Roses For You - Word Art Wednesday #216

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas.  We had all the kids and grandkids over, so it was a full house and we had so much fun watching the little ones.
Today I'm sharing a new card for Word Art Wednesday.  It's our last 2015 challenge and starting 2016 we will be going to a bi-monthly challenge.  And as always it will be an Anything Goes - Family Friendly challenge.  We are super excited about Simon Says Stamp being a new sponsor this year!  Yay!!  Now onto my card:

I've used a new stamp "Roses For You" from Simon Says Stamp.  I've stamped the flowers and then stamped the flower portion twice and popped it up with dimensional adhesive and then added a pearl. Before those steps I used a water brush to paint with Distress Inks (Sketch Blueprint, Twisted Citron, Abandoned Coral and Festive Berries, Hickory Smoke) to give this water color effect.

The Word art is from 1 Corinthians 6:20.  A wonderful verse to end 2015 and to head into 2016.  We must remember that we are to glorify God with all we have, for without Him we are nothing.  But with Him we have everything.  We were bought with a great price being the very blood of Jesus Christ.  It's truly our reasonable service to honor and glorify Him. I thought the flowers on the card was a simple way to reflect how we are to live, reaching to the heavens in praise to the Lord and seeking His will in everything we do.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.  Matthew 6:33

Thanks for visiting and Happy New Year!!

Simon Says Stamp - You Have My Heart - DieCember Celebration!

Hello Delightful Friends and Family,
This is my second attempt to write this post.  It just disappeared on me earlier, not sure what I did but boy is that frustrating! I received happy mail this week from Simon Says Stamp so I was just pleased as punch because it was unexpected! Love it! So, I had to make a card, of course.  Perfect for this months DieCember Die Crazy challenge.  The die I've used from the new release You Have My Heart is called Love Bouquet.  Be sure and check out Simon Says Stamp new release - it's pretty awesome!

Here is my card:

I've also used the "Sending" die and the "Big Hugs" die (Hugs only on this card) both from Simon Says Stamp and then the tiny hearts are from a die set from Lawn Fawn called Journaling.
I've die cut the Love bouquet twice, once in black and once in bright pink (bubblegum) and then with the Uni-Ball Signo white pen drew in the stitch lines.  I've added the black die cuts into the leaves that were open as well as a few background areas.    No stamping at all on this card! The designer paper is from Simple Stories.  I haven't played in a challenge is so long other than Word Art Wednesday where I'm on the DT, so this was a lot of fun!

Thanks so much for visiting!

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.  Isaiah 26:3

Rejoice and Be Glad! Word Art Wednesday #214

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Just a quick post because I'm a bit under the weather.  Hope whatever this is will be quick (chills and achy feeling.) Since I'm writing this Tuesday night, I hope to get to bed soon and feel better in the morning. Who has time to get sick!!

Here is Word Art Wednesday's card #214. It's a family friendly challenge with prizes, hope you'll link up at WAW and leave a comment! Please grab the free digital Scripture, too. There is a new one every week there is a challenge and some fabulous sponsors, too!

The top layer is a background stamp from Hero Arts.  I've used white embossing powder and then heat set it and added Distress Inks in blues. The Lawn Fawn stamp called Season's Tweetings was used to make the tree branch (embossed with Archival Tea Branch).  The little birdie was colored with Copics and I stamped the musical notes with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  This little birdy is singing it's heart out for the Lord!

Thanks so much for visiting and lift me up in prayer!

Joy to the World! Word Art Wednesday #213

Hello Delightful Friends and Family,
So glad Wednesday is here!  My Tuesday was a crazy day and I'm glad it's behind me. I do love looking back however and see how the Lord worked out all the details. I know that I don't have to  sweat the big or little stuff! So grateful that He is in control!

Here is my card for Word Art Wednesday #213 this week, I know it's a busy time of the year but I hope you'll consider playing along:

I've used Distress Inks for the background behind the silhouette of Bethlehem (die from Taylored Expressions). The sentiment and star (Paper Smooches) have been embossed with white embossing powder and the stars were created using a Uni-ball Signo white pen.  I used purple glitter card stock for a layer to frame out the focal layer.  A strip of a silver border sticker separate the Scripture and the scene.
Hope you are keeping CHRIST in your CHRISTmas so that you may experience the joy and gladness that comes in knowing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior!  Rejoice and have a blessed week.

