Hope Abounds - Word Art Wednesday #46

Hello Delightful friends and family!
I know it's been a couple of weeks since I've posted anything at all but it's been a little busy with everything BUT playing in my craft room!  Thankfully it's not been all work but a little family fun has been in the mix, too.  The next week will be extremely busy with our friend (and visiting evangelist) who will be staying with us for the week, so I hope I can squeeze in a little bit of  craft time.
Here is a mixed media piece I did that came out of my personal Bible study time in the morning.  I was reading in Romans 15 and these words in verse 13 really spoke to my heart.  I have some friends going through a trial (many friends actually) and so I was moved in my heart to do this canvas using these words. Not sure if it's really good enough to give it to them but I'll pray about that!   At the end of this post I have the complete verse typed out.  I've entered this in the Word Art Wednesday Challenge #46

This canvas is 8 x 10 (Alvin Heritage brand) and I've used a lot of different acrylic paints and Dylusion Spray ink for the background. I've stamped on tissue and fussy cut the flowers and layered the large one.  The pink hexagon shapes are stamped with paint.

I cut this shape out with a Spellbinder Nestie Hexagon Die using chipboard and then the mosiac was created with eggshells, alcohol inks and sealed with Glossy Accents. I love how this turned out!  I'm working on a fall mosaic now. The tape I've used is 7 Gypsies and then I also stamped a pattern on tissue and cut a strip and adhered with Mod Podge.

close up of the texture using a Dylusions stencil and Liquitex Light Modeling Paste that I've used Studio paint (landscape) to add color to it.

Stamps used: Dylusions : Inbetweenies and How Does Your Garden Grow; Stampers Anonymous: Mixed Media set; Lawn Fawn: Sally's ABC's
Other ingredients: Dylusions Spray Ink; Stazon Jet Black Ink; Making Memories Acrylic Paints; white tissue paper; Sharpie fine tip pen (black).

Thanks for looking!
Just a reminder for you:  Your life may be shattered (just like the egg shells that I've used for the mosiac) but the Lord Jesus can pick you up and make something new and beautiful from brokeness.  He is faithful.  I hope you'll put your faith and trust in Him.

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit.            Romans 15:13

School Theme - Sunday Style #7

Hello delightful friends and family,
Here is a card I did a while back but never posted.  I'm entering it in Amy's Sunday Style for school related projects.  This is a Mo Manning Digital image (Yale)  that I colored with Copic markers.

Here's a homework notebook I decorated with a library card, stickers, tag and stamps and distress inks.

That's it for me today!!  Hope you all have a great weekend, it's coming up fast!

Sweet - Twisted Pixel Challenge Sept 2012

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
Another layout!  This is of the youngest of our granddaughters.  This is Tucker Lynn at 2 months old.
This layout was done with the Sugar and Spice Kit and Alphas by Isabel Mendez of Crisdam Designs.  I'm hoping to enter it in the Twisted Pixels Challenge for September (as soon as I'm approved to post on their forum!) Here is the sketch from Gotta Pixel plus there were some added "must haves" included with the challenge: polka dot paper, an arrow, journaling card, cluster of flowers, and ribbons or string.

Here are two updated pictures of Tucker Lynn at 22 months old! Look at those mischievious dark brown eyes, gorgeous! AND she does not like to be still so I can take her picture! She loves to explore and get into EVERYTHING!! Good thing my house is pretty much childproof. I took these pictures last week.  So you can see I'm really behind in my scrapbooking!

She looks so serious!

Thanks for looking! Have a great week.

Oh give thanks to the LORD!  Make known His deeds among the peoples!  Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works!  Psalm 105:1-2

Simple Things - Sunday Style Challenge 6

Hello Delightful friends and family!!
Just a very quick post to share this card.  I'm entering it it the challenge from Amy's blog Scrappin N Style for the Sunday Style Challenge #6 - Fall theme.  I'm just getting it in under the wire!  So thankful we had an extra day, I needed it!!   Sorry the pic isn't the greatest, I had to take it this evening and the lighting was poor.
The end of summer and the beginning of fall means pulling out my sunflowers, leaves and pumpkins to decorate.  So, I chose a sunflower stamp from Taylored Expressions called Thankful.  I colored it with my Copic Markers (R59, YG63, YG95, YR20,YR15) and fussy cut it out and adhered it with dimensionals.

Other Ingredients:  Designer Paper: Prima Marketing (Doodle Deux) from the Key Ingredient kit for July, Bazzzill card stock; Memento Tuxedo black ink; American Crafts ribbon; EK Success corner rounder punch.

Thank you for looking!  Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

First Day of School - scrapbook layout (WAW43)

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Well, this week was emotional.  Cannot believe our oldest grandchild started school.  Seems like he was just born a year ago!  Had to get this documented and finished for his scrapbook while I still had those thoughts running through my mind. I get choked up still!   So little Princess Addy-tude and I are adjusting to our day without her big brother, I do go pick him up from school and have him for a few hours, but it is strange.  Addy is definitely enjoying her one on one time with me! (and I with her, too!)
All of the papers and elements are from an assortment of digital goodness from A Cherry On Top.
Here are the ones I can remember:  Sweet Digi Doodles, Doodledoo Borders, Sugar and Spice Kit and Alphas; I used Microsoft Publisher to make the layout and typed out in a text box the journaling.
I am entering this in the Word Art Wednesday Challenge #43

Hopefully I'll have a card to share later today!  I have plans to work in my mom's yard on Satruday morning.  She had a hip replacement surgery 2 weeks ago and will be traveling home in a few weeks (she had the surgery at Stanford) so my daughter Amy and I will be getting the weeds pulled and some yard maintenance done.  My son Sean has been putting in new hardwood floors in her bedroom (with a little help from my dh) so we are getting a few things done while she's been away.  It does make it difficult to get crafty when you are away from the craft table!!

Thanks for visiting!
