Hey There! CPS Anniversary Day 7 card & TPE

Hello Delightful Friends and family!
Hope this day is finding you well.  I'm learning to be thankful for God's divine interventions (aka interruptions!).  I'm sure you all can relate to interruptions (big and small) but how many of us really want to be thankful and accept them as part of God's divine plan for our lives?  Just a little thought for the day for you!!  There is a study by Priscilla Shirer that is titled "Jonah, Navigating A Life Interrupted" and I just finished day one, so we will see what other tidbits I can share with you all as I do this weekly study and homework!

Here is the sketch for day 7 of the anniversary celebration at Card Positioning Systems and I'm sneaking in another color challenge (to use pink) at The Pink Elephant #134 which is also celebrating their 3rd birthday (Congrats to Lori Boyd of By Lori Designs!).

CPS#242

As you can see (at least I hope you can!) I've flipped the sketch, I was having a real challenge with this one for some reason!  But here it is:

Digi stamp Gretchen (how cute is she!) from the Bug & Roo Collection by Hannah Boyd (By Lori Designs) the sentiment is Taylored Expressions from the Labels of Love set.
I'm still so new to coloring with Copic markers and hair is such a challenge for me to get highlights just right and subtle cheek color!  I really need to take a class but I know a lot of it is practice and there are a lot of great YouTube tutorials available, I just need to find time to do both!

Here are the Copics I've used.

Other ingredients:  Designer Paper: Echo Park (Yours Truly); Card Stock: Bazzill and Neenah.  Spellbinders Nestabilities Deckled Rectangle, Cuttlebug (ProvoCraft); Heart punch (unknown); Hinge Clip (Tim Holtz idea-ology line); Ribbon, American Crafts; Memento Tuxedo black ink; HP printer.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:33-34

Thanks again for visiting and leaving a delightful comment, it always is a blessing!

With Sympathy - CPS 220

Hello dear delightful friends and family,
It's difficult to make a sympathy card especially when you know the family it will be going to.  One thing  while making the card, you could be praying for peace and comfort for the family, then trust and be assured that the Lord is good in all things, even in death.  For the Christian, it's a celebration of life truly beginning, unfortunately for those left behind, still learning the lessons of life, it can be a very difficult time.  I'm so grateful for God's Word when faced with these times.  One verse in particular I'd like to share with those visiting/reading is Philippians 4:6-7 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
I believe with all my heart when we bring our petitions before the God of peace, especially in these matters, the Holy Spirit does the work in guarding our heart and mind and bringing about a peace and comfort that the world around us just does not understand.  I'm so thankful for the ministry and love of the Holy Spirit!

I've used the CPS sketch #220 for my card today.
I used Distress Stains:Tumbled Glass, Tea Dye, Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters, Worn Lipstick and a mini mister filled with water to make the background (I used watercolor paper for this particular piece). I dried my paper with my heat gun then I stamped my image and using a Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles Large, I diecut the shape and then sponged around the edges with Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass and Vintage Photo).  Another circle was cut using DP (from my scrap basket - I think it is MME) the reverse side of the DP is the flower pattern layered under the script circle.  The sentiment was cut from leftover background paper and sponged and framed out with the DP. Stamp sets are from Taylored Expressions: Care and Comfort (sentiment) and Summer Afternoon (silhouette).  Both are stamped with Memento, Tuxedo Black ink and the silhouette was filled in with Copics 100 Black.  Ribbon (American Crafts), the card stock is Bazzill.
Finished card 4.25 x 5.5

 CPC #220

Inside of card: Sentiment from CARE & COMFORT (Taylored Expressions)

Thanks for looking and may the God of all comfort fill your heart with peace.  To God be the glory!

Moldy Cheese? And Happy Anniversary!

Hello Delightful friends and family. Yes, the title of the post is most unusual to say the least!  But I will explain.  First, Happy Anniversary is for CPS and Tami Mayberry for 5 years of supplying sketches and inspiration to card makers all over the world!  The following card happens to be one of those sketches: #136.

Now for the moldy cheese....

This week's suggested colors are:  Plum...Pear...Moldy Cheese?  Yes, you read that correctly and you have to admit I did a pretty good job in matching up the colors. (the photo isn't doing it justice)  I do not think I would have used that combo of colors but the challenge was given!  Of course this is the Play Date Cafe Challenge #116 and you'll be inspired to get crafty once you visit their blog, too!
AND I MISSED THE DEADLINE BECAUSE I FORGOT IT WAS EAST COAST TIME AND I'M ON THE WEST COAST!!!  BUMMER!

This card is for my DIL whose birthday is TODAY.  Happy Birthday Amy!

Here are the ingredients:  Designer Paper: Basic Grey, Kioshi; Bazzill and Neenah Card Stock; Stamp: Penny Black, Sweet Thing; I've used Spica Pens for a bit of sparkle and bling and American Crafts ribbon to embellish the top of the card. Inks: Memento Tuxedo black and Distress Ink, Milled Lavendar (sponging) Here is my list of Copics: E0000, E000, E09, E11, E13, E15, E19, E25,E79; R00, R20, B28, V04, V25, YG03, YG00, G20, Y00.  The finished card is A2.

Thanks so much for looking and have a very blessed day!!