Thanks for visiting!! Have a great week.

Word Art Wednesday #212 - God With Us

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!!
Hope you are having a great Wednesday. After Bible Study this morning, I have to go to work at the lss.  One of my co-workers is sick so I'm filling in for her in the afternoon.

Here is my card for Word Art Wednesday #212.  I've been keeping the cards pretty simple lately with the Scripture taking center stage.  I've used just two colors, blue and white on this card and the stamp is a large Hero Arts background stamp called Snow.  It stamps so nicely, I've used the Cornflower Blue Ink (Archival).  I've also inked around the edges to soften the stark white stitched circle (Simon Says) and background die (Spellbinders).

Can you see all the white dots on the snowflakes? They are enamel dots from Ranger, the package comes with black and white enamel accents and they dry glossy. I really like the effect it gives.

I love this verse from Isaiah.  Have you given much thought of the name Immanuel? Meaning "God with Us".The LORD has always wanted to fellowship with us, it all started in a beautiful garden before the fall. Then God came down and dwelt among His people Israel.  First He was there with the tabernacle in the wilderness and then He "tabernacled" in the flesh - Jesus Christ.  Now He tabernacles within us - in our hearts as we believe in Him. Christ in us, the hope of glory! If you have moment you should read Colossians 1.  I have to warn you though you may not want to stop at chapter one, you may end up reading the complete letter.  It's definitely worth your time!

Thanks so much for visiting and please join us at Word Art Wednesday and play in the Family Friendly Anything Goes Challenge.

Sing unto the Lord - Word Art Wednesday #211

Hello Delightful friends and family!
It's the day before Thanksgiving and we are getting our menu finalized.  Need to get the shopping list together and brave the grocery store today.  My dear hubby has to have colonoscopy at noon so I'm going to have to be creative with my time!  Hopefully I will be able to keep him out of the food, he's going to be a hungry bear after the test!
Here is my card for this weeks challenge at Word Art Wednesday.

I've used this cute Pure Innocent stamp from My Favorite Things and colored her with Copic Markers.  The papers are all from Simon Says Stamps (I was a blog hop winner!! whoo - hoo!) The ribbon is from my stash and the Scripture Art is a free digi that you can find at Word Art Wednesday!  Hope you'll play along with the challenge it's Anything Goes - Family Friendly and there are a couple of giveaways so be sure to head over there!
Ok, gotta run and make a quick shopping list for my part in the Thanksgiving Dinner.  I hope you have a blessed day with your family and friends.

I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.  Psalm 13:6

Give Thanks - Word Art Wednesday #210

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Hope you are all having a wonderful week.  This month is flying by isn't it?!  We are getting ready for our annual community Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday that our church sponsors for our town, so this week is really going fast.  I'm teaching a class on Thursday at Scrapper's Edge, then I need to take all the Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes to the local drop off spot on Friday before doing all the shopping for the community dinner.  Needless too say it's a busy week!  Well enough about me, it's time for this weeks Word Art Wednesday challenge (Anything Goes - Family Friendly).  Hope you'll join us this week and link up.  Here is my card for the challenge:

Here are the ingredients to my card:
Stamp: Unity (pumpkins)
Paper (Neenah bright white) and Doodlebug Designs
Embossing Folder: Darice Birch
Copic markers
Enamel Dots: Simple Stories Pumpkin Spice
Dies: Lawn Fawn Stitched leaves
Distress Inks: Gathered Twigs, Abandoned Coral, Antique Linen, Fired Brick
Memento: Rich Cocoa
I've used clear embossing powder to emboss the pumpkins and leaves - the photo isn't showing that, but I wanted to give a bit more dimension and texture to the card and that is how I achieved it.

