love it! So easy and quick and perfect for the summer.  Here's a link to the website to the Whitewash Woodgrain technique (thanks Gina K Designs!).

I've used stamps from Taylored Expression on the front.  The twine (Darice) the button is Corrugated Shapes (Jillibean soup - Key Ingredient embellie from T.E.)  The ink for the background is Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap) then I applied Tsukineko Brilliance (Moonlight White) over it after I had scored 1/2" lines on a piece of bright teal card stock.  Ink for the sentiments Memento (Rich Cocoa).

Inside of the card:  Another Corrugated shape from Jillibean Soup, The little car is from Lawn Fawn (Happy Trails and I've colored it with Copic markers and then embellished it with Glossy Accents.  The sentiment is from BoBunny  and the Designer Paper is MME "Boy Crazy" collection.

I'll also be sharing this card at WORD ART WEDNESDAY #137 (Anything Goes)

Thanks for visiting and have a great FRIDAY!!

Happy Birthday Jake!

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
Today is our oldest grandchild's birthday!  Jakob turns seven today and here is the card I made for him.  He started taking Jiu Jitsu lessons in the fall and has been doing great.  A couple of weeks ago he earned his yellow belt so when I saw this LaLa Land Craft stamp I had to get it for his birthday card.  The name of the stamp is Karate Luka but we won't tell Jake!
I've colored Luka with Copic markers and the paper I've used is from the Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient Kit for February (WeR Memory Keepers 6x6 pad Hip Hip Hooray and the HB sentiment is from the stamp of the month Birthday Bash) I've used the following inks: Memento (tuxedo black, nautical blue) Distress Inks (antique linen, peacock feathers, mustard seed); Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Circle Die.
More pictures to come after his party...

Inside of the card (stamps: MFT & Hero Arts)

I'll be entering this card in the following challenges:

Birthday Wishes

Hello Delightful friends and family,
Hooray it's Friday, right??  Hope you have a great weekend. I will be busy on Saturday at the church preparing for an event that I will be speaking at in March and also for our Ladies Bible Study on March 3.  So it's doubtful that I'll be spending much time in my craft room this weekend.  I did have a little time before Jake and Addy came over this morning to make a birthday card for my great niece who is turning two.  She lives in New York but is in Oregon to visit her grandparents (my sister). My mom and my other sister will be heading up there this weekend to celebrate with little Miss Laurel, so the card and gift will be making it to her in time for her party. Happy Birthday Laurel!!!

I'll be entering this card in the following challenges:

Pinwheel Birthday Card - Seize the Birthday and Seize the Sketch #12

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Just getting this in under the wire for the challenge at Seize the Birthday (use Chevrons) and I was too late for the  Seize the Sketch #12.  But I want to give credit where credit is do.
Got to make this really brief, it's past my bedtime and I've got to work at the lss in the morning plus tomorrow evening I'm teaching our ladies Bible study.  Busy, busy...

Stamps : Pinwheel is from Taylored Expressions (Delightful Day) and the sentiment is Paper Smooches (Sentiment Sampler set)
The Designer Paper is My Minds Eye (My Girl - 6x6 pad); Card Stock: Bazzill and DCWV.
Ink: Memento, Tuxedo Black;

I used lots of Liquid Pearls (Ranger) to embellish the pinwheel and flags.  I gave the pinwheel more dimension by stamping it twice, paper piecing and fussy cutting them out and then used 3D Dots (EK tools) to pop it up.  The flags were created by taking a 3/4" x 2" strip, folding it over adhering them with Zots and punching each with the Envelope Punch Board (WR Memory Keepers).
Darice Natural Hemp Cord finishes the banner.
I must be honest this is not my favorite card and the first one ended up in the trash/recycling! Not sure why I had such a difficult time with the sketch, maybe if the pinwheel was positioned lower??  I was trying to make it for a little girls birthday party that Addy is going to and thought the pinwheel would be a cute idea.  Oh well....

Thanks for visiting and have a great week!  Congrats to the Seahawks and their fans, they were very impressive!!  (Personally I'm a Niner's fan living here in northern California!) Condolences to the Bronco's and their fans - they had an awesome season though.
