Happy Birthday USA!

SSCC#45 (Challenge: use stripes. This is also a Z-fold card which is hard to tell with this picture)

Happy 4th of July weekend to all my delightful friends!! Hope you are enjoying the weekend and also remembering all those who were so dilligent into making this country into a great nation. Land of the free, home of the brave!
Here are some quotes from our patriotic leaders that I believe are relevant for us today:

"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For that reason alone, people of other faiths have been afforded freedom of worship here."- Patrick Henry, Patriot 1776

"It behooves us then to humble ourselves before the offended Power to confess our national sins and to pray for clemency and forgiveness..." – Abraham Lincoln

"It is necessary for the welfare of the nation that men's lives be based on the principles of the Bible. No man, educated or uneducated, can afford to be ignorant of the Bible."- Theodore Roosevelt - (1858-1919) 26th President of the United States

"The foundations of our society and our government rest so much on the teachings of the Bible that it would be difficult to support them if faith in these teachings would cease to be practically universal in our country."- Calvin Coolidge, 1923

"The rights of man come not from the generosity of the state but from the hand of God."- John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) 35th President of the United States

"Without God there is no virtue because there is no prompting of the conscience...without God there is a coarsening of the society; without God democracy will not and cannot long endure...If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a Nation gone under." - Ronald Reagan

  5. Natalie, your card is wonderful and as I was reading this post, I realized that our Pastor preached about freedom on Sunday and used everyone of these quotes. How great is that? Hope you had a wonderful 4th.