What a wonderful song/psalm of David which is our Scripture Art verse this week.  As  believers we have a special responsibility or perhaps I should say special privilege to praise the Lord and proclaim the good news of His salvation. Isn't it a blessing to be able to trust the Living God and know that He cares so much for us?  Be sure to check out 1 Chronicles 16:8-36 to read the complete song/psalm that David wrote, it's no wonder that the Lord called him a "man after Mine own heart" such worship and adoration!  David was so grateful that the ark was now back in it's place and his heart was filled with thanksgiving.  As Christians we should be filled with thanksgiving for what Jesus has done for us! He is so faithful and He dwells within us and we have access to Him 24/7 - that's certainly something to shout/sing about! (just like David). To God be the glory!

Thanks for visiting!

Snowy - December class

Hello Delightful friends and family!
The craft boutique is behind me now (whew...) so I thought I'd just post something for fun.
These are two of the cards that we are making in my class in December at Scrapper's Edge in Eureka.

Isn't this the cutest snowman? (Penny Black - Snowy). I've colored them with Copic Markers and played around with my colorless blender and used some fun techniques for the background and plaid scarves and hats.   Paper Smooches sentiment, Uni-ball Signa white pen for the background dots, Micron pen for the framing, white embossing powder finish off the supplies I've used.

Thanks for looking!!

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.  Colossians 3:15

Bountiful Thanksgiving to God - Word Art Wednesday #209

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Oh my goodness what a busy time... are you feeling it too?  I love the holidays and every year I hope I can enjoy them! It never fails that I over schedule myself in so many ways (church, home, the grandkids and work).  One of these days (years...) I'm going to learn.  I'm just thankful that I am able to do what I can do!  Which brings us to this weeks card for Word Art Wednesday and great verse for this time of year.  Did you know you can download it at WAW and it's free?  Every week there is a new digi Scripture for you to download and if you play along with our challenge there is a possibility that you could win a prize from one of our sponsors. Remember the challenge is ANYTHING GOES - FAMILY FRIENDLY. Check us out!

I've used Doodlebug Design paper (Fall Friends) and Bazzill card stock.  I love adding layers by using the Spellbinder Nestabilities, the one I've use is the Wonky Rectangle. I've used the Mini Leaves die by Sizzix and a small leaf punch by Marvy Uchida.  The large leaf is cut out of chipboard and I've colored it with various Archival inks and then used embossing
powder over it and I get a custom leaf everytime! I've used the Simon Says Stitched Circle die, then embossed with autumn leaves (Darice) and that added Antique Linen Ink with a blending tool. Adhered the layers together and voila!

Back to our Scripture verse... in this chapter in 2 Corinthians, the apostle Paul was commending the Corinthians for their willingness to be generous in their giving. Especially to the believers in Jerusalem who were going through great persecution. This can relate to us on so many levels.  To be generous, in the biblical sense of the word, has more to do with our attitudes in giving rather than our amount. (Read Mark 12:41-44 and 1 Timothy 6:17-19) However, we are blessed so that we can be a blessing in return.  I read once that "God wants us to be channels of blessings, not reservoirs of blessings" the Lord desires for us to be enriched through our giving, spiritually first then materially, otherwise He wouldn't have taught about sowing and reaping.  I hope and pray that we can be thankful for God's abundant provisions and remember that all resources come from Him, so that we too can be generous as He leads. To God be the glory!

Thanks for visiting!!

So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or out of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.  2 Corinthians 9:7

Word Art Wednesday #208 Anything Goes

Hello Delightful friends and family,
I have a CAS card to share, it could have been a one layer card if I had thought ahead a bit! I love this large background stamp from Hero Arts.  It's called Branches.  My next card using this will definitely have some red berries on it!  Can you picture it?

This is my card for this week at Word Art Wednesday #208. Hope you will consider linking up with us and play along with our Anything Goes - Family Friendly challenge!  You don't have to use the free digi Scripture but it would be a real blessing if you did!  It would be a great way to spread the Word! This weeks Scripture would be a wonderful verse to share around the world wouldn't it?  What a fabulous promise that God gave to Moses, then Joshua and now to us in the Book of Hebrews.  He will never leave us neither will He forsake us.  Our lives should reflect that promise.  Our conversation/way of life should be one of contentment not covetousness because another promise from God is that He will provide for our every need.  He is so faithful, I pray that you would be able to view this from God's perspective and learn to trust Him in every area that you struggle.  Blessings!

Thanks for visiting!

