Here is my first project, but let me tell you how much I loved working with the Pure Luxury cardstock, WOW! It is perfectly named!! In this card I used the white and Kraft Pure Luxury and it was a dream to blend ink using the Tim Holtz blending tool from Ranger.

The stamp set I used is called "How Sweet It Is" is one of the stamp sets of "Stamps For A Cause" and this one benefits The American Diabetes Association and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. $7.00 of every set sold is divided evenly between these two organzations.

Here is my recipe for the card:Ink: Stazon, jet black (image & sentiment) Ranger Distress Ink: worn lipstick (for blending) Tattered Angels: Glimmer Mist, marshmallow (for a little sheen!)
I painted the image after stamping and I used the Claudine Hellmuth Studio Semi-gloss acrylic, sable brown, dash of red, the ice cream is painted with Adirondack Dabbers in the Metallic pearl and the spoon with the metallic silver (I didn't dab obviously but used a brush!) I also used a Prismacolor pencil, sienna brown for the stem.

Tools I used were the Cuttlebug, Swirls folder and the Marvy Uchida Scallop Circle and blended with the distress ink (worn lipstick) I added a cute piece of dotted ribbon to embellish the front. Matted the sentiment with the Kraft Luxury Cardstock and attached!


Here is my second project using this adorable set of stamps and I had an even adorable subject to work with, my oldest granddaughter, Riley Ann! This is her 2nd birthday, which was less than a month ago and I thought these stamps were perfect to embellish the layout!!

I also used one of the StampTV videos "Embellished Flowers" for inspiration, I painted an originally white flower, red with Claudine Hellmuth Studio acrylic paint, (color: dash of red).

I used a piece of the 8.5 x 11 Black Pure Luxury Cardstock as a background on the 12x12 cardstock (Bazzill) to anchor the layout. I printed a free calendar page (http://www.printable2009calendar.net/) and then arranged the pics, matted two in the black Luxury cardstock. I used the EK Success corner rounder to soften the edges of two of the pics.

Isn't the sentiment perfect for that expression!!

Here are more ingredients that I used: Stazon Ink, black; Distress Ink, worn lipstick; Dots on the flower (SU! retired stamp) Red and black sharpie; Buttons: BoBunny; Prismacolor pencils: rose deco, sienna brown, crimson red, deco yellow, rouge neon); OMS; See the wonderful tutorial on StampTV for Coloring with Colored Pencils. I did a little bit of embellishing with Icicle Stickles (on the cake) and I used the Marshmallow Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels to sparkle up the centerpiece of the flower which was cut out using the Marvy Uchida scallop circle punch. The red grosgain ribbon is from JoAnn's (Offray brand)

Bible Verse Thursday... is it already THURSDAY?

Can you believe how fast this week is going by! I hope you all are warm and comfy, there have been some awfully cold weather reported out there. I'm feeling a little guilty sitting here and I see the temp outside is a comfortable 54 degrees, now compare that to Red Cloud, NE that is experiencing 29 below! ( I just had a phone call from our evangelist buddy from NE) See why I say comfortable!

Here is this weeks theme at Christian Paper Crafts! The theme is "Our God is Sovereign."

When I first read this verse from Ephesians (her card's verse is Ephesians 4:5-6), I was reminded that so many of us live such hectic lives that we forget that our God is still in control, and that He is not just in the background where we have placed Him for the time being. He created the heavens, the earth, and every single little thing or thought we know! Some of us get "stressed out" at the drop of the hat, instead of letting God walk along with us and allowing Him to be our leaning post. We let fear control us instead of trusting in Him for solutions to our problems. We fear other people, we fear for our well-being, we fear illness, we fear God's enemies, and the list goes on. Here is my point.....God commands us not to fear anything.....if you have fear, then you can't have total faith in Him as He commands us to do. All things....ALL things come from Him and He is still in control of this world."That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me, I am the Lord, and there is none else.I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things." Isaiah 45:6-7So....no matter what.....God has created all. When you think you're alone in the dark, remember that God is there as well! Scrapper's Edge Scrapbook Sketch #1

Hello Friends!!

I'm so excited to share the very first scrapbook Sketch from Sondra Kirtley owner of Scrapper's Edge our local Scrapbook and Copy Store. The store is located in Eureka, Calif. (northern Calif) if you are traveling in the area you really need to stop by and say hello! (I work there 2 days a week, sometimes more if I'm needed!)


Sondra is one talented lady and keeps her store filled with so many of the latest papercraft supplies. Well just in case you can't here it is: dark & light pinks + white or vanilla (optional: an additional neutral such as black, brown, or gray) After this VERY LONG post I've given the recipe to my card! You know I love to combine challenges, one of these days I'm going to surprise you with more than just two in one card, but it's not going to be today, but I am going to do it!! Can I make that my New Year's resolution!! I'm pretty confident I will keep it! If you are new to the blogging world (I consider myself a "toddler") boy are you in for a fun ride!! There are so many great sites and challenges to get involved with (check out my sidebar!). Which brings me to the reason for my post today: Christian Paper Crafts has challenges and a giveaway each week and we would love for you to check us out! And her latest venture besides keeping us in line is the Hope 2010 Bible Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.
CASE Artist Saturday and Scripture Saturday hosted by Mary. Mary does an awesome job choosing an artist from our gallery for you to "Copy and Share Everything" and this is a great way to express your creativity while using someone elses idea! Mary also hostesses Scripture Saturday which features a Scripture or Biblical theme for your scrapbook page.

Getting Ready for Christmas 2010?

Hello Friends, Followers and Family!! I've been busy in my craftroom and have neglected to take down my Christmas decor but since I was late putting it up I'm not feeling "too" guilty... As long as I get it down before Valentines Day!! Just kidding... ;-)
I thought I should post this tonight, even though it's late (Hi Randi... another night owl!) because tomorrow is super busy with church (remember I'm the Pastor's wife, lots of stuff on my plate tomorrow so... without further ado check out this sketch!!!
Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #96

I've combined two challenges in my card today (rather, tonight!). The first challenge is from Sparkle Creations and the challenge is making a Christmas card with buttons, now I know Christmas is over, but this is for 2010, why wait until the last minute! Anyway, I love making Christmas cards and it's challenge #5 and I've incorporated the above sketch from Taylored Expressions (TESC96). This is a great sketch and I'm so glad I've been able to create with it! Be sure and head over to these two blogs and check out the fun stuff!! And here is my card:

Get Sketchy Card Challenge #19

Happy Saturday!! I've been able to do some creating here the last couple of days, some is top secret but this card isn't! Get Sketchy has a great sketch challenge this week and their sponsor is Unity Stamp Co. So I grabbed some of my Unity stamps and chose these from " Birdie Inspiration" set. Is there a Song in Your Heart?

Hello and welcome to Delightful Details!!
Well, it's officially the New Year, 2010 can you believe it? Just about every blog I've read today has commented on how fast the last 10 years have flown by. I say how about the last twenty!!

Well, I'm choosing this year to sing rather than grumble and I'm trusting the Lord to keep a song in my heart and so that's why I've chosen this sentiment on my card for this weeks challenge over at KL Stampin' n Scrappin'.
