Color Splash and a Sketch!

I'm back with another challenge!! This weeks Play Date Cafe Challenge is their color splash challenge. Color Splash is Black & White with a hint of color.
This week's color: Green
I've also used this weeks TUESDAY SKETCH Challenge from CHRISTIAN PAPER CRAFTS!! Have you checked out the site? How about the Creative Blog?? We are getting more and more members, it's great!!! Love it! This is a sympathy card I made, my mom has requested me to make her a few so I'm trying to get some done now that I have some appropriate sentiments. This pic turned out so dark (I know it's black cardstock but it looks really dark!! I may have to make another one and see if I can minimize the black, maybe it's the black ribbon... personally I think it looks better in person!)

PDCC40 and CPC ST67

Hello Friend! CPC Color Monday Challenge (CPC-CM67)

Hello Delightful summer friends and family! I can't believe that July is almost over....wasn't it just Memorial Day weekend? Goodness gracious! Well, I was having the most difficult time with this card trying to combine our color and sketch challenge at Christian Paper Crafts and I gave up on the sketch (it's not hard, just not working out with the paper and image I was working with and so here is my second try with just the color only. Light blue and light red are the colors. Isn't light red, pink? (tee-hee) but I didn't do pink I tried for a light red and this is what I came up with using my Copic markers (R20, R32, YR18, B12, W1) on this darling stamp from Imaginesce's Splash Dance (that's the designer paper, too!) I stamped with Memento, rich cocoa and then used my white Sharpie Paint pen to add white highlights. The other papers used were: Bazzill blue and red and Neenah brilliant white. I used my Spellbinders Nestabilities Label 1 and embossed with the Swirls CB folder on the patterned paper (see the 3rd pic for a better peek). The sentiment sticker came from deep within my stash and the little crab I cut out from another piece of the Splash Dance line. The card base is a Z fold and is blank inside. Last but not least is the red "gem" from KaiserCraft

Thanks for looking and I'm delighted everytime I get a comment to read! Thanks again for looking enjoy the coming weekend! I'll be back before that I hope, I have a few more cards I'm hoping to finish for some very fun challenges...

Hello Delightful friends and family!

Here is a very monochromatic card with just a touch of black. I also used my Copic marker (E79) to color the pearl to fit in with the color scheme. Here is the inspiration for this weeks challenge!

How Sweet it is!! I'm a Krafty Chick!

Welcome to another beautiful day on the northcoast!! Love it! Of course, I'm about 6 miles east off the "coast" so I'm probably enjoying some of that "beauty" a bit earlier than the rest of our county! Here is a "sweet" little card I made last night which was inspired by a color challenge over at StampTV. The stamp set is "How Sweet it is!" designed by Gina K Designs. I'm loving the paper, it's from Cosmo Cricket "Early Bird: Cherry Pie" a doublesided piece that was PERFECT for the red and aqua color challenge. Love it when it falls into place so nicely :-) Speaking of nice, I was given the Krafty Chick Award for my kraft inspired card by the Spotted Chick herself: Thank you, Jeanie!! My blog will wear the Clara badge with honor :-)

Here are the details of the card.
I made my base 4.24" x 5.5" (Kraft cardstock, Bazzill) and then cut the designer paper an 1/4" smaller and rounded the corners on one side. I cut a red piece of cardstock 2.25" x 5.25" and border punched one side (Fiskars) then attached a piece of the designer paper 2" x 5" wrapped ribbon (Key Ingredients kit), made a bow, attached and then attached it to the card base. I stamped the image with Memento, rich cocoa) ink on Neenah Bright White cardstock. I paper pieced the "bowl" of the ice cream dish with aqua cardstock. Then I used my Copic markers (R29, BG45, YG67, W1, R20, E79) to color the image and then Stickled (Broken China) over the dish and stem. I then used my Nestablilities label 9 (2 different sizes) one red (embossed with Cuttlebug, Dotted Swiss folder) and one on white cardstock, using Distress Ink (Broken China) I inked around the edges, then attached the two and added the image with dimensionals. I added two aqua buttons (Making Memories) Stamped the sentiment, matted it on red and attached. Voila, finished card!

Thanks for looking and I just love it when you leave a comment!!

Happy Flower Inspiration (stvinspirebt7)

Hello from another sunny beautiful afternoon (and pray tell me, why am I inside??) in northern California! Actually I'm fixin' to walk to the post office to pick up my package from Taylored Expressions (thanks to the subscription from my mom!!! doin' a happy dance here!! I may skip to the mail ) So, I will be outside for a bit. I already ran some errands this morning and now I want to make a quick post of my card from Brenda's Inspiration challenge at StampTV.

Inspiration photo for the challenge!

Here is my card!
(STVINSPIREBT7)
I made this last night and really had fun with it. I used a rub on from Fancy Pants Designs to make the swirl and I then colored the pearls with Copic Markers (YR07 and RV17)
You may have to click on the inspiration photo to see the details and see where I've been inspired! My Botanicals set of stamps (I used the sentiments only.... from Gina K Designs) was the perfect match, I just love the font, and that qualifies me twice for the drawing to win a set of stamps! I won the Botanical set on Brenda's first inspiration challenge and here we are 7 weeks later, okay where is the time going.....
Ok, enough jabbering on to the deets of the card and then I'm off to the mail to pick up my package (whoo-hoo!!)
Delightful details: Paper: DCWV (Nana's Nursery - baby girl); Bazzill cardstock; Palette, black ink; Tools: Marvy Uchida, lg blossom punch, small scallop circle, butterfly and dragonfly. Button (Key Ingredients June, Taylored Expressions) Ranger Glossy Accents (on the butterfly & dragonfly)
Thanks so much for leaving a delightful comment and enjoy the rest of your day!!

Lovely October Afternoon....wait a minute!

Okay, it's not really an October afternoon (I'm not losing it!) but the paper I used for my card is October Afternoon's Flying a Kite! Cute papers!! All in my kit from Taylored Expressions. Love it, love it!! Now in reality, it is a beautiful July afternoon, the sun is shining and I've been in all day! (so maybe I am losing it a bit {tee-hee}) Still have more work to finish before I can enjoy this lovely day, though. But since I'm taking a break from my work, I thought I'd upload this card I did for our Bible Verse Thursday last night (yeah, I know... it's Saturday!) but there are no challenge police at Christian Paper Crafts, so there!!! :-) It's all for fun and an opportunity to shine for the Lord with our paper crafts. Here is my card, and the challenge was to either have an image with a home or a verse with home our house in it. Well, I did both thanks to my Ippity Devoted set from Unity Stamp Co.

(CPC-BVT#63) I've done a Z-Fold card!! Fun and easy peasy!

(front of the card looks a little crooked, I think the rick-rac tilted it a bit)

Just another view... you can tell I'm not anxious to get back to the workload....

Here are the deets and then I seriously must get back to work:

Most of the ingredients are from the June Key Ingredient kit from Taylored Expressions. Here is what is not from that kit: Copics: R20, RV17, BG45, Y08, YG11,E33, E19, E37; Ink: Memento, rich cocoa, Distress Ink, Frayed burlap (for edges) Paper: Neenah white cardstock; Tools: Marvy Uchida, scallop oval punch; EK Success, photo corners; Nestablilities Label 1; Zig pen, chocolate for faux stitching.

Thanks for your delightful comments!! I love reading them. Well, it's time to get my nose back to the old grindstone! Actually, it's the computer over at the church, I've got to type up the bulletin and pick out the songs for the services (I wear many hats!) and then get the song list and Scriptures loaded into the MediaShout, then finish my Sunday School lesson, it's all good stuff!! Blessings!!