Ingredients to card:
Base - Neenah white card stock
Designer Paper - Doodlebug Designs (fall paper 6x6)
Stamp: Hero Arts background - Branches
Seam Binding (ribbon)
Ink - Memento Pistachio
Spellbinders Nestabilities

I've colored with Copics, the paper is MME Christmas Market Street, I've added Liquid Pearls Opal white to the hat.  Dies used are Spellbinders Scallop circle and LaLa Land Stitched Circle. The base is Neenah white card stock.

Well that's it for me today!  Thanks for visiting.

Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You;  And let those who love Your salvation say continually, "Let God be magnified!"   Psalm 70:4

Word Art Wednesday #207

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
I cannot believe that October is almost over!!
And I have been so neglectful in visiting your blogs but I've been trying to get ready for a boutique in a couple of weeks plus  designing and preparing for the card classes in November and December at Scrapper's Edge our local scrapbook store. Just a little bit overwhelmed.... So I hope you all forgive me (and you could pray for me too!)
Here is my card for this weeks' Word Art Wednesday.  I've used one of our sponsors (Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps) stamp sets called Sunshine and Flowers which after I made the card realized it was no longer available. (bummer!!!) It's such a cute set.  Korin (owner of Sweet 'n Sassy) has a great selection of stamps. I have 3 sets of their sentiments that I LOVE!  Such encouraging words and full of faith.

I used a waterbrush and Distress Inks to color this sweet image after embossing in white on Ranger Water Color paper.  The pattern paper is from Doodle Bug (Fall Friends 6x6). I printed the Scripture on Neenah white card stock.
I will be sharing this at the Daily Marker - 30 Day Challenge also.

I hope you will read the Gospel of John Chapter 15, it is full of encouragement and truth that will build your faith.  Every time I read it I get more out of it.  This is so true! When reading the Bible, I can't help but come to the conclusion that it is God-breathed, the integrity of design is all over it, from Genesis to Revelation.  The analogy of the Vine and the branches should speak to your heart the importance of abiding in Christ.  But don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself and read the whole thing in it's context. Be like the Bereans in Acts 17:11 "who searched the Scriptures daily...."

"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire and it shall be done for you.  By this My Father is glorified that you bear much fruit, so you will be My disciples."  John 15:7-8

Word Art Wednesday #206

Hello Delightful friends and family!

Here  is this weeks card for Word Art Wednesday.  I've been playing around with different combinations of  Distress Inks to make a night sky.  This card I used 3 inks: Salty Ocean, Peacock Feather and Dusty Concord. I used my white Signa Uni-Ball pen to make the stars and snow on the trees.
The trees are the dies from Cottage Cutz (Fir Trees). We carry quite a few of this brand at Scrapper's Edge, our local scrapbook store.
I used Neenah white card stock and with Distress Inks: Peeled Paint and Mowed Lawn I misted the paper and the inks (on the craft sheet) and pulled the paper through the ink a number of times, dried and then die cut the shapes.
With some scrap Neenah white card stock I die cut the hillsides using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside border dies.  I also printed the Scripture on the Neenah c/s and then inked around the edges with Tumbled Glass (Distress Ink).
Hope you will join us and share your art with us this week at Word Art Wednesday the challenge is Anything Goes - Family Friendly.

Another wonderful verse to share on the card this week by Karen Murray.
"And call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify Me." Psalm 50:15
How many of us go through troubles?? How many of us are troubled?  I think it would be safe to say that we all have struggles in our lives or sometimes surrounded by trouble whether it's financial, relational, spiritual or physical (or all of them!).  I think of the Christians in the Middle East who are brutally treated, losing their family members and their own lives.  Makes my troubles look like a walk in the park.  However, no matter the trouble, it still takes the same action on our part to be delivered, whether we are delivered out of our troubles or delivered through it and that is to call upon the Name of the Lord so that He will be glorified.  There is always a higher purpose for the trials and tribulations that a believer may go through. Sometimes we understand, other times we will have to wait to get our answers when we see the Lord face to face.  Fair or not, God is God and we are not. We are to walk by faith, not by sight.  Ultimately the things we go through are for our good and for His glory and if we are truly His, we will call upon Him in that day of trouble and have the confidence that He hears us and will deliver us.  To God be the glory!

