Color Monday (CM17) at Christian Paper Crafts!

Hi and I'm so glad you've stopped in to visit!!
Now, I know my title says "Color Monday" and today is Tuesday!!
But I didn't finish this until late last night and I thought I'd best turn in and post the picture today. Here is the challenge for Color Monday: Use the following colors: kraft, red, and black in your creation. Here is my sample. It's clean and simple and the "ingredients" will follow the picture. I hope you'll play along with us at Christian Paper Crafts (http://www.cpcmag.com/). Be sure to go to the gallery there and upload your creation and be sure to use the keyword: CM17

Ingredients: Watermelon stamp is from Posh Impressions that I've had for years!! I used paint instead of ink : Adirondak Dabber, Red Pepper & Bottle (green). I used a scallop punch (EK Success) on the Kraft cardstock (Paper Accents), I inked the edges with Distress Ink (Ranger), Worn Lipstick & Antique Linen, I used a black Sharpie to make the "seeds" and the faux stitching. Black Stazon ink for the Imaginations stamp "thanks a melon...., a Basic Grey kraft colored button, and red and black cardstock (Paper Accents).

I hope you've had an excellent day and I just want to leave you with a Scripture of encouragment:
"For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all." 2 Corinthians 4:17 (NIV)

Rest assured friends you are never alone, for He is always with you!

Exciting News!!

Good Morning!!
I'm so excited to be able to share that I've been invited to join the Christian Paper Crafts Magazine Design Team!! I'm so honored to be asked! I'm blessed to be part of this ministry to women who love the Lord and love to paper craft!
I just want to thank Cindy Coutts and Patter Cross for the opportunity to serve on this very talented team. I'm sorry this post has to be so short and it doesn't even express how blessed I feel but it's Tuesday and that means I need to get ready for work!! I don't want to leave home just yet, but duty calls! Tonight I will get all the wonderful Design Team Members on my blog and all the "delightful details" added. I'm still learning all the behind the scenes "stuff" to a blog (ugh!) so I thank you in advance for your patience. But in the meantime, please celebrate with me and rejoice in the Lord with me for this is His doing and I'm humbled to be used for His glory.
Have a wonderfully blessed day and definitely check out Christian Paper Crafts Magazine at www.cpcmag.com

Distress to Impress

Hi and thanks for visiting!!

Please don't be mislead by my title of todays blog. I'm not really out to impress (that sounds so bragadocious, whoa I sound like my mother!), it's the name of the class I took to learn some Tim Holtz techniques. I'm learning some new stuff! Whoo-hoo I am excited! Yes this is a tease of a post, I'm not posting any pictures yet because I'm not finished with my project(s) but I hope to by the end of the week (at least a couple of techniques anyway!) And I have some really, really exciting news to share (no we aren't expecting another grandbaby, at least I don't think we are!) but that news will have to wait a little bit longer as well. Wow... this is a teaser of a post!! Well, got to run (actually drive)... or I'll be late for work! Have a wonderful day and Happy Birthday to my son-in-law Ray! I'm sure he'll never read this but I thought I'd throw that out there anyway. We will be celebrating with him tonight at dinner!

Journal #7 and Visitor from Nebraska

Thanks for visiting today!
I've missed blogging this week but we've had a friend from Nebraska staying with us and so being on the computer has been hit and miss. Darrell is here ministering at our church for 3 nights (last night was the final one) and it's always a blessing to have him in our home. And I get the pleasure of going out to lunch with him after we hit all the second hand bookstores in search of old manuscripts. His favorite food is Chinese so that's what we always do EVERY time he comes here! So we have a wonderful time talking about the Word of God, catching up on family news and he always manages to find a book or two or five or six (!) to ship back home to Red Cloud, Nebraska to add to his many volumes. I'm inspired by his dedication and his knowledge! One of these days I hope Kerry and I can visit with him on his turf and then I will get to go shopping with Tiffany his wife, and I'm sure it WON"T be for old books!! We all have been friends for over 10 years and Darrell is more like family than friend, even our kids say that, and he insists that he's their adopted brother!

Darrell pastors 3 churches and travels all over ministering God's Word. In November, they will be taking a group of people to Israel (two ladies from our congregration are included in that number) and I'm kinda wishing I could go too but with all the responsibilities we have here with church and family I don't think that will ever happen especially since dh is not a good traveler. It would have to be a God-thing for sure!
Okay, we are heading to the airport shortly so Darrell can catch his flight home so I'd best get the journal prompt up since I'm already two days behind!!

Here is #7
Do you have a special place and time you meet with the Lord? Describe it.
Hope you are enjoying these prompts and are joining us at Christian Paper Crafts. Be sure and check us out at www.cpcmag.com

Journaling #6

Hi,
Thanks for stopping by Delightful Details!! Just a quick post because I'm a day late with the journaling prompt.....

#6 Journaling question is:

If you can see the seeds planted in your life, share them.
Who were those special people?
Isn't that a great question. I'm sure each of you have had those special "God moments" where someone either asked you a question or just shared their hearts with you that drew you to the Lord. I know I have a friend that did that for me. She just asked some simple questions, made me think and made me want to find the answer! It ultimately was what brought me to know Jesus in a real personal way! I'll always be grateful about that. I hope that I'll have time to share more later, but now I've got to finish getting my home ready for an evangelist that will be staying with us for a few days. He's become family to us and so I got to get his room ready!! He is flying in from Nebraska tomorrow morning. It's like having a kid come home from college!! (a little more pressure on me though) especially since I have to work all day tomorrow. He will be preaching/teaching 3 nights this week and so that's probably not going to be giving me much time for blogging. But the Lord's work comes first! Have a wonderful evening, I still can't believe how fast this weekend flew by!!

Journaling #5

Just a quick post until later!! I appreciate your visit. Today I'm posting Journaling question #5
As a child did you grow up in church?

I hope you are enjoying these journaling prompts! If you have started your journal let me know! I'd love to read your comments. Be sure to check out www.cpcmag.com lots of inspiration and fun paper crafts that are faith-based to see!

Our Ladies Morning Bible Study is almost done with our "closet makeover" study called "Me, Myself and Lies" by Jennifer Rothschild. It's all based on the Scripture in Psalm 19:14 "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer." With the Lord's help I'm getting rid of the mind trash, none of it's good for even a yard sale (ha!), and soon the closet of my mind is going to be looking good! I'm working on it daily. Until later, have a wonderful day!!

From Forklifts to T-Birds

Hey just a quick post!
Hope you had a good weekend, it's winding down. I'm finishing up some laundry before heading to bed. I wanted to post these pictures of Jakob and Kerry. Jakob visited his Poppa at work at the lumber yard, more specifically he wanted to see Poppa's forklift! And he was just too cute for words! Actually both of them were!! But please don't tell Kerry I used the word "cute" to describe him, okay?

Hi Grammie, I'm drivin' the forklift!

He's a big boy!!

From forklift to Classic T-Bird!
And Addy slept through the whole adventure!