Thanks for visiting and God bless!

Simon Says Stamps - Ready Set Snow! and #thedailymarker30day3

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
I have a fun card to share with you today.  I received some very happy mail last week from Simon Says Stamps and just loved what they sent!! Such a cute stamp set and matching die called Ready Set Snow!  It was perfect for me and I'm so excited to be able to share a little part of their Holiday Collection called Create Joy.  If you haven't been to their blog, you really shouldn't miss their blog hop that started on Friday.  You will love all the creative inspiration. Plus there will be a lot of prizes given away, too!  Thanks so much to Heidi Crowl (owner of Simon Says Stamp) and her team of designers.
Hope you like what I've done on this card and I have another one "in process" but not ready to share just yet! Maybe in a day or two.  I will be sharing this at the Daily Marker for the October 30 Day Coloring Challenge

I have to laugh, it looks like the these two are ready to step off the card and go play in the snow!

I had to use this paper (Simple Stories) that I have an abundance of from last Christmas, when I say abundance, I really mean that, I should give some of it away.  I will check with my grandkid's teachers to see if they can use it for upcoming Christmas projects. (I don't need to be a hoarder, right?!)  I've colored these two with my Copic Markers on some newer paper (100# Hammermill Photo White card stock) not sure that I like it, the green jacket got really shiny like it wasn't absorbing into the paper so the jury is out on that.  I originally bought the paper for a class I'm teaching and one card is a single layer card and I wanted it to be a bit more substantial than the #80 Neenah bright white and just thought I'd give it a try.  Any suggestions on the heavier paper and Copic coloring, particularly this brand of paper???
I've stamped the sentiment with Versamark and used Ranger Fern Green Embossing Powder, then added small red pearls that coordinate with the buttons on the coat (which was paper pieced). I've used Glossy Accents and Clear Wink of Stella here and there but the photo isn't picking that up.
Well that's it for me, sorry I'm a bit wordy today, what's up with that?? Maybe the popcorn and grandson Jake's Skittles from the movies... sounds like a good excuse to me!  By the way we saw Woodlawn - VERY GOOD and INSPIRATIONAL - a true story!

Thanks for visiting!

Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the LORD.  Psalm 31:24

Word Art Wednesday #205

Hello my delightful friends and family!
It's that time of the week!  I get to share my card for Word Art Wednesday.  This is super simple and I've thought of so many different themes that could work with this design.

The designer paper I've used is from the new Bo Bunny fall collection and I die cut the leaves to make a border, then decided to use the back side of this same paper and inlaid the leaves.  I apologize that my picture is kind of slanted, it makes the American Crafts
ribbon look crooked but I promise it's not!
The card base is yellow Bazzill card stock and I've used 3 different dies: Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves, Spellbinders Nestabilities Scallop Circle and LaLa Land Stitched Circle.  The Scripture verse was created by Karen Murray at Papercraft Memories and I printed it with an Epson printer.

More important than my card is this verse shared at Word Art Wednesday this week.
We are instructed in the Word and encouraged to pray for the Lord to lead us in His truth and to teach us His ways. Once we humble ourselves and allow that to happen we will find peace within our souls that the world cannot understand nor experience.  We also are blessed with God's mercy, grace and unfailing love.  What a wonderful gift we receive from the God of our salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ!

Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous day!!

Word art Wednesday 204 and #thedailymarker30day3

Hello Friends and family!
Here is my card for this week's Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge!
I've used this darling digi (Little Angel)  from All Dressed Up who happens to be one of our sponsors this week!  Yay!! Thanks to Wendy Burns digital designer who lives in Nottingham UK and has an etsy store of amazing images.   Check it out and be sure and head over to WAW and play along! Perhaps you will be one of the winners.
I'll be sharing this at the Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge Day 7, too!

I've colored Little Angel with Copic Markers and added Wink of Stella to her wings.  The pattern paper is from Doodle Bug (Fall Friends 6x6 pad).  The leaf cluster is an assortment of "extras" I had made that were waiting to find a home on a card.  I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched leaf die and the mini Tattered Leaves (Tim Holtz die) which I colored with embossing powders and multiple Archival inks.
The Scripture Art this week is 2 Corinthians 4:16.
Just a quick thought - On the outside we may be suffering due to all types of struggles in our life but thanks be to the Lord God that our new man/inner man is being renewed day by day!  The Lord truly knows what we need to keep us strong in Him. Be encouraged today - the Lord promises to never leave nor forsake us! That's good great news!

Have a blessed day and thanks for visiting!

I've colored the image (Darcie's Hello Autumn) with Copic Markers. Sentiment is a stamp from Stamper's Anonymous "Crazy Talk" the leaves are Lawn Fawns Stitched leaves Die set.  The fence is an Embossing folder set from Sizzix called Thankful. Here is my card which was colored with Distress Inks (Persimmon, Peeled Paint, Hickory Smoke) on Ranger Water Color Paper.

The sentiment is from an older Unity stamp set and the cute Pumpkins are from Taylored Expressions (Thankful set).  Can you see the embossed border at the top?  It's a Sizzix Alterations border (set of three).

Well that's it for me!  Have a fabulous day!

I Will Trust - Word Art Wednesday

Hey there!
Hope everyone is enjoying their day!  I've been doing the prep work to teach a card class at Scrapper's Edge this Thursday. That's our lss (you need to check us out!!!) and I also work there a couple days a week which I've done for the last eight years. I teach the "Crafter-Noon" classes twice a month which I've been doing for the last year.  This past weekend was prepping for my two classes in November.  So I spent lots of time in the craft room!  And I was able to get my card ready for today's Word Art Wednesday challenge #203 Anything Goes - Family Friendly.  Here's my card:

This card has a pretty simple design, the pattern paper used is the Basic Grey - Barista Collection. I've used Neenah Desert Storm card stock for the base and the strip across the card is Washi tape (Little B - Flourish).  The bottom of the card has a strip of the pattern paper and I used a Fiskars Upper Crust border punch to cut it out.

We live in some very perilous times that can cause fear but it's verses like Isaiah 12:2  that remind us that God is our salvation and we can trust Him and not be afraid because He is our strength and our song.  I have learned this over the years that as I trust my Lord, He removes the fear and replaces it with peace and joy and then comes His strength to sustain me.  What a blessing to know the salvation of the Lord.  It's not through works of righteousness that I have done but it's by the work that Jesus has done on the cross and because of that, I also can say
"Behold, God is my salvation I will trust and not be afraid!"

Thanks so much for visiting!!

Birthday Dreams - Seize the Birthday

Hello Delightful friends and family!
I just got my computer back with a new hard drive and Windows 10 and learning all the in's and out's.  Took a bit to figure out where and how to get my pictures.  I am so thankful the computer guys were able to save all my pictures but that was all they were able to retrieve.  So I feel like I'm at square one, hopefully I'll get it all down quickly!
I have a cute birthday card to share that I made for my co-worker Britteny, she LOVES pink, polkadots and she loves to read so this stamp from Stamping Bella was perfect for her.   I will be sharing this at Seize the Birthday (topping: use a punch or die).  I've used a Spellbinder word bubble die.

I stamped the image with Memento Black ink then colored the image with Copics and then fussy cut out.  The background paper is Ranger Water color paper and I've used Distress Inks to color. I've added Glossy Accents to the glasses, monster's toes and then lots of clear Wink of Stella and a few sequins for fun!

Thanks so much for looking!

Our soul awaits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield.  Psalm 33:20

Word Art Wednesday Challenge #202

Hello Delightful Friends and Family,

I'm starting week two without a home computer aka my laptop!  Just a little frustrating! So I have to make this quick and get back to my home.

Here is this weeks card for Word Art Wednesday #202 Anything Goes - Family Friendly:

This looks really crooked but I promise this card is straight!
Love this new Autumn paper from DoodleBug (Fall Friends 6x6).  I've also used the Simon Says Stamp die and stamp set (Oh Happy Day - feathers) new for STAMPtember.  I've embossed with Versamark Ink and added Tree Branch and Cornflower Blue Embossing Powders (Ranger), then die cut them out and added a bow (Darice cording).  The circle stitched die is from LaLa Land.  I've added a navy blue card stock layer on top of the white base and I really like how it has given it more interest/punch!

Love the Scripture chosen for this week.  With all the turmoil in the world I know that my role as a King's Kid is to follow after things which make for peace and to encourage and that means it starts in my home, at church,  at work and in my neighborhood. Just think how that could turn this messy world into a beautiful place.  Someday....until that time I'll do my part with the Lord's help.  How about you?

Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.  Romans 12:9

Seek the Lord - Word Art Wednesday #201

Hello my delightful friends and family!
I am having a rough go here with my laptop in the shop! (pray for me and for my laptop!) It's the only computer in my home, so this has been really difficult getting my weekly routine done here online.  I apologize to all the wonderful participants at Word Art Wednesday that I've not been able to comment on, as I usually do. So once I get the laptop back I will be playing catch up!
Getting my card finished for this week was the easy part, but I had to learn a different program to edit and add a watermark, it's wasn't too terribly time consuming, just not the norm and a little inconvenient.
So here is my card for Word Art Wednesday #201 Anything Goes - Family Friendly we would love for you to join in the challenge and perhaps you will be one of the prize winners!!

This turned out to be a pretty simple card and I really liked the colors.  I've used 3 Distress Inks (Abandoned Coral, Fossilized Amber and Worn Lipstick); a Heidi Swapp Stencil (butterflies in the background) and 2 Spellbinder Dies (butterfly and Deckled Rectangle).
Can you see the subtle butterflies in the background. I've printed the Scripture out on Vellum so you can see through to the background.  I've used Ranger Water Color paper for the background and "smooshed" the colors on my Craft Sheet, applied the watercolor paper onto the misted ink, then dried it with the heat gun.  Then I used the stencil to make the butterfly pattern (6x6 pattern and we carry this at Scrapper's Edge).  I also used the same colors for the die cut butterfly and then added Wink of Stella (clear) the picture below shows the glimmer much better.

This word art Scripture is so powerful and I hold it close to my heart.  Seek the Lord and His strength!  Oh my that says so much.  First, if we would truly seek the Lord (that is His heart towards you, I hope you know...) and there are so many verses that request us to SEEK Him. How else will I get to know Him if I don't seek Him?  This isn't a casual relationship, this needs to be a passionate, heart yearning desire in us to know Him.
We can seek to know Him and His strength.  I cannot do anything without the Lord's strength, I'm learning that more and more.  Seek His face continually... like I said, this is not a casual fling, it's a head over heels in love with Jesus relationship.  How about you? Are you seeking the Lord or is it a one-sided relationship with the Lord waiting for you to take that step towards Him? I think that is an invitation and I hope with all my heart you will accept it.  God bless!

Seek the Lord and His strength, seek His face continually.  1 Chronicles 16:11

Celebrating our 200th Challenge at Word Art Wednesday!

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!!
So excited to be sharing with you our 200th challenge at the Word Art Wednesday blog. Last I heard, we had ten prizes that will be given away! That's fabulous don't you think!! So be sure and link up and share a card, altered art piece, etc. just keep in mind that it is Anything Goes - Family Friendly!
Here is my card to share:

Isn't this designer paper from Penny Black so pretty?  It's called Beau Jardins it's a 6x6 paper pack.  I've printed my digi Scripture on Neenah Bright White card stock after I had resized it in Publisher.  I die cut it with a Spellbinder (Nestabilities)Scallop Oval die and then mounted it on a dark green die cut piece using the same oval Nestabilities.
I stamped, embossed (Archival Fern Green) and die cut the Flourish (SIMON SAYS - STAMPTEMBER release)  2 times and added a pink gingham bow.

I would like to give a big thank you to Karen (Papercraft Memories WORDart by Karen) who provides all of our Scriptures which are free to download.  Also a big shout out to Karen Letchworth who is our blog administrator and does all the behind the scenes at Word Art Wednesday.  So thank you and God's abundant blessings to you both! And thank you to all of our sponsors and especially to all of you who play along with us!  None of this would be possible without the Lord's favor and so we do rejoice in the Lord Jesus and are so grateful that we can trust Him in every good work.  To God be all the glory!

Thanks for visiting!

O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!  Psalm 8:9
